AI James Hetfield Sings Holy Wars

- I managed to make James Hetfield sing Holy Wars by Megadeth. AI is an amazing thing, and it's mindblowing to think that I got a result this good relatively easily. Imagine how great it will sound in a few years! This is using a custom RVC V2 voice model. The best advice I can give for training models like this is if you put garbage in, you will get garbage out. So make sure the dataset you train your model off of has good-quality audio with no reverb.
Vocals start at 1:27. Also, Make sure to check out my MOP Cover: th-cam.com/video/NGZp3P_wvuQ/w-d-xo.html
hello
Why you wanna skip the riffs?
Thanks for the courtesy, Dave owns this song, but the mix is certainly playlist approved.
brother will kill brother, yeah
impossible. James would never go an entire song without a single “yeah”
You listened to "one"?
@@boardy2971or the entire Ride the Lightning album 🫢
Holy Waaars! OH YEAH! YEAH YEAH!
And he never said "Dough"!!!! Like he did in Dyers Eve and Damage Inc. And Homer Simpson!!!
There is a significant correlation between James' Yeahs and Bob Rock producing the respective album. One can assume Bob either encouraged it or was the only Metallica producer who didn't try to stop it. Since to my knowledge Bob Rock didn't produce Rust in Piece, it seems plausible James could keep his Yeahs to himself for a song or two.

It was so cool when Hetfield used to sound like this.
same
TBH He sounds as cool now, but just different. Although there were dark times when he sounded like ass.
@@IMajst3RI True, I do appreciate the fact thata throughout his carreer he managed to cover, even though probably involuntarily, a wide spectrum of vocal ranges and styles in order to find the one that he mostly feels comfortable singing in
*yodels*
I saw them this Friday and Sunday night. He sounded amazing. Incredible show. Whole band sounded and looked so great. I personally preferred Sunday night.
Honestly, we need an AI Mustaine singing Phantom Lord.
Jump In The Fire also🤘
He have singed It, search it
@@marcosgabryel2588 I’ve seen Jason Newsted sing it while Dave played but never Dave singing it.
Surely ai Dave can sing better than Dave himself right?

you know what....... dave's voice truly fits megadeth, and james for metallica.
dave's "snarl" fits the sharp, twisted, and angsty attack of megadeth
while james' deep growls fit the huge mighty chugga-chugga metallica pummeling
I think they voice perfectly collides
You said it just the way I was thinking. Dave sounds way better in this song.
dave’s pathetic vocal’s doesn’t fit anything,maybe the looney tunes

Definitely 80's Hetfield sounding. Kicks ass though. ✊🏻
AJFA era sounding voice, which would've been appropriate around the time Rust in Peace came out, which is also sick
The guy who worked on the AI deserves equal respect. Hats off 👏
Or perhaps, Hets off? Huh? Huh?… I’ll show myself out.
Nice job! This is the first Hetfield AI cover of Holy Wars that doesn't sound more like Dave than it does James
I feel like we aren't too far off from indistinguishable AI voices, just look at how far they've come in the past 6 months.
This is really good. Scary good. It’s scary that AI can do this.
Seriously….it’s pretty freakin scary.
Your president is AI
Wait until we start making our own AI supergroups! And writing original material.
Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen on guitar, John Paul Jones on Bass, and heck, let's throw Keith Moon on drums.
Hail satan
@@scottmcley5111 I want to see Lombardo Cliff Hetfield and Mustaine in an AI band
This song would be too high for james but. What a pleasure for the ears
tornado of souls is to high for him, this one no
Pleasure? More like nails on a chalkboard. Sounds absolutely disgusting.
@gaellopez-vt7ue James and Dave sing the same notes, most of the time is E and G, in tornado of souls Dave sings F# and A, so does James in trapped under ice the one that struggles with highs is Dave thats why his voice is weaker
His best vocals are on hangar 18 for wich instead of singing on E he sings on D (one tone lower) and he sounds more powerful
@@Unglued98 James is def more of a baritone than Dave
I don't know sometimes James still sing metal militia

best AI version of James i heard so far.
sounds like him and not Dave with another voice, really cool
In an alternate universe where Mustaine didn't punch James and wasn't as much of an alcoholic
That's a boring universe. Instead we got Two amazing bands for different tastes
@@gansior4744Exactly, I don't know why people want to change what was the perfect outcome
@@gansior4744Very correct. And to be honest, James and Dave in the same band could never happen, in the long term. It was just a temporary thing until James learned to become self-confident, and practiced like a motherfucker to be a decent rythm guitar player, within a few months. When Dave joined the band, James was still trying to find his place. I think James and Lars just wanted a pretext to kick Dave out of the band. The drinking episodes were what they needed. They used Dave as a teacher, and when his job was done, they fired him. Dave was never meant to be a full time member. He is a natural born leader, and Metallica is James and Lars' property.
@@HeathenDanceYeah the ego clash would've torn the band apart eventually if Dave wasn't kicked out when he was. I can't see a world in which he'd be creatively satisfied in Metallica without basically turning it into Megadeth. Just looking at how he's run Megadeth should give you an idea of his creative mindset. He needs to be piloting the ship. No way in hell would James and Lars be happy with that. It was a doomed lineup.
Awesome . "In my darkest hour" next please 🙏🏻
Aw idk if I want to hear that. Too iconic Dave, his voice makes that song. It's first principles guitar work and Dave's soul
Man! Good idea! Let's gooooo!
You should do "Four Horseman" with Dave singing, only speed it up, change the lyrics, and make the production sound like it cost him $200 to record it.
😂😂😂
wait a minute....🤔
ughhh.........Mechanix anyone?
Lmao
I see what you did there... but $200?? $20...😂
It’s honestly annoying that many metal fans overlook the importance James Hetfield had on Megadeth. He wrote virtually all the riffs for rust in peace though most people think of Mustaine as the head of the band not knowing that JAMES WROTE EM’ ALL
What?
😂😂😂😂😂😂 No, Dave wrote all of Rust In Peace with minor input from Friedman, Ellefson, and Menza. James Hetfield had NOTHING to do with writing any of Rust In Peace; your assertion is ridiculous.
Wait: LOL! This is exactly what people say about Dave writing pretty much all of Kill 'Em All, nice joke; glad I caught it. 😂
WHOOSH, these dudes don’t understand sarcasm 😂
I see what you did here. ;)
I don't even know what's real anymore. All I know is that Jimmy Page ripped off Kiko Loureiro for Run to the Hills's guitar solo.
Best version yet
No its not. Original is original.
@@martinesiczech434I wonder if they meant the best AI version yet? In which case I agree, (whether James fits the song or not) this did come out pretty well. If they didn't mean that then I agree with you.
Well hold on to your hat, cuz an AI Elvis version is next!!!
@@martinesiczech434Not even close
In an alternate universe where Dave gets kicked out, but James couldn't bear it and decided to become Megadeth vocalist as a side project
James vocals would be incredible on Megadeth songs.
Yes. More rasp and snarl without the whiney nasily voice of Mustaine, who can sing, just not as well imo.
tbh i think dave has a better delivery when it comes to lyrics
@@sttrsp9700 I do love Dave's singing on their records. Hetfield would sound killer as well.

Fuck yes
But lars never could have played this song
He would... just with 100 mistakes 😂
Sure he could. There's always a simpler form to the beat
Haha. Stop it
dave's voice just fits better on megadeth, it's as unique as the riffs they play and the solos.
Dave can sing, but his octave was too high without any rasp (like Hetfield), and sounds nasiky and whiney, imo. The fact Dave can sing as well while playing guitar is nothing to dismiss either.
Dave is good on album, but fucking bad on stage.
No it doesn't. You say that only because he ended up doing the vocals
@@theofiloshatzigiannis5308 it's just an opinion, i'm not stating the truth, it's all comes down to personal tastes anyway.
@@ME-eu9sfI saw both back in the early 90s. In my opinion Megadeth was way better live than Metallica. They used way less studio magic, so it sounded just like the albums.
Anthrax and Slayer were both pretty impressive back then too. And you haven't really experienced Iron Maiden until you've seen them live. They are better live than on recording.
Should have been a good “yeah” after holy wars. 🤘🏻
You can still hear Dave in the background lol.
James voice on his prime.... AJFA!!! 💥
I honestly think megadeth should do a feature with Metallica or at least with James, I think that would be cool
That would never ever ever ever happen
They're definetly not doing that
They did that, it's called kill em all lol
Look up Metallica and Megadeth playing live “Am I Evil?” , that’s the closet you will ever get to your wish
This sounds badass
Daves voice is not as strong as this AI Hetfield ). But the original vocals have some unique dynamics to the sound that i like.
The original song is God damn perfect. This is a really cool video tho. James voice does work quite nicely.
@@Somber.Killernicely ??
James breaks the sky with this voice..
Dave Mustaine is a good singer but anyone who says Mustaines sound more better even in this Song is truly biased.

Holy shit, I got mega chills when he came with "Waaaaage the war..."
James' voice sounds so intense. It's fucking awesome.
Holy Waaaaarsaah!
This is amazing, I'm really disturbed by it. Great job!! 💗
Imagine giving a tape with this to Dave back in the day
He would shit himself
That's actually really good, James vocals worked well in this track but surprisingly Dave's work better, to my ears at least.
Lars: “Who wrote these FOKKEN DRUM LINES?! They’re too hard. PERIOD! Exclamation point!”
Never had this thought, but I'd love to hear some songs covered by each of them. Imagine the album; Metallica covers 3 Megadeth songs, Megadeth covers 3 Metallica songs. Covering 'em All... and Covering is Good.
Awesome Idea. Metallica and Megadeth both rule! 🤘
That James from ''Justice'' era, angry and powerful like on Blackened.
In another universe where James picked Dave over Lars to write music.
way better than I had expected
Well....now I want to hear James actually sing this.
As a Huge Megadeth fan and a somewhat Metallica fan I find this Blasphemy appalling ! but pretty interesting and cool at the same time ! 😁😁😎😎
It's an amazing blasphemy...kinda like what most of heavy metal is all about anyway...

Holy shit. That was unreal.
Symphony of Destruction with Hatfield's master of puppets/ajfa vocals please!
Yeah I'd love to hear that
Next: please add the "yeaaaaàh" that's so hetfield
I have heard a few of these and they sound really good. Some lines are lacking Dave’s snarl, but the line “Fill the cracks in, with judicial granite” always hits harder in James’ voice.
Imagine playing this to Metallica around the time this came out. It would have absolutely melted their brains.
This would really send Dave over the edge 😂
Nobody going to talk about how scary AI is getting?
old style Hetfield 😎
Now do an AI version of Mechanix with James singing the 4 Horseman lyrics.
This sounds absolutely nasty in the best way👍🏼
basically what would've happened if dave never got kicked out of metallica
*THAT* is amazing! Good job!
OMG this is just perfect like i always imagine
In all seriousness? This could work. Dave and james could join up and do eachothers songs.
Vocals on the album, ...and Justice for all. This was amazing, I liked it more than with Dave.
Damn... We need more versions like this cuz it really do be helping the song itself. Because honestly the music itself kicks ass but the daves singing could be better.
"Could be better" i.e it sucks haha. Lets be real, Megadeth isn't known for the Singing and that's ok
Not that James is a great vocalist…
Imo dave fits the music well
@@guieming3018 he's not great but he sounds more heavy and matured... It's actually funny how they switcheroos because from 1981 to like 1986 Dave did sound a bit heavier but after that James balls dropped I guess and he started singing way better on ajfa and the black album.
Dave's voice is perfect. That's what makes Megadeth Megadeth. Other people may not like how he sounds, but to me, his voice is perfect. It separates him from everyone else. I don't need perfection, I need Megadeth🤘
Hey, this is pretty good! Dave & James should be in a band together!
Before Dave pops out of nowhere and mentions it….Dave used to be in metallica
Last time that happened, it didn't go so well
Interesting concept. Makes me ponder just what if, and only if....they could get together and chill, and jam on some stuff, without all the nonsense getting in the way. The way it should be. Just two brothers in metal, jamming and having fun. Like what it all was about when we all started out , getting into music and enjoying life. Now society is garbage, and the whole world feels like a hellish nightmare most of the time.
Okay this actually enhances Holy Wars, sorry Dave.
This actually sounds pretty badass. 🤘🏻
I like the image of Dave sitting in a basement suite with no furniture, putting the finishing touches on this new song that he's entitled "Godly Battles". He turns on the radio to relax, a simple reward for a job well done, and Metallica's "Holy Wars" comes on. Dave crumples up the paper that he was writing on and says "How the fuck does he keep doing this to me?!"
Then the landlord comes by to collect the rent.
Good!!! Would be amazing to see Metallica cover this, but seems would be impossible for Kirk and Lars to play.
Kirk is in great shape again, and his most complex solos are a lot more difficult to play than those of Holy Wars. I don't think James would be able to play and sing this at the same time, though. Most Metallica's riffs are easier to play than these. Those of the first section, until the acoustic solo kicks in, at least.
None of Kirks solos have ever been as hard to play as Holy Wars bro lol@@HeathenDance
Lars would have a stroke
it's sad but truuue
@@profkana Are you a guitar player? Holy Wars is far from being a tough solo to play. It's relatively short, and mostly improvised (Mustaine himself confirmed this). If you don't know how to shred, you will need a few days of practice, but besides that, the notes which are used are close to each other, you won't have much trouble getting to them. That being said, the quality of a solo isn't necessary based on it's technical difficulty. Kirk has long, complex solos, which are a lot harder to COMPOSE, and to MEMORIZE, for example. Tons of them in the Justice album, the one from Ride the Lightning, a couple from Orion, and his solo from Ktulu. The song "The God that Failed" also has an excellent long solo, which few people mention.
I could still hear the voice of dangerous Dave singing through him.
I would love to hear a Bruce Dickinson version…
Check out Raphael Mendes. He does some awesome covers sounding just like classic Bruce.
This is And Justice for All James. Miss those days
This sounds incredible. But I still prefer the original. Mustaines voice is too unique and suits perfectly for this song.
This is way better than the original. Dave should just let Hetfield do the vocals for both bands 😂
Kinda cool to see all these hypothetical situations metal heads have talked about actually be executed using AI.

Agree with you there brother🤘 I feel like the only people saying James sounds better are Metallica fans. It's not a matter of sounding better. It's a matter of fitting what you're trying to do, and Dave is literally perfect for Megadeth. NO ONE ELSE would be able to do Killing is my Business or Peace Sells like Dave. His vocals on those albums are just what the world needed. Pure Thrash Metal🤘
@@RA-gy1ft When it comes to studio recordings, at least, I can tell you Dave's vocals, are a lot harder to sing, from a technical point of view. Some very tough notes to reach, and some tempos are really hard and intricate. Those albums you mentioned are good examples, and also my favourite Mega-album, So Far So Good So What. The song Mary Jane is tough as nails to sing. Not bashing James', but yeah, his vocals are a lot easier to follow, by a mile. Still great, nevertheless.
