Yep, I climbed up the logging road from town to do Alpine on my e-bike this summer. Leaving the 6,000-lb truck in town is the greener shuttle option as well
I live in oakridge, it’s such a good place but fires can get pretty bad in the summer. Still a great place for all kinds of bikers alike! I just got a new mountain bike so I’m gonna fix up the front tire, then ride on the trails! We also have a small group for kids to ride/race bikes called nica. Great team, I’m going to join it and my 6th grade teacher leads it! Although I’m in 8th, still love all of oakridge!
Thanks for this one! I rode the Cascade Cream Puff in ‘97, ‘98 & ‘99. Loved Oakridge back then and still love it. It is the reason we moved from Florida to Oregon. Now I’m old and I just need an ebike to relive those trails!
Nick’s vision for the Transcascadia camp ground is amazing! Game changer for sure! Don’t forget to stop by the Mercantile Exchange for your biking needs and the deli at the grocery store for some sandwiches.
Glad to see you guys showcasing e-mtb friendly destinations! I get tired of all the No E-bike signs around Moab, Sedona, Bend, and my hometown of Steamboat. Brought my e-mtb and two acoustics/banjos on a road trip to Oregon in July and loved it. Post Canyon in Hood River is also e-bike friendly
It's news to me that ebikes are welcome on the Oakridge trails, but also confusing. How does the Willamette NF decide which trails are ok for ebikes and which are not, and what's the logic? For example, Waldo's not, Middle Fork's not. Is there a comprehensive list of ebike friendly trails in the Willamette NF? I thought the Forest Circus tended *not* to allow ebikes at all!
It is dependent on districts and Oakridge has plenty of moto-legal trails which is why the eBike access is allowed from our understanding... We'd suggest reaching out to your local district office for confirmation on access.
Hey guys, really enjoyed the vid and have a loaded question for you. I'm looking to get my first e bike, and just curious which Motor platform do you recommend. I tried a budies levo and it felt ok. But just curious which system you enjoy most. Thanks for any advice
That being said… the motor isn’t the whole picture! Haha. We’d rather have some Shimano bikes than Bosch bikes based on suspension/geo and the “mountain bike” performance.
@@TheLoamWolf , I totally get that, I looked at several specs and watched your 2022 ebike shootout (specifically for a trail bikes) unfortunately specialized is a little pricey. I live in Monterey CA, Is there a bike you guys didn't have during the test but still have high praise for? Like the Trace E or even the new trek EX E for example that you recommend? Thanks again for the feed back
My god man it's a flag... I don't choose my mtb destinations by if they decide to put a flag on it.. If it matters that much to you bring your own damn flag. You can put it on your bike, and wear red white and blue riding gear all you want. Then everyone will know how American you are...
Coming from Europe is is staggering the amount of flags you see in North America... my guess is if your country has has only 200 years of history, this is one of the things you need to wave, to show/strengthen your presence, we in Europe do not have actual history, so so not do that, it is considered cringe.
Dude, chill. It’s a flag, we were hosting a lgbtq+ bike event and sorta thought it looked good so it stayed up. You wanna put a different flag up on your stuff, go for it.
YES! So looking forward to this tour! All 50 States?
Game changer on an ebike for Alpine trail!

I am so happy to see the welcome of EMTB. Absolutely beautiful area and yes I’m jealous!
Love Oakridge. It's a great town and community. Very bike friendly.
Yo! Great video🔥You guys have been killing it this year with the variety of content. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you at Sedona 2023!🤟🏽

Thanks for the additional tips
This is an amazing series! Thank you for sharing the experience
A "little bit of climbing on the way down," lol. Strava says I did 2600ft from the drop off back to the bike shop in town.

Our pleasure! we appreciate the feedback as we'd love to keep this series going!
Glad you guys got this is before we were smothered in smoke! Thanks for coming to town!
Oh the smoke was definitely there… gave us a nice soft glow. Luckily we got in and out one day before it really hit!
How are the trails now? Are they open with the fire close by? Want to come down and ride in the next month or so.
These business trips are amazing!
Looks amazing.
I'm sold, I'm going. You should check out Mt. Shasta area. Tons of building going on out there
We definitely want to go there.
I gotta say that seven idp helmet, aint the one!
We stopped by here on our way back from our Bend Oregon show. Group decision was that Alpine was one of the best we've done!
Yeah! It's a good one for sure.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
moon point!!!!!
You guys should hit up blackrock! We have tons of e-bike riders
Could be our next stop!
I live in Oakridge Oregon
I'm jellious of your mountain trails
Maybe one day i'll get a chance to to your side of the pond
And i might even bring a union jack lol.
Do it!! Come on over
I'll keep in touch about it

Thanks for watching. We’d probably say from a motor standpoint, Bosch.

Nice segment! Did you use a shuttle with the e-bike?
Thank you. Yes we did as filming takes a lot of time and we wanted to hit as many locations as we could.
@@TheLoamWolf Yeah, that makes sense. How feasible is it to pedal from the bottom up to the start of Alpine on the Canyon Spectral ON?
It's super feasible, it just might take 45 to an hour to pedal the fire road to the top. Hard saying how much juice it'll suck down though.
@@TheLoamWolf Seems like that should be well within the range of the Spectral ON with the 900 w/h battery.
BEWARE, Oakridge has an extremely bad Drug & thieving problem!
Where's the American flag 🇺🇲 on that one lodge?! I suppose cutting potential clients by 90% is up to them 🤷♂️

Just shut up
You can be a proud American without being a nationalist moron. Keep your flag in you bedroom playtriot
