My recollection of the introductions in the first week are that Asma is a breast surgeon, hence her interest in bra making. I have watched all programmes and have no recollection of her saying that she was a professional bra maker, just that she makes her own and designed and made one for one of her mastectomy patients.

Enjoyed this weeks programme, but I have been fixated on the Patrick behind you Kim, LOL, the light on your video changes sometimes and Patrick appears to move. Very spooky. LOLLOL, I enjoy the Sewing Bee mostly, and really like to hear all of your opinions and I generally agree, it is interesting hearing from people who have been on the programme as well.

Come on guys. Aasma😅 is an NHS consultant and makes bras for breast cancer patients, whom she treats. She is not a bra maker or underwear expert. Do you actually watch the shows ?

I disagree with Kim this week. I think the diverse models are all excellent, and well able to strut depending on what they feel the dress, or outfit requires? The dress with the boning would have looked better with the white binding continued along the waist. I think Lizzie was the best choice to go this week, unfortunately; Mark may well be tripped up with some difficult fabric next week. Asmaa is a breast surgeon; she prefers to make her own bras, and she stated that she had not bought any bras for herself for years because she could not get a good fit, and that, in and of itself should not be regarded as prior knowledge, or advantage, other than knowing how to make a bra.
I enjoyed listening to Mark, he had great insights to share about the judging process.
I prefer Sara Pascoe to any of the previous presenters. I think she has great empathy with the contestants; Claudia was very shouty I thought.

I think they said that Asmaa makes bras for her patients after mastectomy? Not as something she sells but to help people.

Isn't Assma a surgeon? I thought she had just made bras for herself. That's a skill that others might not have. Her dress was absolutely fabulous 👍🏻🪡🧵

Maybe Kim needs to watch the show with subtitles on. It was pretty clear that she made them for herself and a few patients. Can't see where it could be inferred that she made them for sale.

loved Asmaa's dress, definitely the right choice for garment of the week. Transformation challenge is increasingly pointless as judging is not consistent and often garments are unwearable.

Agree with Mark about Aasma. She didnt say she'd sold bras, only that she'd made them for years and couldnt rmember when she last bought one.
Ive started making my own bras...it is tough, but fun!

I have really missed the technical demonstration/explanations and they really could do a better job of it. I thought they were giving the sample makers the pattern and asking them to achieve it in the time they were proposing it should be achievable, if not perfect. If they gave the contestants more time it should sort the capable and able from the unlucky. If you mess up even slightly, it can push everything out when rushing to finish. I thought the wrong person went this week. Perhaps it may be better to keep the final 6 and let them make all the remaining garments and the winner be picked from an accumulative point/overall success from that point.

Really enjoyed this week. So interesting to hear back stories and learn about your talents too. I think the transformation should be scrapped, but I love dressmaking and that isn’t entertaining for me personally. Thanks for doing these chats.

Great to have Mark on the show, hear his views and his experiences of the GBSB. Agree with Alistar about zip insertion, welt pockets would certainly be more of a challenge. Really enjoy listening. Thank you. Loved Asmaa's dress and the bodice of Vicky 's too.

Really really interesting to hear some of the background to the show. As I watch it from a sewing point of view it’s hard sometimes to remember it’s a competition and entertainment show. As you said they love a disaster because it makes better telly so they don’t want to level the playing field. I am so glad I found this show so I pick up technical tips too

Just wondering if the elastic on the waistband pulled it out of shape? That could account for Lizzies hook being skew wiff. Anyway I don’t recall cargo pants having elastic?

Matching your fabric to your pattern choice is a skill that you learn through experience and that is something you are being judged on.
Good chat folks. Nice to get some background from Marc. Yeah, Sophie Dahl was the model i thought of.

Enjoyed the chat again this week. Interesting to hear from Mark too and h i s anecdotes about his time in the gbsb. I'm another one who thinks that the improvisation challenge should be replaced.. I did like made to measure especially Asmaa's and how kind that she makes news for mastectomy patients.

Did I see a spray fixative on the show this week?? Again, the judging comparisons garment to garment is odd - creases in multiple, but only commented on for some....
