After all the arrogance i have witnessed and experienced from certain Catholic bishops this man's humility and loyalty to Christ, the true vicar, is refreshing and liberating
Bishop Strickland is a True Shepherd. A True Shepherd speaks the Truth and is not afraid to show the flock about falsehoods that is prevalent in our modern society. It is painful that he is being removed as a Shepherd. To love is not just to be kind and embrace what is clearly wrongdoing especially secularism but to turn away from our sinful ways though how painful the message maybe. That is true love. The message of progressing for the sake of progressing is wrong. As Bishop Strickland says look to Christ and his message and not to bracket his teachings. Amen.
I wanted to hear Bishop Strickland because of Father Altman, who I thought and still think is a holy man. Bishop Strickland has humility, intelligence and courage. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing him.

With respect and all the gentleness I can muster, Tim, let me suggest to you what Sonia below is trying to convey with her quote: that Jesus established--personally, while alive upon the earth--one living Church, founded upon one living man, Peter, and that he explicitly promised us that the gates of hell would never prevail against it no matter how dire things might look to our eyes at any given time. That is Christ's promise, not ours.
The purpose of that Church is twofold: to provide the Sacraments--vessels of God's grace--to all true believers to aid them in their spiritual journey, and to provide the infallible truth about Jesus to the world so that they will not be turned aside by false teachers, such as themselves.
The Church didn't come from the Bible, the Church came from the living Christ, and has been passed down to us through an unbroken succession of living apostles--all imperfect men, like Peter himself. The books of the Bible came from the Church, which looked at all the writings circulating throughout the world purporting to be accurate depictions of history and true theological teachings regarding Jesus. From that long list they derived the canon of Holy Scripture--of completely true texts--as it stands today.
There was never a claim that Scripture contained all truth, or even every truth about Jesus--only that what was there was true. It was and still is, always the function of the living Church, and not the Bible (although the Church uses the Bible as an infallible source of guidance, the way a captain uses a map), to define, maintain, and zealously guard the truth. (Note that Jesus left us no writings, which he surely would have if that was the mode of transmission he had intended.)
The upshot of all of this is that the true, complete Jesus Christ is only to be found in one place: his beloved bride, the (Catholic) Church. To believe anything contrary to authentic Church teaching is to believe, often unwittingly but nonetheless as a matter of fact, in a false, truncated, incomplete Jesus...a false god, who has no power to save. I tell you this not to mock or criticize, because I believe you're an honest man who wants to know Jesus in his fullness, whereas history has gotten in the way of that; I tell you this to encourage you and strengthen you, in the hope that you will rejoin Christ's Church--the Catholic Church--the Church that (I'm guessing here) your ancestors abandoned, and reunite yourself with the living Son of God, who is to be found, not in your imagination, nor even in Scripture (PLEASE see John 5:39-40), but only in the Holy Eucharist of the Mass. This is what Jesus himself commanded when he said that unless you eat his flesh you have no life in you. You will either believe him and listen to him or you won't.
I consider you, sincerely, my brother in spirit, and look forward to the day when I can call you, and all others like you, my brother in fact. May that be God's will.

I am a Catholic convert from an evangelical background. I am so happy to hear this bishop speak truth and life to his flock. Satan doesn't want the truth raised up in the church . I'm very concerned that today the Pope has decided to terminate Bishop Strickland's position as a Bishop within the Church. Bishop Strickland, Jesus sees your heart and blesses your speaking His truth to His children. Don't be discouraged and don't give up speaking Christ's truth.....it is desperately needed in a world lost in sin. I ask God to bless you and your ministry abundantly. You are a blessing to more souls than you know. Your humility and frankness in addressing the questions shows your courage and willingness to be honest and open with all concerned.

Bishop Strickland is a true pastor. Humble and respectable. I will pray for him. Padre Pio was also persecuted during his ministry, and finished being a saint!!! Bishop Strickland is a saint.
Bishop Strickland came and gave a talk for a fundraiser for a tiny Catholic school that employs me. It meant so much to have such a fervent and unapologetic bishop give up his time to visit us. He truly is one we need more of today.

Tough question. Almost impossible to answer for a 'hard core Protestant'...cos there are 44,999 OTHER Protie faith traditions to wade through before finally discovering the fullness of truth in the Catholic Church. I hope tdoubroff is young, at least with time to wade through the insanity.

I’m a Protestant and looking in to the Catholic Church. I want to find the place I grow closer to Jesus! I have a disabled child and my serving the Lord looks very different and it’s hard to find a physical church this way. A man like this gives me hope! A pure heart for Jesus! This bishop speaks like a saint. No convoluted, ambiguous talk. Just the Sacraments, the centrality of Christ and the infinite love of God. “You need the Eucharist and Confession to be healed”, “Always keep Christ at the centre”. “Pray for the repentance of those who need Christ (including your enemies)”. And above all, “God loves you more than you could ever imagine” (I’m paraphrasing).
Very simple, yet very deep. And so beautiful. Such is our faith.
What a gift to his diocese and to the Church. A true apostle of Christ.

Thank you Lord for Bishop Strickland, today we need more bishops like him. And Please protect him from the authorities of your Church who may be trying to do harm to him. We pray that they do not hurt him. He needs your protection. Please send your Holy mother to take care of him and make sure he is not harmed. Amen.

This is my first time hearing Bishop Strickland. If this was radio and I didn't know it was Catholic, I would think he was an evangelist from the Paul Washer camp of Protestantism (where I currently reside in my faith). His so called "simple" messages are for everyone, regardless of walk, in a world complicated by evil. They are simply exhorting, convicting, clear and practical. How he packs all that into memorable phrases I can understand and embrace is genius. You Catholics keep blowing my mind, I'm going to have to get a new one:-)

Three years ago my daughter and her family moved to the Tyler Texas area, because of Bishop Strickland. I go down to Texas every since in winter time from Canada. Now that I’m in my mid-60s I find reading scripture difficult as it’ tiring physically so I would like to recommend listening to the entire Bible available on TH-cam as read by David Suchet, himself a convert, who played chief inspector POIROT in the Agatha Christie series.
This is absolutely wonderful his voice and cadence etc. and it’s free just type in his name and bible here in you tube.
I listen to it at night fall asleep with it and wake up with it no nightmares masks the tinnitus and I sleep like a baby.
Also Scott Hahn is a Protestsnt Convert and very very good at explaining simply the teachings of the Faith and Scripture and traditionally based amd a theologianat a very traditional Catholic University - Franciscan University in Steubenville , OH.
Did you know Fr Mike at Accession has read the Bible One Day at a time? They have an accompanying time line, Bible and everything! It’s the best! Then everyday he interprets it. I love it. Now, he’s reading the Catechism the same way. AND ITS FREE. The reading is free, not the additions.

Father Mike at Accession reads the Bible One day at a time online, and now reads the Catechism the same way. And then interprets it for us. It is soothing and educational. @@lauriekovijanic8555 A bishop is a bishop and Fr. Altman needs to be obedience. Fr. Coughlin who was very outspoken during the 1930s listened to his bishop and step down from his political activities.
