Not trying to be "that guy", but Tameshi, Reality Architect specifies when a noncreature permanent is returned to hand, so effects such as Fading Hope (return creature) won't trigger the draw. However, it's interesting to note that if you don't have a land to play on your turn, you can theoretically X = 0 her second ability to get back a 0 cost artifact (or enchantment I suppose) and re-play the land for a net 0 mana draw effect. Love the shout out for Tameshi. I’m gonna build my next EDH list with him at the head, there’s so much there, and it’s emblematic of all the things I love doing. Love your work Dev, so glad you’re still here
Looking good in that shredder shirt, my man. I hope you are feeling well and keep feeling well. I’ve been a patron for a long time, and even though I haven’t played standard in a long while, I’m always happy to support you.
I'm loving all the pro-enchantment possibilities. My favorite decks recently are ones where I sit behind a wall of enchantments that do all the work for me, and I don't have to worry about silly things like creatures, combat, opponents...
Dev scoring all cards: Portrait of Michiko is trash! *10 seconds later* I shouldn't have said that.... Dev in sleepers list: I love Portrait of Michiko!
You really sold me on Michiko's Reign of Truth. I think it's pretty good now. And I think it could get a lot better later this year when Brother's War comes out and we (presumably) see a whole new flood of artifact creatures.
Enchantress is one of my favorite styles, behind only Aristocrats, and this is going straight in. Speaking of garbage in Enchantress themes... it's hard to have garbage enchantments in Enchantress because there's almost certainly 2 or 3(or more) other payoffs just for casting it.
First off sending some love to the man from the place. Secondly Dankest Jank Thundering Raiju/Jugan Defends The Temple/Halana and Alena, partners/Swarm Shambler/ Oran-Rief Ooze/Ranger Class or Arni Slays the Troll. Maybe bad, but that will be my first deck of the season. Spread Love and be Kind!
I think a criminally underrated card is Virus beetle. Its an artifact creature burglar rats, which opens up a lot of synergy and consistency for those synergy based stragegies at low opportunity cost. While its better in formats where yorion is legal, its still going to be an extremely playable 2 cmc artifact creature surrounded by a lot of enabling synergies.
I really like sisters call too! In a tribal deck that creates tokens (I'm thinking humans splashing black) it can bring back a creature every turn for the cost of a 1/1 token.
Generous Visitor looks like the perfect card for Selesnya Enchantments, and I can't wait to brew with it. Jugan I think has some value as like a 2 of in that same Selesnya Enchantments deck I'm thinking. It'll be jank and it'll be delightful.
Spirit sisters call works great with saga's that are front loaded. Binding on turn 4 blows something up then gets you a land on 5 and you cast sisters and then at the end of that turn you sac binding and get something else back like a 2-3 mana saga that has fully went off. If you had another binding in your graveyard with sisters out and cast another you could get that back and blow something up and get a land then sac that one and get some other enchantment back. The Kami war would also be nice with this as both its first two abilities are really good and then if they kill the creature side you can get it back on the board to exile more and bounce and discard more. You could also run Farewell as a great sweeper to get rid of creatures and artifacts though you would probably not want to take out graveyards or enchantments ever.
There is a white saga in this set that exiles a creature with power 4 or greater when played. Spirit Sisters Call can swap back and forth between it and Binding to blow up everything big on your opponents board. I think there will be an enchantment based deck with enchantment creatures, sagas, the toad rider and Spirit Sisters Call that will generate tons of additional value. If all your other creatures are enchantment creatures, this card can sac the frog every turn to return an enchantment creature, and it entering the battlefield will make a new frog.
I think Raiju not counting itself with its ability is correct. Because you can stack the counter on him of you have no one else to put it on, and effectively still get that 1 point of damage that you'd get otherwise.
I know it's more a concept than a single card, but I do believe there is a very fun and powerful deck sleeping in ninjas and some other cards. A copy deck with sultai colors can do crazy things. I'm eager to play the new cards and see what rises to the top!
My favorite thing to think about with the toad rider is with the right sacrifice outlet that is free it technically says each time you cast an enchantment do that sacrifice outlet thing and also attack next turn then do some more sac outlet stuff still

I mean turn 5 i could cast alanalena with +2+2 that places +4+4 on the 22 token it's a lot of stats on board
Jugan + ninjutsu = OTK. Ninjutsu out the 1 drop ninja, burn like 5-6 mana for 6-7 damage. For later turns you can really end a game, you can split up the counters for better battlefield control. 1 mana ninja can be a flying 6/6 or 7/7 for 6 or 7

The big difference between now and WAR meta is that the answers to Planeswalkers were few and far between and expensive. Vraska's Contempt was prime removal at 4 mana because it could exile a walker at Instant speed, now we have several 2 mana options to kill a Planeswalker, 2 of which are Instant speed.
