Use it with delay. Use it with eqd night wire. The plumes will give you just a little hair all the way to fuzz tones. I’m running it into a Roland blues cube hot and I’ve been pretty impressed with it. One of my favorite settings is mode 3 with all knobs at 10 o’clock. Great pedal imo. Thank you, I recently switched back to Marshall amps and I’ve got a feeling I would get more use out of this kinda pedal in the drive channel, maybe I’ll revisit again in the future.
I actually run this with minimal gain, so more of a clean boost (mode: 2, vol: 1 o'clock, tone: 12-1 o'clock, gain: 7-8 o'clock. I play edge of breakup as is, I find this adds some chime and compression to my tone. Brightens up my Orange Tiny Terror nicely as I find the amp a bit dark.
Tone stack is too bright! They should have used a larger sized capacitor after the clipping to filter high frequencies to ground! There is a very simple mod one can do which is adding a capacitor in parallel to the one that is already there. This makes the pedal alot smoother sounding and almost "chewier" in response. You can solder this capacitor between lug 1 of the tone pot and lug 1 of the level pot. An easy mod that is easily reversible. I would recommend starting with alligator clips and small cap values to start with such as 3.9 nF for example.

Yeah an 808 will be much smoother, I bought the plumes three times now, once ages ago and didn’t like it, then I convinced myself to buy it again as it seemed to be a well loved pedal so I must be wrong, sold it after I made a video on it then bought it again to make this follow up video, sold it for good after this one 😂.

The best tube screamer like pedals I've heard are the Seymour Duncan 805 and the Timmy V2 (the real one).
My current favourite is the Origin Effects Halcyon Green Overdrive.
Took mine back . Not for me. Bought it based on the TH-cam hype. Ended up with a maxon 808 which I like .
