@Shaun When life gives you a hold my beer joke where you can substitute it for a cat, facts become less relevant ;)
But i'm sure you're right and I might even look up some of those bands as i am not familiair with them and you made me curious.

    • @glebivanov6323
      @glebivanov6323 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@Shaun well to be honest almost anything in the music is not new. Extremely rare you could face something realy new and even rarely you could admit that this new thing is good. Probably more than 80% of pop music just uses (in a very simplified way) musical discovers of J.S.Bach, Hendel, Vivaldi, Shopin, Debussy, Rakhmaninov etc, plus an influences of the "world music" and it's jazz extensions.
But at the same time each talented artist (band) has some unique, personal vibe. That is the new flavour of the musical dish, never used before. And you taste this dish with a delight, just like a some dish at the restourant made by some famous chef. The chef is not making something absolutely new, he can make some wellknown dish. But you can be the fan of his coocking art and say that noone can make this wellknown dish better. At your taste of course.
That is what we have here. Raggae+Metal is not a very wellknown musical dish but it's not a discover. But Jinjer and Tatiana are very good muscial chefs. They have personal vibe and that's what let us to rediscover this musical dish.

For another video which will energize you, react to "Who is going to be the One" (Live, Napalm Records). It is one of their best performances and demonstrates the band's musical skills and Tatiana's strength as a front woman. It also as has a reggae vibe.

Great reaction Biss. This one take performance by Tati was done during quarantine lockdown when she was stuck in Los Angeles, and was done at her husband's place. It was also done to commemorate the one year anniversary of the release of Judgement (,& Punishment). Yes the song has a "reggae" vibe and feel to it. Lastly, you said that Tati could sing anything, and she definitely can, but here is a fun fact. She did an interview where she was asked if she wasn't a "metal" vocalist, what type of vocalist would she be, she said she would definitely be a jazz vocalist. As far as a future Jinjer reaction, I'm going to suggest my personal favorite Jinjer song, and that song is Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev/Kyiv, that performance is amazing, and Tati's low growls in that performance will absolutely blow you away. Keep up the great reactions Biss, and as always, stay Metal young lady. 😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

Laughter exists because of the difference between what is expected and what actually happens. That's why jokes are funny (and sometimes even a scare will cause a person to burst out in to laughter). So when Tati growls, it's so unexpected that people who have no idea what she's capable of often burst in to laughter.

This group is from my country, from Ukraine. The first experience of getting acquainted with their work was in our town,
there was a music festival and they were supposed to perform in front of some famous group, but for technical reasons,
Jinger’s performance took place on a small secondary stage, with a small audience , at first, as usual, she sang with regular vocals,
and then she screamed... my hair started to move, my stereotype broke - how can such a progressive group appear in a town where only miners live?,
and how can such an elegant, small, thin girl producing vocals like that? In real life, she is up to 160cm tall.

Those periodic smiles she was making, except for the last one, were in response to the various humorous things her cat was doing offscreen. Go back to shortly before she makes that long continuous scream. When she smirks, notice where and how she is looking. That look is recognizable to many, especially cat owners.

  • @Samson_Wild

There is one similar group. (They even performed with this one on the same stage) Only there the emphasis is on screaming. INFECTED RAIN - Black Gold. Vocalist Lena (Elena), as well as Tanya (Tatiana) mixes extreme with soulful clean vocals.

She's just living up to the expectations of her coworkers with talent like this. I've been liking the latest videos that are putting Tatiana's obvious...selling points? on the back burner in favor of showing off the raw talent of all of them. Now I can give You a little insight. ;) This song proves Tatiana is talented in many genres. That includes reggae which is presented in this song. And yes- there are screams and growls that can sound very different. It depends on the type voice that is used. For example: When You're using a head voice the scream can be very high, but when You're using a chest voice a low growl can come out. That's how I understand it.
As for recommendations for Jinjer. There are 3 songs that are a must when it comes to this band:
    1) Teacher, Teacher.
    2) Vortex
    3) I Speak Astronomy
I suggest You check those songs in that order. ;) Great reaction! :)

There is a lot of ways to to growls and screams outward singing and inward to get even more range. Check out Blind and Frozen by Beast in Black, it's kinda the opposite where a guy can do clean singing that's usually in a female range.

You want a very deep growl in a live video of Jinjer? See the video to "Who is gonna be the one". An older one, but so good, one of my Jinjer all time favorites. Another even deeper growl of Tati can be heard in the exceptionally good original video of "Home Back", which IMHO is a must to see.
The video to "Vortex" shows, how their music can evolve into even other crazy spheres.
In general, pick ANY Jinjer video (official videos, not the mobile phone stuff, of course), and you will not be disappointed. All songs are unique and get you somewhere you have not been before.

I have not heard a Jinjer song yet that I am not amazed by this rock goddess Queen Tatiana, she is on a level that I don’t believe or have heard anyone else on, she is phenomenal, is there another word that is better if so I would use it to describe her. I may be biased because I was going through severe depression when I was introduced to this band and I got obsessed with them and they gave me something to concentrate on besides the things that I couldn’t escape for so long and helped get me out of the darkness that I didn’t believe I would survive. I love watching your reactions to the performers that I believe actually helped save my life. I can see that you are a true fan , I hope that I can find someone like you to enjoy their music with. Great reaction! Long-time Jinjer fan, here - I guess you can tell by my Icon - lol. But, I've met the band twice (VIP tickets are the only way to go) - and the last time, I was first in line - spoke with them during the meet and greet, and was the first to pick my spot. So, front and center, obviously. I was at El Corazon in Seattle (Washington, USA), which has literally zero space between stage and audience (so, no metal barrier, no photographer run-way). She toured with her husband's band (he's the drummer for Suicide Silence), so she seemed very relaxed and happy. Short story - when she got up on her riser - her boots would hit me in my stomach - and I had to look straight up to see her. When she crouched, her microphone nearly hit me in the nose twice - plus, when she did her head-bang and windmilling, her hair would hit me on the top of my head - plus I actually got a slow-mo of her hair hitting my phone's camera lens. When I got back to the hotel that night, I literally had to pick her hair out of my camera case. She runs around the stage, and jumps around a lot, but for the most part - I was probably about 12 inches from her while she was on stage.
Short story (besides the humble brag, of course) - they are an amazing band, especially live. They are very generous with their time, and they greatly appreciate their fans - I got more high fives and fist bumps from her than I have from anyone else, except for Simone Simons of Epica. It was a great time - she seemed so happy (it was their first stop on their US tour in October), and on three different occasions she took the time to crouch down to chat with me when she had a few seconds between songs. The metal credo - just be respectful - put your hand up (devil's horns of course), but don't reach toward the musician, just straight up, and definitely don't try to grab hands - if you do that, it's very disrespectful - and true metal heads are never disrespectful. So, if you just put your hand up, you'll be amazed at how many times a band member will come by and give you a high five or a quick hand-shake. So, go see them live - get the very front spot in the center (which you will have to defend, very vigorously) and have the time of your life!

saw jinjer in November, tried to get in front of the stage but wound up off to the right side of the stage behind some people. despite not being close as I wanted, she definitely noticed me singing along and frequently interacted with and noticed all parts of the audience, it was awesome!

I know what you mean by "hear on a loop". When I first discovered Jinjer (Pisces reaction) I bought all their albums and listened ONLY to them for 3 months straight

Yes, there are two kinds of growls/screams: fry, and false fold. These can also be mixed with voice and/or with each other. Also, even without voice, the throat space can be shaped like pronouncing different vowels, creating a change in perceived pitch.

Yes. Her growling sounds like male growls. Hear Opeth, she's as deep Michael Årkenfeldt. That's why, for Pisces, people recomended to you to see Live Sessions, because there's a studio version with only a picture of album cover, and some people just listenend without see and didn't get so amused because they thought it was a duel.

To answer your question, she does (to my ears) have quite a wide range on her growls. Sometimes she definitely sounds lower to me.

Teacher, Teacher, or On the Top are also great ones from Jinjer, but if you would like to expand your view on metal music, try one of the following: Eskimo Callboy - Hypa Hypa, Bloodywood - Ari, Ari, Ari, or Pain Of Salvation - Iter Impius / Martius Nauticus II live. Actually, you should try all of them, to see how different metal music can be :)
