      He just spoke the truth. It’s nuts that ppl are buying into the fat positivity folks hustle. What’s infuriating about the Slaton sisters is Tammy has for sure been on disability for years. Their state pays for her housing, food and some poor caregiver that has to wipe her butt for her. They come from generational obesity and lack of education, so it’s likely their mother and other family members have been on gov programs for most of their lives. Her medical bills and funeral cost would also be covered at pretty much 100% being on Medicaid. Families like their’s make it so much more difficult for ppl with real disabilities to get the help they need.

    German shepherd story pissed me off but the whole government assistance thing got mw heated. I grew up literally dirt poor in Mexico like my living room floor was dirt and rocks. When i came to the states i watched my mom work herself to the bone to keep us fed and clothed. Then when me and my brothers were old enough we had to start working to so we could take some weight off my mothers shoulders. It boils my blood knowing lazy pieces of shit get free money from our taxes while there's people out there living paycheck to paycheck grinding as much as they can for a hope of a better life. Anyone who does that is a waste of space and oxygen in my opinion and they should feel ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the system. I get just as angry when i see someone driving a fancy car, wearing nice clothes and jewelry and they still have the nerve to use EBT.

    The term healthy weight exists for a reason... if one weighs too much the excessive fat can kill them, if they weigh too little the lack of nutrients can kill them. While this is a metric that will very wildly between height, gender and general body frame, it is still an important one that a lot of people disregard.

    Obesity should really be treated as akin to drug and alcohol addiction. It's not about making fun of you or putting you down for having the addiction, it's about addressing it for what it is and the real health risks and mental and emotional detriments that are a result of that addiction and about linking people with whatever therapy, treatment, and/or support that will maximize their chances of overcoming such a problem and living a happier and healthier lifestyle. Obesity has such resources but the public perception for obesity has become too sensitive and so many people don't even want to acknowledge that it is undeniably a negative lifestyle, so many people who would benefit from resources that are out there don't utilize them, if they even know they exist

Dragging around the extra weight combined with not nearly enough activity during the last two years resulted in a weight gain, so I adjusted my eating habits a little and in 3-4 months I was back at my regular weight.

    I ran across the 1000 pound sisters show and watched a few episodes. I'm all for personal responsibility, but that does not stop me from feeling sad that two people are making a living by showing how they are killing themselves, and they have no desire to pull themselves out of their situation. The episodes I saw had them at a weight loss surgery clinic. Apparently, they never followed through with that. This kind of obesity stems from some type of abuse or neglect, same as drug dependence issues. But then, the American system of enabling kicks in and people never get themselves out of it.

I now weigh 150 but am still not at my goal, still have some belly fat that I could lose. • @z0mn1a
    @z0mn1a 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Being morbidly overweight is not a disability and allowing those to have it only perpetuates the problems of obesity.
    On to my next point..
    Always go with your instinct. Your instinct may be lazy and hone in on the less important details such as someone's appearance, but your instincts exist for a reason. Don't allow yourself to feel guilty for being judgemental toward people, and of course always try to see people in the best light possible. But people are often grotesque or stupid for reasons and you are repelled away from them for reasons and you should listen to those instincts. Again, always try to find the good in people. But when you can't find any, stop reaching for it. It is not uncommon for people to fall into or even be brought up in bad situations, but it's not as common as you may think that people cannot get out of those situations with a little effort and ambition. People who are stuck in a situation are rarely stuck by anyone's doing but their own. And giving them support and attention only make you part of the reason they're stuck.

    • @joaquinelorrieta4203
      @joaquinelorrieta4203 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong, extreme obesity is a disability and your instincts won’t do shit to your society, do you know why is almost always your country men that are morbidily overweight? You have not public healthcare, your society doesn’t have a public approach to health, you don’t have a social obligation to your fellow country men, when you have public healthcare you have a fucking obligation to the system, to your fellow country men, if you’re this fucking obese you’re an expense to the state, to your fellow taxpayers, and you have a fucking ton of campaigns and information about a healthy weight so people be aware of their weight, and the rates of morbidly obese people are not that big.

      My father is an example of "perpetuating the cycle". He grew up with a racist abusive father and continued that onto my brother and myself. We however saw thru the bullshit early on(blessed we had a mother who helped guide us until she had the strength to break free from his abuse too) and removed him from our lives when we could. Some years later I get a call from my father playing the victim "ohhh boohoo why does no one care for me my life was tough growing up" to which I replied "and you made our lives hell to go thru yet we are not the hateful/abusive person you are. You had your choice, you took the easy way and held onto the hands of your demons while we had to fight off the demons you gave us to live happy-ish lives". Of course he didn't understand and I haven't heard from him since.

    • @hmcredfed1836
      @hmcredfed1836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole world was built by the elders and is based on the principle of "fake it to make it". The young are just smart enough to copy what they see works.
      Name me one big cooperation that doesn't keep screwing people for their own benefit. And governments don't really care.
      The 45 - 65 generation were blind and did not see what was going on, they were swimming in wealth and did not care!
      Everything that was built from 1940 to 1980 was built with non-existent money, all on debt. And now that this system of creating something out of nothing is collapsing, you blame the young people?
      Old people whine that their lives are so bad because it's getting harder and harder to maintain their absurdly high lifestyles, and blame the young people for it, unbelievable.
      Why didn't you just start your own fundraiser? It takes less than an hour. There are hundreds of videos on how to do it!
      If you are in such a predicament, I think it is IRRESPONSIBLE to trust someone else with that much money.
      It shows the attitude of someone who lives their life to let others do what is needed. When it doesn't work out, we complain and say "I didn't do it, it's not my fault, someone else fix it!".
      That makes me sick!
      The fact that America doesn't have a liberal health care system just proves my point! You don't care until it hits you and then you blame others!
      Every action like the Right to Repair movement, the ocean clean-up is done by young people who are fed up with old tyrannical structures telling them how to live their lives.
      The 45 - 65 generation loves to have the government tell them what to do. How many times have I heard "this is not against the law, is it?", without knowing it, people have become slaves of "law & order" wich they have absolute no controle over.
      I really hope that the boy will be fine, but the ignorance of your generation is just insane.
      It is the main reason why everything is getting out of hand at the moment.

    Just wanted to point out something with the "obesity on welfare" bit: yes it is self-inflicted (except in very rare cases), but it is still a serious debilitating condition, so the alternative as a society is to tell these people to go die. That said, perhaps we could middle ground by attaching strings to the welfare, requiring them to use support systems to get them back to somewhat healthier lifestyles, but as always, the problem becomes where do we draw the line? Not to mention the fact that getting people to go along with government mandates is already like plucking geese with garden shears.

Most things worth doing take time and effort and aren't a snap of the fingers. Yes if you've reached 700 pounds there is no immediate solution beyond death. It's not because other people have told you to do go die it's because you have chosen to throw your life away. 700 pounds is not a sustainable weight as he mentioned in the video. So your real options to actually survive are to somehow get healthy and learn to care enough about yourself to want to live a healthy life, or don't and die. It's really that simple.

    They threw away the receipts? I heard Blizzard was hiring, Blizzard might be interested in their unique skill set.

    Honestly, I think when people go around putting others down, it just tells us a lot about them. Happy people _DON'T_ go around putting others down... Unhappy people do.

      Just move on! If you don't have anything nice to say, just keep quiet & move on. There's _always_ a way to be constructive & not be rude.

    this is how it works in my country (EU area): there can be congenital or illness related condition that cause you to be overweight and are eligible to disability paychecks. one simple example is diabetes.
    but unless you are diagnosed with such an issue you are not going to get paychecks for being willingly fat, you might get it if being overweight causes you to lose mobility but then ,you're getting the paychecks for the mobility loss not for the overweight.

      What logic is this, oh im really fat and can't move but my disability isn't due to being fat, what kind of circular logic is that?
