If Desmond died on Arrakis as we saw, then our Desmond must be a Tleilaxu ghola/clone. This would also explain his twitchy, broken, unnatural vibes. Excited for the rest of the series, hopefully there's no more nightclub scenes 😂
I’m a Non book reader here but the cloning you’re describing, is that what happens with Duncan Idaho in one of the books? Also yeah, the dune club scene was interesting lol
@@MovieFiles oh I don't want to spoil it too much for you in that case, but yes Duncan Idaho gets cloned many times in the future. I have a feeling Desmond is an early product of this cloning technology. Quinn's Ideas has great summaries of the books that are super helpful for non-book readers who want more Dune lore!
I want to see a face dancer and Omnius and Erasmus. They already showed my favorite scene in the school books when Valya uses the voice to kill Dorotea. I would hope to see my favorite scene in the Butlarian jihad trilogy. Though any scene with Erasmus is my favorite, I loved the sequence of how Erasmus dealt with Serena Butler, and her distraction lol
For them to do in the light the same goals and mission that they are doing in the dark? If so, its telling on them self louder then the other way round
I read Dune a long time ago and loved it! Pretty sure I read the 2nd book too. And... maybe the third? I appreciated the Lynch film for what it was. I enjoyed Villenueve's Dune Part 1. Kinda skipped around Part 2 to just the bits I was curious about. This show hasn't grabbed me just yet, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Honestly the adaptations just makes me think I should just go back and read the books instead because the first one was so good! Since you haven't read the books, I'm glad your breakdowns won't contain spoilers from later books. But since you've seen the movies, you might as well read the first book.
Hey Zia! Really appreciate you watching and supporting the video. Future watch parties and stream around this series really depends on the audience’s engagement with this video.
it made sense to me that Hart burned both Kesha and the kid directly. he was screaming VERY loudly and all I kept thinking of was who was going to hear him. I think the scene cuts to the Head Mothers hearing screaming and the screams are revealed to be Kesha’s probably running to them after witnessing the Prince’s murder and warn them, but it sounded like she was incapable of talking because maybe she was being burned alive from the inside???? I wasn’t expecting him to have superpowers let alone telekinetic powers to burn people alive (if that’s even what we witnessed). I wasn’t the biggest fan of the production. it feels very much like a tv show, which feels silly and spoiled to say, but idk. Disney’s Andor managed to bridge the gap between film and prestige tv with finesse, so I think we could always aspire for more with how these series are executed. the heavy exposition and narration wasn’t very attractive to me either. I wish it took its time to ease us into the world organically (something like HotD would’ve been nice), but I understand there’s a lot of set up necessary and this series will likely be less than 10 eps.
I know I'm jumping ahead, but I'm very excited for you to expierence Dune Messiah w/o having read the books. People tend to have VERY strong feelings on it, so I will be looking forward to your thoughts :]
It's interesting that the (excellent) recap is about as long as the episode itself! I want to like this, but I found the first episode to be overly confusing, and I didn't develop any emotional connection with any of the characters to any great extent. If they were all eaten by sand worms, would I care. Probably not...
Omnius is not in Frank's canon, and until I see otherwise I'm going to ignore any of Brian's Canon. There are already good indications that the show is going to be closer to Frank's vision than Brian's.
Sorry, I can't watch a Dune breakdown in an analysis by someone who hasn't read the novels. If all you've seen is the films, then you just have a surface level understanding.
I respect that and appreciate you at least being respectful in your comments. I just figured a section of the audience watching would be in the camp that hasn’t read the books and wanted to hear from someone in their position as far as that outsiders perspective with no book acknowledge. Appreciate you at least watching and giving me a chance to hear my thoughts.
@@MovieFilesyou’re right that’s exactly what I’m here for so keep up the good work! I’m a huge GoT book fan and I also happen to be someone who can have a movie spoiled and still enjoy it as much so maybe I’m the minority here but either way I enjoy your recaps and reviews no matter how knowledgeable you are or aren’t. It’s the positive way you speak I guess I don’t know but keep it up!❤
Any good film/show based on preexisting content stands on its own without the need for having prior knowledge. The LotR films brought millions to the theatres who have never read a page of Tolkien. A good creator can tell their story without the assumption that the audience knows all the minutiae before watching.
I know you dont want to be spoiled for the movies. I get it. At minimum, please look up the golden path. No way in hell do the movies ever get to that. The only maybe spoiler will be the very very end of movies they may flash forward to show the golden path. Normally, i would just let it be but your interpretation of the prophecy by Mother Superior was painful to listen to. That wouldnt matter but fans are probably going to be the majority of your clicks. This series is the start of the path. When franks son wrote the books around the time period, the show is in everyone reading knew the gold path already, and it didn't spoil anything. That's the fun with prophecy. You know something is coming what do you do about it. Literally the majority of thr books everyone knows what can happen in the future. Know what steps do you take to stop it. Let me put it another way. I jumped at the lizard. If you dont know the gold path that is not as scary or cool. You going to get a lot of that in thr show. Unfortunately or fortunately the easter eggs are just important. I also promise you will never the get the answer either. Its one of those things that dont film and the seris includeding the movies will not go on for 20 years they would need.
Uh duh uh i nevh reed a book, biggest fan evah but i no reede de booke, Jus luv me some Denni! Denni know morebout ta sand then ole frankie, nevh read a book but im a dunee supra fan!
Mr. MovieFiles you could do the audiobook of Dune (free on TH-cam last time I checked) and it wouldn’t spoil Dune Messiah. It would really open up the deeper themes for the Dune universe. Your breakdown was still very good for someone who hasn’t read the books. Keep up the good work…

Yeah most definitely a Ghola that piqued my interest.

Maybe a face dancer with IXian technology ?
@@uncomfortablecrocs Quinn is AWESOME!!!
This series is going to be far deeper than most will realize at first. Bene Tleilax. Ixians. Farafel vision of Omnius. Chilling.
YES THE IXIANS

This could be the start of why the sisters don’t like males to have the Voice /powers 🤔
I liking what you’re are cooking my friend 👏🏾👏🏾
For them to do in the light the same goals and mission that they are doing in the dark?

Thanks for this. I like seeing what someone else takes out of the episode.
Appreciate you watching my breakdown and hope to see you again next week 👍🏾
Thank you for the recap!
Your summary was straight to the point …versus another channel that I tried that was too goofy and overdramatic. 💯😊👍🏾
Appreciate you watching and I’m excited to cover this for the next few weeks.

A series first episode without at least three deaths is considered a dull affair.
Dawg the reckoning is them seeing Leto II they describe the male memories as a black cloud and it’s the fall of the BG they see not mankind

Read the books.
I plan to once the films are over because I don’t want to be spoiled for what’s to come.
This series would be Brian’s…so don’t. His books were bad.
