22:00 Personally I have not seen a Tsavorite over 2 carats. It is one of my favourite stones. Good on you!!!! I always ask for discount when i pay cash..

I have to say, thats a crazy good deal already. Especially that size stone and if it is VS or clearer its definitely a steal. I mean you are still buying from a middle man BUT you'd never find one that size, color for that price anywhere in the West!

From my experience, when buy gemstones there at JTC, the price negotiation should start at about 45% of the first offered price. The dealers there will quote the extremely high price at the beginning and slowly reduce to about 50% of the first offered price.

He said there are two types of sellers there, one who price high to negotiate and ones who price reasonable and have a firm price. Not everyone is into haggling and you have to respect the business owner however they chose to sell their products. The dealers KNOW how much their items are worth on the open market, so thinking you can nickel and dime them when the price is more than fair can be insulting and ruin business relationships.

Always negoiate, its part of the game, most times get at least 60% what they ask.

@@danndeelion You like he believe what the dealers tell you. Its all a game. Yes they know the real price and its a lot lower than what they get from people like him who think they know better.

Wise is best for instant wire from EUR to THB for JTC guys.
Revolut sucks, and can block your money for "review" while you're making big purchases in bkk.

You should open a Thai bank account, and use Wise instead of Revolut.

Youre a babe in the woods who cant be told. You believed everything he said. You had already seen the stone you should have known its price before you went back with USD in cash. Show it to other dealers, see how much you lost.

In Europe it's the same only 50 Euro bills withdrawals form the ATM to counter criminal activities like money laundering.
