I've had no idea how lucky I've been while playing ToT. I've found 2 shinnies during my playthrough. I found a notent first route like 7th encounter and a shiny kitweed, which I had no idea was a pseudo legendary. Not to mention I accidentally found a fordake.
Is it considered lucky to find three shinies back to back in the span of 30 minutes without chaining? First guy was a Usbee , next was a hawkdeet and lastly was another hawkdeet.
Bro, that is not how math works, when you find 5 tanorians at the same time you have 5 chances of getting a shiny and each of them have a 1/2000 chance of being shiny, its not a 0,05.5 problem.
Am I the only one that can’t see some tanorians in the overworld? Like some spawn and others don’t so I just end up running straight into invisible notents?
I didn't fully understand you when you talked about chaining. I have to kill 50 tanorian of the same species and, then, am I just maximised the chances? Can I run from all the enconunters and wait for a shiny?
once you hit a 50 chain, if you were to catch another tanorian your chain would not break. If you faint in battle your chain still breaks. The max odds you can get are 1/256 at a 1000 chain. If you encounter a shiny of any kind it will break your chain no matter what (even if you dont catch it)
Honestly the chain mechanic is somewhat very similar to Doodle World, to put it simply; On 50+ Chains, Your chain will no longer break when you accidentally killed another Tanorian (Your chain will still break when you caught a Tanorian) Ideally, 500+ Chains is where shinies will appear more often, if you're lucky enough.

I've had some luck but with Nexomon Extinction a few days ago. 3 cosmics in only 4 hours total, and the odds are about 1/2750 to me.

My chain broke after catching a different tanorian after 50…
i think mine glitched then i had a 160 chain and caught a pokemon that wasnt in the chain and lost it all

From what I understand, after 50 u can catch stuff without breaking the chain. The chances keep going up
