The food is overall excellent to me. The ONLY bad experience I've ever had is I got a dessert from the HHN tribute store one year and it was kind of stale. Everything else I've ever gotten has been, at a minimum, good.
I know Quincy says to go watch the other videos about eating in Universal, but how did Florean Fortescue's not get a mention in this video? If I lived in Orlando, I would have to get a Universal annual pass and part of it would be just so I could get Florean Fortescue's ice cream.
I agree that the Universal hotels have more to offer than Disney with the reasonable price and express pass included in the deluxe category. That said, we are not thrill ride enthusiasts so we prefer Disney. However, I am very excited for Epic Universe so it may pull crowds from Disney and make my Disney experience better.
My last visit I couldn't go on the more extreme rides (it's an eye problem) but I still filled four days! You just have to go in not focusing on the thrill rides.
@mickeytollison To be fair, Disney *sometimes* has free dining for *some* of their hotel guests. Universal *always* has the free Express Pass for *all* of their Deluxe guests (but none of the lower priced guests). Oh, and Universal has the boats to take you to and from the parks at mid-tier and above. I think when we stayed at Saphire Falls, that was our favorite ride!
@@CritterKeeper01I have been every month of the year to Disney and have never had to buy a meal plan. Free every single time. And the free express with deluxe? Universal people only make a big deal out of the express pass because Universal has priced it so crazy. $80-$320 a day?!?!? And you don’t even want to start comparing transportation. Bus, boat, skyliner, monorail…..how would you like to ride?
I would say the competition for the two best rides isn't Hagrid's and Rise of the Resistance but Hagrid's and Velocicoaster. Rise of the Resistance is a lot of fun but Hagrid's and Velocicoaster clear it easily though to be fair, Rise of the Resistance more people can ride as it's height requirement is lower and intensity factors makes it more accessible.
There is a difference between themed rides and roller coasters. You can’t compare the 2. My son is 7 and we can enjoy RotR and Guardians together. He won’t be tall enough to ride Velocicoaster for years. For that reason alone Disney will get more families money.
It's an apples and oranges comparison. Hagrid's and rise are 2 different types of rides. One is a family coaster, and the other is a trackless dark ride.
@@travelertrome8449 I don't think it's better than both but I do think it's in the discussion. Rise is a great ride but Cosmic Rewind is a great ride from beginning to end. The backward launch, the music, it gets so many things right and is just a blast that it's definitely up there. I love Rise but the track system, while solid, just isn't special.
Two companies, two different experiences. Universal more for thrills, Disney more for rides your kid can actually get on. HHN at Universal beats anything I've been to after hours at Disney. One you can't see everything in a week's time, the other 3-4 days max. Both are getting greedy. I think Universal treats their passholders better than Disney. I'm a Harry Potter nut, so I like the HP areas the most at Universal. I'm also a Star Wars nut and really think Disney missed the boat by not having Star Wars as a 5th gate instead of the tremendous failure known as Galactic Starcruiser with it's multi-thousand dollar price tag. I really liked the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal, but being DVC also like the Beach Club/Boardwalk resorts. Simply because you can walk to some parks in short time. Mythos is probably the best theme park food I've had, but it's still theme park food. Le Cellier is a close 2nd, but still nothing compared to what you can get outside the theme park world. Both park systems have their pros and cons, neither have what I would call "deal breakers" to where I won't visit, yet. Whichever you choose, and there are no laws against choosing both, just enjoy it. After all, it's supposed to be fun.
I think Universal is wonderful but only have a few IPs my kids are into yet so we don't go. I think this is the thing with universal if you don't enjoy the films the parks aren't for you but Disney isn't totally film lead (going more that way) so more likely to appeal to more people.
I only go to Universal for HP. I thought Disney did immersion, atmosphere, and ambience well until I went to Universal and saw what they do to make you feel like you are IN Harry's world. It's mind blowing. But, when I walk around outside of HP, Jurassic, and Marvel areas, the other areas feel soooooo outdated and it always makes me wonder why they haven't been overhauled to more current IP. I love the Simpsons (80s kid) and the older seasons are some of my most precious TV memories, but they need to change things there to make it more interesting. Betty Boop? Who under 70 likes Betty? Toon Lagoon? WHY?
@@AllEarsNet We have 2 in Houston, and there's been one in Austin for at least 6 years.... doesn't mean I don't stop at the Citywalk Voodoo Donuts when I'm leaving Universal ;)
Lockers are not always complimentary. If you have a backpack due to family supplies, you have to pay. Then if you are stuck in a long line, you have to pay even more when you get back to your locker if it has been over the limit. Happens often on Hagrid's or Velocicoaster. Oh, and by the way, the credit card you need to pay for the added time is in the locker you cannot get into!! Universal does a lot of things well, but this particular one is ridiculous!!
I always love it when AE has some Universal content. The rides, overall, at Universal > WDW imo. WDW has Tower of Terror and Soarin' which are two of my favorite rides and Universal doesn't have anything like those that are as good (Universal has Dr. Doom's Fear Fall which is terrible, especially compared to Tower of Terror imo). But overall the rides at Universal are more thrilling and fun than anything at WDW. Nothing at WDW compares to Hagrid's, Velocicoaster, or Hulk imo. Rip Saw Falls and JPRA are my two favorite water rides in any park and are better than any water rides Disney has imo. The Express system is far superior to WDW's (especially if you stay at one of the three premiere hotels which have the Unlimited Express pass included). Mythos and the two restaurants in the Wizarding World (Leaky Cauldron and Three Broomsticks) are fantastic (so are other places, but those are my favorites). I'm not a fan of Confisco though. I think it's just meh overall, especially compared to their other restaurants (both sit-down and quick service). Quincy loses points for bashing Race Through New York: Starring Jimmy Fallon (I like that ride), but she gets points for the line "Shrek is here, and that's all that matters."
With all of the new things coming to Universal this summer and with Epic Universe opening next year, if they play their cards right, these parks will definitely give Disney some good competition. And besides..Bananas are good!!..Gopa Caree Quincy!!
Better if you're a teenager or young adult. Not better if you are a small child or older adult and have ride limitations and don't get me started when it comes to trying to find somewhere to sit in the shade at Universal during the hot summer months.
@@CritterKeeper01You have just proven his case. All Ears makes me think of Mickey. Due to their expansion (and Disney bashing), they need a name change.
They are just trying to kiss up to universal a little because of epic coming, before recently they have been very anti universal. They've just realized that universal is now a strong competitor and wants to reach the widest audience.
I don’t remember ever using a locker on Men and Black. I must have been using a Fanny pack. The Harry Potter Lands are really over the top in theming, so is Seussland. Last time I went to Disneyland the 5 biggest rides were down. I grew up there and it was a big deal to be on a ride that broke down. They just didn’t ever break down, now they don’t care, use inferior parts and don’t promote by how good a worker is, promote their friends who I guess take hours to fix a ride. I work with the public and have talked to people who worked with both companies and every one of them preferred working with Universal. I can’t wait till Epic Universe opens, I expect to be blown away with theming. I am going to stay in 2 of the hotels, one night at the big central one and 2 nights at one of the other two.
Park pass reservations. Park hopping restrictions. Disdain for Passholders (WDW) vs. Freebies & Love (Universal). And overpriced hotel rooms (especially for families over 4 people). Disney changed this Disney Fanatic into a UOAP!
No more reservations. Where are you going to hop at universal? Free Dining at Disney. $135-150 per night for value resorts isn’t overpriced. Disney is by far the most popular to most.
Having to take a smaller bag to Universal is not a positive, the needs are the same. Let’s be real & mention negatives too, like how in accessible Universals rides are
This is true, Universal coasters are not accessible to as many sizes and shapes of humans. Don't have your heart set on riding all the Harry Potter coasters if you are tall, broad, or inflexible. Also don't plan on riding Flight of Passage….
Id say Disney is a million times better! Went to Universal for first time last summer and once was enough for me. It seemed to have mostly wild rides that I hate and missing the magic..
Universal is great - but can’t. Compare to Disney for us due to emotional connection - we love Disney because it’s the happiest place and we are giddy when we’re there. The rides and food are just the icing. The core is pure emotion. We feel emotion at Harry Potter in Universal but it lands differently. Disney captures the hearts and minds of children and parents and becomes an addiction for many of us. There’s just nothing like feeling happy all day for days on end.
Honestly I get the appeal of Universal but when I went but the first time recently, I couldn't help but compare is to Disney and ultimately still side with Disney. Then again, I am not a fan of most of the themes presented in Universal.
I think this is my problem as well. I’m planning to go to Universal for Epic Universe, but I can’t say I’m super excited. My son is excited for Super Mario World and How to Train Your Dragon but that’s it. He doesn’t know Harry Potter, he doesn’t know Minions, he doesn’t know the Simpsons, he doesn’t know MiB, he doesn’t know Shrek. I know about those IP but just don’t care for them. He doesn’t know much at all of the Universal IP, but he knows almost ALL the Disney IP and he loves space so he LOVES Epcot. Hs also small so will be too short for SO MANY of the big Universal rides, but he can ride EVERTHING at WDW except TRON. Also Universal has no fireworks! This is a big draw for us as we watch the fireworks every night. What do people do at Universal? Watch a lighted fountain show with music? We have a botanical garden at home where we get that.
Trying to sell the Disney crowd on Universal is a waste of time and money. Disney is a magical experience where Universal is an upgraded Six Flags experience.
Instead of beating down disney in an attempt to make universal look better, I'd suggest just showing the positives and negatives of both places in a less biased way. I've been to universal for the first time recently. Some good, some bad.
Universal and Disney are apples and oranges. I think expresspass is far superior to genie+. Universal dark rides rely too much on screens and all have the same script. Universal has a lot of great rides and themes but I cannot help but know I’m in a theme park while I’m there. Disney sticking to sight lines and keeping lands separate helps me get immersed so much better. In universal you can be in jarassic park but see hogwarts. Illusion destroyed! Apples and oranges.
Disney and Universal aren’t talking to the same fans. There are things Universal has that Disney doesn’t and vice versa. I hate to say it, but I’m just not super into Universal IP. I do not care about Harry Potter, never watched the movies or read the books, and my son is 7 and too young to care. But Disney IP and even current Disney movies I enjoy the IP. The only reason we are planning to start going to universal is because of Epic Universe and Super Mario Land. But until my son is tall enough to ride the majority of Universal roller coasters, we will not make too much a priority to visit. Also, they have no fireworks, this alone does not make me want to visit. If I want an amusement park with roller coasters and no fireworks I can stay home and go to Hershey Park.
Maybe I went on an off day but the lines were so long I didn’t end up going on any of the rides. The Harry Potter part of the park is by far the best part (mostly because I don’t really care about the other franchises) but it was so busy I couldn’t even walk without crashing into someone or vice versa. Again, maybe that was an off day for the park? I’m not sure but I definitely prefer Disney for those reasons.
@@AllEarsNet Said that was the busiest part, not the only part with lines too crowded to get on a ride. That’s why you pay the astronomical $90 a day to get their equivalent of Disney’s $30 Genie+.
Did AllEars ever post a video that she mentioned her and Emma doing the escape room or was it an off camera experience? If it was I think it would be a great video, who cares if it spoils it watching several of the team to get out would be fun to watch.
Ever since Disney destroyed Star Wars with those ridiculous characters, I don’t step anywhere near the place. Universal has become more cutting edge and they actually make the lands like the stories love universal
Disney rides are more crowded because everybody wants the Disney experience. It’s not surprising that a comparatively unpopular park doesn’t have as crowded lines.
1. Universal is not for the soft. Whatever that means. ;-) 2. Universal has more value for the money. Unless a highly inflated priced magical experience is your fix. 3. Let's be real. The adults in Universal are more adults just like the ones you see in Sea World and Busch Garden.
No no no. Just went to universal to see for myself. That place SUCKS!!!!!!!!! Unless you like, super high prices higher than Disney and nickel and dime 5th level. Super Over crowded parks. Forget getting quick service lunch and a seat. Rides all screens and over hour lines. Shoulder to shoulder gridlock in most spots especially Harry Potter area. Walk 5 miles before getting to gates with horrendous lines. Rcrr ( roller coaster riff raff) everywhere and ghetto swearing looking for trouble. Even on busses in front of little kids. Omg gross. Never again. Wdw was so appreciated after this. Wish I had not waisted that $$$$. Oh ya, loud music everywhere around pools. No place to relax. Chaotic +.
My wife has MS and the folks at Universal have treated her like garbage. Treated her like she is less human than the rest of us. People at Disney have always been kind and compassionate towards her. We also have a 7 year old son who only wants to ride maybe 4-5 rides offered at Universal, while at Disney he is like a kid in a candy store. So I cannot disagree with this vlog any more. Plus, to us all Universal parks look similar. Disney has Animal Kingdom which is worlds different than the other parks. Universal has nothing that compares to World Showcase at Epcot. And who is Universal's iconic character equivalent to Mickey Mouse? I don't know of any. I subscribed to this channel because of the Disney content. I love the channel except for this ridiculous "Universal is better than Disney" propaganda that you guys keep pushing. Nobody I know agrees with this and don't even take the statement seriously. Because it is a joke! I read other comments here and most agree with me. Disney is number one for a reason. It is because they are better and will continue to be better!
We don't have to choose one or the other, no one''s forcing anyone to like one better than the other (and most people still worship Disney more than Universal anyway), AllEars is still 90% about Disney, so you truly have nothing to worry about. Plus, even if the content of the video isn't relevant for you, it may still be relevant to someone else :)
@anamafra3056 You are not wrong. I just wish both parks can just be considered equally great depending on taste instead of one being promoted as better than the other.
We are huge Disney fans and your video has just reinforced that it's SO much better. Universal takes the cheap way and is dirty. That's my biggest complaint... DIRTY. I truly believe Disney is the very best, in another league and far superior to all other theme parks. It's not really fair to compare. It's all about investment. Universal can keep trying, but they will never be even close.
They have different audiences IMO. I compare Universal to other coaster heavy parks. Mostly Locals will visit them, and people visit for the rides and NOT the atmosphere. Whereas WDW is meant to be a fully immersive experience with family rides and attractions. I think Universal is trying to do this more, especially with Epic Universe, but we will see how successful it is. I agree they have to manage their parks with the intent of suspending reality, but you need your employees to be all in for this to work. Also, until Universal makes the financial investment into daily fireworks, I will consider them inferior. Fountain shows and drone shows do not count. Disney is giving their shopping district a drone show and it’s FREE to go there.
I’ve always found the Disney/Universal comparison to be like comparing apples and oranges: they offer different things for different people. It’s never a question of one over the other for my family; we like to visit them both on their own merits.

WHY?
About the Voodoo Donuts locations, Arizona just got one here. 😎
they seem to be expanding right now! I've heard about about a few other new locations coming soon
They have day long lockers available, the ones by the rides are meant to be picked up right after you ride.
I love the disney parks but they are getting outdated... fast. Universal is on full speed!
With all of the new things coming to Universal this summer and with Epic Universe opening next year, if they play their cards right, these parks will definitely give Disney some good competition. And besides..Bananas are good!!..Gopa Caree Quincy!!
Where is this Perfect Day video with Quincy and DFB that they keep teasing? I can't find it!

Great video, Quincy!
Where's Quincys Shrek Nuimo from?
Someone made that for her! 💚
Better if you're a teenager or young adult. Not better if you are a small child or older adult and have ride limitations and don't get me started when it comes to trying to find somewhere to sit in the shade at Universal during the hot summer months.
Starting to look like Allears and Disney Food Blog are due for a name change.
I would love to know how much Universal paid for them to absolutely trash Disney. $15k? 20k?
Why, because they've expanded their coverage? I love it! It was starting to seem pretty silly to only ever show one part of Orlando!
I love the merchandise.
Especially Harry potter and the new Super Nintendo World.
great video!!!!
KITTY SOFTPAWS?!?! I had no idea! I'm on my way. Save me a pretzel.
Where do yall get the background music from?
A few different places, but sometimes our editors make it! If it sounds reminiscent of a song you know, our editor probably made it
@@AllEarsNet thanks have been trying to find good background music ideas for our videos

Shrek Land in Universal. Who would've guessed that?
Having to take a smaller bag to Universal is not a positive, the needs are the same. Let’s be real & mention negatives too, like how in accessible Universals rides are
Negatives?? If you listen to this video you can only come to the conclusion that the world has been wrong about Disney for decades. 😂😂😂
This is true, Universal coasters are not accessible to as many sizes and shapes of humans. Don't have your heart set on riding all the Harry Potter coasters if you are tall, broad, or inflexible. Also don't plan on riding Flight of Passage….
@@CritterKeeper01Or due to incredibly long ride lines and outrageous pricing on express passes except for those staying at the top hotels.
I am starting to question my reasoning for why I prefer Disney over Universal.
Can’t wait for your “How Disney is 1000 Times Better than Universal” video.
Maybe not 1000, but certainly over 15.

Id say Disney is a million times better! Went to Universal for first time last summer and once was enough for me. It seemed to have mostly wild rides that I hate and missing the magic..

Guardians of the Galaxy is the best ride 😉
Quincy sowing off the pythons in this video.
Universal was a different park when they focused on movie making and immersing you into the scene of a movie
@@sha2596How does your kid not know Harry Potter, Minions, or Shrek? That’s on you for not showing them anything
@@himynameiscoreyThose are 2nd rate characters to most people. You ok?
I love the Popeye ride
But is ExpressPass $30?
It should be. It is $90 compared to $30 for Genie.
Starting next year. I’d rather go to universal first just to see epic universe.
It really is a low-rent experience compared to Disney.
Double Like!!!
They have fireworks! They did when I went pre-Covid anyway.
Comparing Disney World to Universal is like comparing Coke to Pepsi
Maybe I went on an off day but the lines were so long I didn’t end up going on any of the rides. The Harry Potter part of the park is by far the best part (mostly because I don’t really care about the other franchises) but it was so busy I couldn’t even walk without crashing into someone or vice versa. Again, maybe that was an off day for the park? I’m not sure but I definitely prefer Disney for those reasons.
The Harry Potter areas definitely get the most crowded so even on a slow day those parts of the park will seem busier
You can’t film inside, so we couldn’t make a whole video about it
I’m just here for the fights in the comments section.
Ever since Disney destroyed Star Wars with those ridiculous characters, I don’t step anywhere near the place. Universal has become more cutting edge and they actually make the lands like the stories love universal
Blasphemy 😮
Disney rides are more crowded because everybody wants the Disney experience. It’s not surprising that a comparatively unpopular park doesn’t have as crowded lines.
1. Universal is not for the soft. Whatever that means. ;-)
2. Universal has more value for the money. Unless a highly inflated priced magical experience is your fix.
3. Let's be real. The adults in Universal are more adults just like the ones you see in Sea World and Busch Garden.
1. Read Six Flags
2. Their skip-the-line is $90 vs $30. That doesn’t seem like value.
3. Read lower middle income to low income.
Chaotic +.

I’m calling Cap on the quick service - other than Breadbox, I think it’s pretty garbage
Disney World Es Mejor Qué Universal Pictures.
Let’s be honest. Universal is the Carnival Cruise Line of Orlando theme parks.
No place is going to treat you like Disney. I’m glad they treat your wife how she should be treated!
Absolutely!

Universal compares much better to Six Flags.
