I've done this exercise 3 times in the last day, and I no longer feel the pain in my left shoulder that's been annoying me for the past few months. Amazing.
Connecting the Fascia Wetsuit from top to bottom with this sort of exercise has a way of healing injuries. I see it all the time with my private clients. Congratulations on your progress.
Wow...amazing exercise. I practiced over the weekend. I got the timing down with the breathing, arms, and heel raise. HUGE difference. Each rep feels like I'm floating upwards instead of using lots of effort like before.
Fantastic. The arms floating upward is fascia strength doing the lion's share of the work instead of muscle contraction. The muscles are still being used but not nearly as much. Anchor the feeling of your arms and heels floating upwards into your mind so you can recall that feeling whenever you want. Congratulations on hitting a home run on this exercise.
I just did 3 sets of 10 and feel great. Like you said, it cleared my head and gave me an energy boost. Must be from matching the breath and movement. I referred a friend to your program, and he purchased it. We've been doing the exercises together and making lots of new discoveries. Loving it.
Good job finding the energy boost and mind clearing with this exercise. You must be correctly aligning the 3 bodies...physical, emotional, and mental. I often do this exercise (or a similar one) in the morning or if I'm feeling stressed. Get stronger and clear my mind at the same time. Thanks for checking in.
Subscribed! What a great channel. I'm 68, healthy, with no interest in gyms or weight training. I just love to move naturally, mostly outdoors, and your movements feel intuitively right! Thank you very much. 🍁 🌞 🌱
Welcome aboard. You've found a home because I feel the same way about exercise as you. Moving intuitively while being guided by movement principles (breathing, good alignment, moving from center and strong feet) gives you the power to transform your body into something great. Thank you for reaching out.
Hi! I've heard we young people should exercise with weight training, as softer non-extra weight exercises could not be enough stress for our bodies. Is that true? (I'm a woman in my late 20s, I just do aerobics exercises like dancing at the moment. I just want to do whatever my body needs, I just don't know what it needs 😅)
@@ZurditaDinamita I'm not qualified to answer that. I do know that personally I won't stick with anything that I dread doing. My free weights are gathering dust because I don't enjoy using them. I like to be outside, so anything I can do in nature feels right for me. Other than that, I do small things like walk up all stairs, and carry my own luggage in the airport, and I rarely see anyone else doing that, at any age. I believe in the old saying "use it or lose it." 😊
Generally speaking, when you add a load (weights, bands, etc) to an exercise, make sure that it's not so heavy that it forces your body out of good alignment and/ or causes you to hold breath. This will prevent you from beating up your body with heavy weights before you're ready. Go up in weight gradually while focusing on keeping good alignment and breathing. NEVER sacrifice more strength for less agility. Thank you for the great question that can help others.
Thanks for the video. I want to give it a try for some things I am working on. Video appears to align with taiji/qigong body alignments. One thing you may want to consider, internal martial arts alignments include "hollow the chest". Grand Master Kuo interpreted this as a neutral or flat chest (neither concave or convex).
I agree with Master Kuo's "neutral" chest wording. The cueing words "hollow the chest" is often taken too far with people. They hollow too much and end up rounding the shoulders excessively and causing a pronounced thoracic curve. I do the same thing you're doing...I play with different disciplines and sources to find the best way to improve myself and clients. It's a lot of fun. Thank you for the great input.
Pillar stance 9 in bagua circle walking. Keep heels on ground and pick up toes theb point with each step while holding hands up and keeping head suspended and looking towards the middle. Where did you learn about fascia wetsuit?
"Fascia Wetsuit" is my term to help people picture in their mind something tangible as they try to understand fascia strength (strength from elasticity). Internally stretching the Fascia Wetsuit, like pulling back a slingshot band, creates elasticity in your body. Thank you for the insightful comment.
Jack, how many reps does it take to clear your mind? I did 5 reps this morning and felt noticeably more calm and better prepared to take on the day. Powerful feeling.
Nice work. You're on the right path. I can change my state (more relaxed, more energy) with one slow rep. I take a slow deep breath while doing the arm and heel raise all at the same time. It's a powerful tool to have as a human. If the masses knew how it would put a lot head doctors out of work.
Cool. It's a good warm up exercise for the kids. Give them a reward if they can match the breathing with the arm and heal raise. Have them breath audibly so they can more easily put it all together. Let me know how it goes.
I agree...but only when done correctly. It's my experience that many Qigong and Tai Chi practitioners (and teachers) don't get the proper internal stretch of the Fascia Wetsuit. Some are too tight and many more are too relaxed with a wet noodle structure. Developing fascia strength requires you to find that sweet spot where the Fascia Wetsuit is internally stretched just right to produce elasticity throughout the body. Thanks for the comment.
@@jackthompsoncoaching I bet you are familiar with zhan zhuang or tree pose/horse stance variations? It is precisely an internal fascia exercise/meditation.
Yes, I'm familiar. You could say I'm modifying traditional postures from Zhan Zhuag by including movement rather than just holding the posture. Throw in some breathwork and you have a great exercise that gives people lots of mileage. Thanks for the insightful comment.
@@jackthompsoncoaching Thanks for the quick reply, I will follow your channel, i suffer from psoas syndrome few years now and currently trying to heal with PRI, somatic movements and some mindfulness, past few years I cannot hold a static position, so I am researching for new methods such as yours.
You're spot on. Fascia strength training teaches you to use your body's untapped elasticity strength. You're still using your muscles. Your new strength from elasticity is complimenting your muscles for a more efficient way to power your movement. Makes you very athletic and has a healing effect on the entire body.

Literally doing Zhan Zhuang, also present in certain postures of Tai Chi.

My 7th grade gym class did a great job with this exercise. I had them watch this video in class for instructions. Thanks!
You're very welcome. Tell the kids to keep up the great work.
The Mind-Body Connection on full display. Working the Strength and Power program daily. Slow and steady pace is resulting in solid outcomes.
Congratulations on your results. I agree with slow and steady...I tell my clients, "Steady trickle fills the bucket."

Yea I agree. We need to fight back against modern medicine when the only answer is try this pill. Thanks for bringing awareness to this.
I'm having my 7th grade phy ed class do this exercise in class tomorrow. Any suggestions?

What if you don’t have a bat
Just watching that gave me a coughing fit, I've got covid😢. But as soon as I can breathe without coughing I'm going to do that.
Wishing you a full recovery my friend.

So do some belly dancing with a bar over head to some music and low lighting would work also .
Yes it would. The free movement of dancing with an aligned structure and Moving from Center is great training. I like your creativity.
I like the fascia wetsuit picture in the videos. Relax the muscles and let the stretch in the fascia wetsuit do part of the work, right?
