Jay Slater, 18, of Fountains Way, ACCRINGTON - 18 month community order with 25 days rehabilitation activities and 150 hours unpaid work. Convicted of s18 wounding with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and violent disorder in August 2023, when he was aged 18. He is now 19.
Tom Hilton, who was 17 at the time of the attack, suffered a head injury so serious his skull was exposed, and wounds to his shoulders and legs in the attack close to the Old Paper Mill in Hermitage Street, Rishton, in August 2021.

Tom Hilton, the victim, was jailed for 14 months, disqualified from driving for 25 months and must sit an extended re-test if he wants his licence back.

I cannot understand how he thought he was going to walk back to his hotel over 10 hours walking distance. He had a phone with him which would have had a map to show how far it was. Unless he was high or drunk at the time why he was trying to walk back is beyond me.

As someone who used to take people on trips to Masca. I can assure you it is right on top of the coast and sea. It has very steep drops to the sea, and he would have died and possibly ended up in the sea if he tried negotiating it in the dark. The only way he could have walked back was to keep to the road route. It is not in the middle of Tenerife or Mount Teide, it is on the west coast.

@@raaaaasable Nobody can get lost on the road in and out of Masca. Have a look at any youtube video driving along the road to Masca. It's the most visited village in the entire Spain. Tourist buses flood in from two directions starting at 9 am. By 10, it's impossible to get a parking spot. No way to get "lost" on that road.

He's probably been up for two days on drink and drugs, was dehydrated, came from the main road to maybe find some sort of shortcut , easier way down and got lost. What do you thinks happened?

He spoke twice to the woman who owned the remote air bnb. Why didnt he ask for water? Why didnt she offer a young boy a large bottle while he made the 2 hour wait for the bus? She said she was in her car and saw him walking in the wrong direction for the bus stop, and tet left him to get on with it. He wasnt ready to travel alone without family. And adults around him didnt behave like adults

The simple fact is that Tenerife is full of chancers like Jay, and the cops probably know it’s tied to the illegal trade in pills and powder. They ain't too bothered that one potential dealer got taken out.
