- On my first morning in Shillong I wanted to have a traditional Khasi food for breakfast, and what better option than Jadoh. Jah is rice, and Doh is meat in Khasi language, so Jadoh is a dish that is meat with rice. Join me for the Khasi street food breakfast in Police Bazar.

I am missing my favorite khasi traditional foods, i was born in shillong but now I am settled in east nepal, i am also a Mongolian Limbu indigenous of East nepal, i love khasi healthy traditional foods, khasi peoples does not use masala, Love from east nepal to shillong megalaya,

Now since I know you have already had all the experiences. However, just for info, the chillies in NE are some of the hottest in country, so people should be careful. We have many varieties of chillies in the region. What you had, was the Bird eye chilly.
Also, the betel nut used in the supari that you find in Meghalaya is very potent even for the Assamese people (who again consumes a lot of pan with supari) as well. It's the way they ferment/process the betel nut before peeling the husk.
I didn’t know what that chilli is called, so thanks for that info. I referred to them as the killer baby chilly 😀

Jadoh is the rice cooked with pork fat or blood or with chicken, the rice which is cooked with oil is called Ja stem and you can also get rice which is cooked with black sesame seed

6:08 it is called dohKhleh, khleh means mix.. and khlein means fat is not exactly salad it's just a mixture of onions,gingers and chilly
