- Supriya Devi Chaudhary, Bengali actress speaks about her Bengali film 'Meghe Dhaka Tara', a musical drama film released in 1960. She says, "Thre was a scene in the film where I was instructed by the director to cry but not in front of my father so when the character of my father completed his dialogues I turned against him and went outside the room and I cried there. The director of the film Ritwik Ghatak used to give me chocolates after every scene to motivate me. There was a hospital scene in the film and I am supposed to look like a TB patient but I was so thin at that time so I started to eat boiled eggs and potatoes then I became so fat and it was not the look that my crew wanted so I again lost some weight to fit in the character of a TB patient."
A selfless young woman (Supriya Choudhury) sacrifices her own happiness for her unappreciative family.
The film was directed by Ritwik Ghatak and written by Samiran Dutta (assistant scenario writer), Ritwik Ghatak (scenario)

কতো সুন্দর না মুখের হাসিটা? সুপ্রিয়া দেবী অসামান্য মানুষ ছিলেন। ওনার কথাগুলো শুনলেই মনে হয় যে উনি মানুষকে খুব ভালোবাসতেন। 'মেঘে ঢাকা তারা ' সিনেমাতে "দাদা আমি বাঁচতে চাই" এই Dialogue টা শুনে খুব কষ্ট হয়েছিল, ভীষণ প্রিয় আমার বেণু দি। আর 'সিস্টার' Movie তে ওনার অভিনয় ভোলার মতো নয়। খুব আপসোস হয় একবার যদি ওনাকে সামনাসামনি দেখতে পারতাম। এই Interview তে ওনার কথা গুলো এবং হাসি দুটোই আমার কাছে অসম্ভব প্রিয়।

কত সহজ ,সরল,,কি মিষ্টি..কত পার্থক্য এখনের সাথে..এখন তো বেশিরভাগ award,আর মানুষের মাতামাতি bollywood কে নিয়ে আমি বলছি সেসব খারাপ,তবে অযোগ্যরাও award পেয়ে যাচ্ছে দেখে অস্বস্তি হয় যেখানে আমাদের অনেক বিখ্যাত অভিনেতা কেনো award ছাড়াই চলে গেলেন.
