I've been super depressed and tons of people keep telling me to smile or criticizing my lack of smile, but our group photo actually made me smile. Thank you. Can't wait to see our group silly face "photo!" Maybe you could do a sketch version when it develops!

that tree was super cool, your description of it was so vivid I could imagine exactly what it looked like before you showed it. also love this style of narration - drawing + unrelated dialogue is god tier

I think the tree is a type of cherry tree. When ours gets damaged, it makes the same goo. Also, the bark looks right for a cherry tree. Love your drawing! It makes me think of a martian factory Christmas party.

I want a Leica sketchbook! Im a surveyor so I use Leica equipment for surveying but I had no idea they had sketchbooks. That would be so cool for my work!

The tree you describe sounds like maybe a a variety of birch... ah, now that I see the photo it Does look like a birch tree. and the damage sounds and looks like deer munching. Of course, it could be humans who don't know how to properly harvest a little bit of bark without damaging the tree severely. Birch bark is often used in crafting. I love to look and touch moss in the wild. It's often so soft. I really enjoyed your walk through the woods, especially the pictures to go with, even if the tree damage was sad.

It's a dogwood tree. Birch does not produce those gello clumps, it just runs clear tree sap just like maple.

Thank you for taking us on a walk. The first tree you were talking about,, the one with the jello, before you showed it to us, I thought maybe it was a rainbow eucalyptus tree. I've only seen pictures of them, and the are beautiful. Their bark peels away and there is all this color.
I like the mud colored water with the roots. It looks like a muted shade of green.
Listen and watching you draw was very pleasant.
Anyway, thank you again for taking us on a walk.

Hi Peter ! It is a some ting new to me .
I am a Leica photographer. and I use manly those Range finder cameras. what I see those stuffs are amazing. Those note books seems amazing. I am going to see how and where they are available. Do a research on Leical M cameras so you can find some thing interesting. They have just introduced a new series of wrist- washers too.
Rhodia is my favorite brand! Fineliners are so smooth on their French made vellum paper!
One request - do you think you can do tattoos? Your ink sketches are awesome!!

Somehow, it took until this past year for me to learn that Leica is primarily a camera company. I work as a land surveying technician in the Kodak homeland (Rochester NY), so I first learned about Leica from college when we discussed tools of the trade. “Leica” only conjures in my mind the sight of a robotic total station buzzing and whirring and beeping as it follows a rodman. They’re fun to draw…
Our park lands need trees in various states of life and death. I've noticed recently rangers damaging trees and leaving the dead wood. This variety of tree life, and death, is needed for the ecosystem - birds need bugs, bugs need dead wood. So dont get sad by damaged trees, it's the circle of life.
I would not mind a video of Peter exploring the wilderness
