Some of them discredit my fear, others just don’t even give it a second thought. But the kindest nurses I’ve ever had always talk to me. They take time to slow down and see me, as a person, and care that I’m in turmoil. They Care. Those ones are the real ones. I am so, so so grateful for them. Thank you for helping save my life, despite how paralyzed I am with fear. I’m getting ptsd reprocessing therapy now btw. It’s really starting to help :)

As a child I knew so much about high school topics because my brothers were much older than me and every day when I came home from school, one of them would talk to me for a little while while they watched me for our parents. I'd get to hear about biology, chemistry, history, etc and I thought they were the smartest people on the planet. My dad would talk to me about his pharmaceutical research and I mostly wouldn't understand, but when I went in to work with him I'd see something I recognized and be so proud. My mom started studying for her masters when I was in middle school and I was SO proud of myself for remembering the words I helped ehr memorize for her GRE, and ended up wanting to follow the same career path as her after hearing her talk about her work so much. Sharing knowledge can feel absolutely magical to people who know so much less than you.
