Different priorities for different people. Your priority seems to be convenience with packing the drone when walking/hiking. The Nano+ has it's quirks, but for image quality, it delivers outstanding results.
It doesn't look like it would fare well in wet weather, something my inexpensive FIMI X8-SE excels at. I'm seriously considering this Autel though due to the camera and relative portability. Also, in the US currently, the Autel runs around $700 in the full package while the Mini 3 Pro Fly More is over $1000. It sounds like the Mini has better tracking and obstacle avoidance, and I could see the upward angle capable camera being useful, but the camera doesn't appear to be better imaging and the Autel might have better signal. I've also heard the Autel is the king of low light in micro drones.

Apparently the Autel Smart Controller SE will support the Nano+ later this year. I actually really appreciate the battery level indicators on the battery themselves and not having to use the drone or the charge hub jut to determine state of charge.
Looks nice. Does the Autel require activation (ie. registering an account) or artificially limit you with "authorisation/geo zone", phone number requiring nonsense like DJI drones do? I don't want to ever have to connect the drone or its app to the internet for any reason, and I returned my Mini 2 because of that. I'm looking for a less obnoxious, less restrictive, more privacy friendly, standalone drone which still has a good camera.
@@nomadhomad3685 From what I've read of that, RID would not apply to recreational drones that weighs less than 250g. Whatever the case, it won't apply to me since it's a US ruling and I'm moving back out of the US within the year.
I said this since i reviewed the evo nano myself that i like this better than my dji mini 3,i purchased the evo nano standard version which is the 48mp version.The only thing i didn't like was that you can't dolly zoom and the speed could have been better but the camera is much better in my opinion and is what we look for when purchasing these drones.

I wish there was a way around this. Having a drone will be fun but really want it for shtf scenarios and with geofencing they could easily ground all the drones.

An option is to fly without sticks (it's easier to get smooth control inputs) Autel have recently released a new smart controller. Mini 3 also charges by USB, but you need a 30w charger for best charging speeds.
the disconnection issue isn't unique to the Nano, I also have it on the Evo II Pro V2 version. The Auto switch for the 2.4/5.8 doesn't seem to stat auto when you set it. I think Autel need to look at this and make sure the setting can be saved for the frequency selection. Perhaps also address the issue of the frequency switching reliability.

I prefer the Evo Nano due to both image quality and it's controller. It's not the more portable one, but I like feel it more comfortable like an Xbox gamepad. I decided buying it after seeing many comparisons with the Mini 3 Pro, and I'm very happy with it. Probably the signal is stronger too...wich is very important.
It does not have that ability. I can't even put my iPad mini in it, haven't found an adapter perhaps someone will 3D print one and make it available...?
yeah that seems to be the biggest critic....also it can't handle the wind, glitches, battery safety isn't quite as good etc. all that for 800 USD +? Im out unless they likecut the price in half
@@Matanumi, I disagree with you about the wind handling of the Nano+. It can handle stronger winds just fine! For proof see the video on my YT channel flying the Nano+ in strong winds. And that was before all the updates. The Nano+ gets better and better in time with updates. Maybe the Mini 3 Pro that I also own can handle winds even better, but the Nano+ is certainly capable of handling stronger winds. I am no DJI or Autel fanboy😀Greetings from 🇳🇱

Handle bars are always in the same place, pedals system is always the same, seat is generally the same shape, chains are universal technology, inner tubes generally universal across brands…
I have both the Nano + and the Mini 3. The Nano does have the better camera but when it comes to flying the Mini 3 just performs much better. Nano+ has better range than the Mini 3 but with the Standard battery the Mini Flys longer. I have to fly with the Nano+ obstacle sensors shut off because of all the false hits actually effect flying. Autel still has yet to deliver what the promised with this drone and the app and that in it's self is disappointing. The Mini 3 is the better value for the money. The camera advantage that the Nano+ has can be overcome in post edit. Now as a low light or night time drone then the Nano does have the better camera..

Put the sticks behind in the screws holes, on antenna. Perfect for storage.
Leave the sticks on where they go. .

You have to reverse the phone to controller cable, put the end in that has the little right angle and the top closes with no problem!

Already got the mini 3. But I thought of getting this as a spare so I can fly places where dji has geo fencing.

Yeah, I really need to be able to trust a drone otherwise I'm not going to fly long distance or take risks which means, less good shots.

I can't really help, I haven't got much experience with images of either. I use my Air2s for images, and that's great (if that helps)

Definitely not a DJI killer. I returned mine. It's flight dynamics is not even close to DJI. For me the difference was night, and day ! 🤷🏿♂️
