Railway Museum in Omiya, Saitama City, Part 2, Shinkansen Series 0.

I did four videos of the Railway Museum. This video is solely dedicated to Series 0, the first Shinkansen which started running from Tokyo to Osaka and Osaka to Tokyo simultaneously on October 1, 1964.
1964 is the greatest year in modern Japanese history where after just 19 short years the Shinkansen, the world’s first high speed rail came out in Japan along with the Tokyo games. This was quite a thing to pull off and has never been done anywhere on earth in such a short time.
Per the museum,
“The Railway Museum opened in October 2007 in Omiya, Saitama City as the centerpiece of the JR East 20th Anniversary Memorial Project. The museum opened the new south building in July 2018, and the main building was fully renovated as well. The museum now consists of 5 different stations, the Rolling Stock Station, Science Station, Job Station, Future Station, and the History Station. With the renovation, the museum was reborn as a hands-on museum telling the story of the relationship between people and railways using various themes.”
