Hyundai Kona Hybrid - Real Life Car Review

- The second generation Hyundai Kona has landed in the Hyundai showroom. As it's predecessor, the new Kona is available with three drivetrain options: the mild hybrid, the hybrid and EV. In this episode I'm driving the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid. Futuristic design, lots of tech but also a very traditional family SUV. Sorry for the poor audio in the drive segment, I'm working on that.

Good review. Here in Australia we have a 2 litre, a 1.6 turbo and this hybrid. Electric coming later. I’m considering this one, the hybrid.
Thanks for watching! I'll drive the Electric later this year.
I'd like to see you review the stereo as it has an 8 speaker Bose system and that's worth talking about ❤
I will do that in the upcoming Kona Electric test! Thanks for watching!
I hope you can get the 1.0 litre to test. I did drive a Bayon with that engine and it was fine but I’d like to see how it performs in the Kona.
I am trying to get my hands on a 1.0 T-GDI, hopefully I can publish a video soon. Thanks for watching!
Trying to decide between the Kona Hybrid and Kia Xceed PHev, new CHR or New Lexus LBX depending on price .. what do you think ??? M
Interesting question, I haven't tested the LBX and C-HR yet. The Toyota hybrid system is the best on the market, but the Kia and Hyundai systems perform really well, if you consider they're much less complex. If practicality in terms of interior and cargo space are your priority, then I'd recommend one of the Korean brands. If you prefer low running costs, the Xceed PHEV would be my choice (especially when you can charge at home). But if you prefer handling and driving pleasure, the C-HR and LBX should be on top of your list. And I must add, the Toyota counterpart of the LBX (Yaris Cross) offers fantastic fuel economy.
Can you do 140kmh in highway is it exhausting for the car because it has 160kmh top speed, and how much is the consumption at those speeds?
The car is very quiet at highway speeds, I don't have a dB measurement on it, but it is a car I could drive for hours on the highway. The top speed is limited by electronics (because of the rotational speed of the electric notor). So, it's not that the combustion engine is revving at redline. Thanks for watching!
What is the fuel efficiency at 150km/h at highways ?
Around 7 to 7.5 liter per 100 kilometers.

I wonder why Hyundai don't have a phev? (Or do they?)
Hyundai has the Tuscon PHEV, but that's their only plug-in hybrid on sale on the west-European market. I test drove that car last year, it's a very good car!
I could not hear you properly when driving. The car noise was too loud.
I'm aware of that, I'm working on better audio for these videos. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Mooi he Friesland
Toen was het beter weer dan op dit moment 😊
No spare wheel, major miss by this reviewer who wears a hat while he drives!
No car in any of these reviews has a spare wheel. In fact, no modern car over here is sold with a spare wheel. They all come with a repair kit and a tiny compressor. What's wrong with my hat?
