  • Learn how to create Number Flip PowerPoint Animation Effect in PowerPoint 2013 & 2016 versions.
The animation effect makes it look like flipping a calendar.
You can use this number flip text effect as a countdown to make a quiz or other games in your classroom exciting.
The font we have used is Arial Black. After typing in the numbers we want to flip over, we fragment the text so they are cut in half horizontally.
Then we add 2 different colored rectangles behind each of the numbers. We add exit and entrance animation effects to groups of the numbers & rectangles to create the final effect.
Follow the advanced PowerPoint Tutorial Video by Ramgopal to create the exact effect.

You can use this effect to countdown - for timing a tea break, for a quiz in the classroom, to create excitement for counting down to a date or event etc.
The tutorial uses a creative way to break up the numbers so appropriate animation can be applied.
There are multiple exit animations and entrance animations used in combination to create this advanced PowerPoint Animation Technique.

I used the principles here to make a countdown. Just a thought, I found it easier to animate each number separately, rather than follow your method of selecting a number at a time and then applying the animation to them all at the same time, and then rearranging the order in the animation pane. First time I've seen Fragment used - thanks for taking the time to do this.

Thank you for creating such a nice tutorial. I created 10 different letters with the flip animation same as the numbers. When I click each letter flips one after the other. Here is the question: How can I flip all 5 letters at the same time with one click to say H E L L O ?

    Hello,
What an animation!! So easy to do.. Thank you very much for sharing it with us.
I have a request to make. I tried to do this animation for a picture and a text box but it was not possible. Is there an animation where on clicking the picture the text behind it appears?

Hi sir, your tutorial is relatively easy to follow, though admittedly I am lost at the animation portion of your tutorial.
I would like to ask though, is it possible to animate individual alphabets to flip like in a Flight Information Board (flip the alphabets from A-Z; numbers from 0-9), and how would I go about doing it in Microsoft PowerPoint? Thank you very much.

Sir, Your tutorials definitely are cakewalk for beginners too. I have a small doubt, Sir.
All the transition effects in power point 2013 take place only in black colour. Can
the color be changed., For instance, Curtain effect open the curtain, but in black color.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi thanks! Its good to know beginners can follow too! Regarding the Transitions, there is a Transition Effect option that appears once you apply a transition like Fade. Both Through Black and Smoothly are available as options.
