    This guy basically watched a bunch of cheap grinder videos and then repeated everything in one video. These are far from the best. Watch a video by someone who has actually made a cup of coffee like James Hoffman. Thanks for wasting my time.

    *This replaced a smaller Keurig that I owned for 6 years **MyBest.Kitchen** I wanted the convenience of the water receptacle and while this unit is much larger than the previous one, I'm very happy with my purchase. The only downside to this larger model is having to move it from under the cabinets to place the pod and refill it. I was able to rectify this by purchasing glide mats for small appliances. Now, it's perfect!*

    A handy review would be the best reasonably priced grinders that produce "consistent" results from espresso to however large you want to go if there is such a grinder. It would be handy to include capacity (20g, 40g, etc.) There is a LOT of fluctuation in the above units. Can't exactly compare apples to apples. Still there is a LOT of good info there.
    I think a more accurate title would have been "Top 10 Best Travel Manual Coffee Grinders" as one of the most prominent features discussed was how portable the grinders were or were not.

    1zpresso Q2 heptagonal is what I'm getting. It's burr set is very similar to the comandante c40. 1 reviewer said the coffee they brew is very close.

    Can't have a top 10 w/o:
    Comandante c40 - possibly the best brew hand grinder
    Kinu (either model) - possibly the best espresso hand grinder

    1Z is the only better one, but there are a lot way better Manual Coffee Grinders.

    According to James Hoffman, Porlex Mini feels like a toy, it feels really cheap, and it doesn't perform as well as any of the other higher end grinders he tested...

    • @skyh3r0es
      @skyh3r0es 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      yes because it was cheap and portability was its main feature,
      but i think porlex mini is a far outdated grinder with its ceramic burr,especially after timemore released chestnut nano beating porlex portability feature, imo it just feels pointless if you buy a porlex mini in 2021

    Regarding Construction, Ergonomics , precision settings ,ease of use, disassembling and cleaning - Kinu M47 . Best hand grinder possibly ever made.

      @Jon Woo Jaysus. $750 for a glorified spice grinder? This is like buying the $5K hot dog. Will it taste like a premier hot dog? Hmmm.......

    • @mtnshow1
      @mtnshow1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jon Woo I just bought a Steelcase chair, original price $2K because it was custom spec'ed. But I got it for $350 on offer up. It's less than a year old and in great shape. I am so glad I didn't buy this new because there is nothing this chair offers that is even remotely close to $2K, let alone $1K.
      I have a suspicion that the coffee grinder industry is similar to the ergonomic chair racket, haha.
      Either way, I went to the Helor site, based on your comment. And I'm seriously considering the Helor 101. Only around $250 and quality looks good. I can't justify anything more than that for something that pulverizes coffee beans--with no electric motor.

      @@mtnshow1 I got my kinu classic for $230 and the phoenix runs around $160 (tax included) - pricing for new through our local coffee forum discount of 20-30% off MSRP (Romania, where the factory is based). Most of us start on kinu. It's a tank.
      Haven't had a single person grab it and not be surprised by its heftyness.
      It's a shame they reach those absurd amounts in USA. They are great pieces of equipment.

    To anyone watching this, you are FAR FAR better off just skipping the Hario and the Porlex. They are not good and don't even offer good value imo.
    They can be slow to grind and do not produce great grinds.
    The Timemore C1/C2 is more expensive but is SIGNIFICANTLY better than either! Much better to just save up for this.
    It will be much easier and faster to use. It will also produce a better grind.

      Agreed. I have two different Porlexes models and the uniformity is just all over the map. I'd be lucky to get anything close to 40% in the medium sweet spot. It took me getting a Kruve sifter and Brewler to open my eyes to just how bad the situation really was. Boulders and dust as far as the eye can see 😑

    Porlex is way overpriced for what it is. It is essentially smaller but more expensive JavaPresse which is a complete joke and people only buy it because $40 for a grinder is not that bad when other options are easily $100+.
    Learned it the hard way that the difference of $50-$100 makes night and day. Harios, JavaPresse and Porlex all take way too long to make just one cup of coffee.

    The HandGround is poorly made and broke not once but TWICE on me in a less than a year’s time. The first time they replaced the broken part it took TWO MONTHS, because “management was on vacation”. Please do not give them your business folks, go Hario Skerton Pro (for budget), Timemore, or any other comparable variant. I switched to a Baratza Encore for now. I will be buying a commandante soon enough.

    Hario Mini has.”clicks’ and easy to reproduce - you did not mention that. - so you did not give a fair assessment. I compared several and found this works well.
