Just bought myns today and it’s grey In great condition 160kmils very strong motor and it has the nice transmission with the extra stuff and 4x4 I got lucky and they had rubicon wheels so yea I’m super happy for jeep
Had and rolled an 03 limited with the 4.0L and quadra drive w/ out the tow package. Such a sad day, was the best snow and off road jeep I ever owned. Whoever bought it from Jeep had it made and I hope to find another, but a v8 overland would suffice haha.

Yes , I have the 4.0 and been down this 3 times. . Here's a quick rundown of my rig. 4.5in lift that settled to exactly 4 inches. I'm on 33 inch tires , D30 axle ( sleeved -trussed - 4.56- Powertrax grip pro LSD - Nitro brand replacement axle shafts,- hd ball joints) iron rock link long arms f+r , tank tuck. Lots of metal cutting in the front wheel wells for flex , Bilstein shocks . 12o'clock labs universal speedo recalibration unit. It's all about matching your gears to your tire size . Take the tire size you want divided by the tire that Originally came on it x the original axle gear ratio . I chose 4.56 for 33's because i take a lot of stuff with me.

from my observations,i will not buy a 4x4,less than an 83 bronco,75 swb f100 size.chev dodge whatever, as most swb jeeps roll easy. my bronco has a locker d44 front,d60 rear,all 8 stud. i have a single cab s/duty tray back.it surprises me where & what it does..but,its a 6 cyl diesel.MWM,factory from brazil. good luck,.
If you still haven't lifted it and want too I second that Iron Rock long arm lift. I had it on my 02 WJ and loved it. I'm not condoning jumping it but I was only 18 at the time and had it off the ground once or twice and it held up. Very well made life kit.

I'm on the fence about buying the Cherokee Overland($4800) 2003 219k with the 4.7 HO or an Xterra($3200) 2007 210k 4x4 with 4.0. Both are solid vehicles.
We have driven it thousands of miles on road. It is not a ton of fun to drive but it rides really well. No tank tuck. I have 1-ton steering going on over the Christmas break. I am expecting it to handle a bit better. I have both sway bars connected when driving on the road.
Where might one get parts like this? I have a 99 Laredo I want to improve with Off-Road accessories but I can't find the right websites. Do I need to just take it to a special garage or can I buy the parts myself?
Definitely check out Iron Rock Off-road. Excellent equipment, they drive their Jeeps and test their own stuff, they know pretty well what they are doing.

Hi! Parts list is pretty simple… If Iron Rock Off Road makes it for the WJ, it’s on this WJ 😆 Tires and rims I found on Craigslist. They were off a JK. 35’s on 17 inch rims. I put an Aussie locker in the rear. Axels and gearing are stock otherwise. I added some limit straps to the front to keep the springs from coming out. Roof rack is from Goliath off road. That’s pretty much it!

Magnaflow. I cut the pipe before the factory muffler and installed the little aftermarket deal with the pipe turned down before the rear axle.

I can't say it's the best or the smoothest, but like I said for me it held up through a lot of abuse.

Rear only. The front is still the limited slip from the factory.

Rugged a ridge wheels. I am not sure what you can fit with a 3” lift but cutting would be required for decent articulation if you try to stuff 35’s.
