You are the first youtuber who's hormone/acne/health story I can truly relate to, thank you for your videos. I've put on so much weight and my skin has been horrific, I'm at the stage of dreading bumping into people I haven't seen in a while purely because I'm embarrassed at how much I've changed... Your story has given me hope that things will get better eventually so thank you .

How did it workout Carly? I don't live in Australia either and no one takes my skin issues seriously. Trying to find the right Dr or Naturopath but no one seems to want to take any blood for hormone levels or see what's really going on.

The best way to treat skin problems is to understand the root cause and treat it internally. In most cases the skin problems have direct co-relation to gut issues. Both are mediums of elimination for our body.

The amount of knowledge you've gained yourself in this journey is staggering. I'm struggling with pms myself, half the month I'm clear, the other half even worse than yours in the past. I guess I need to be inspired to be serious with it now.

I cannot tell you how many times I re-watch your videos about your skin/skincare. I've been off of hormonal birth control for about 5 months now and I've been struggling a LOT with my acne. Not that it's super severe, just very stubborn.

Your videos on this are SO informative and helpful. In the last two months i've had the most horrific acne breakout whilst travelling and have finally booked a doctors appointment. Pretty convinced I have PCOS, and its so reassuring to know this painful red cystic acne is healable. Its been an awful two months, people can't recognise me from my passport photo my face has got so bad. Feel so depressed, so thank you for giving me hope that things can get better

Hi Sarah, I just wanted to say thank you so much for making both of these videos about your acne and hormones!! It has really given me a new drive to find out what is going on in my own body and you also helped realise that there is hope for me. Like you said, my body is trying to tell me something so I need to listen. I have an auto immune disease and have also struggled with weight my whole life and more recently, acne. I, just like you have tried so many different things to try and get better and I feel like I am running out of options. I eat Paleo and Vegan, try to eat lots of organic and raw whenever possible and see holistic practitioners. I hope you read this to let you know that you have helped me a lot by sharing your story. xx

Thank you for sharing!!! I’ve got PCOS and my 20yr old daughter was just diagnosed. It was deep cystic acne in my 30’s that led to my diagnosis. It was so frustrating, but like you, I felt relieved to find an answer for why!!

Crazy thing... I started following Sarah roughly 6 months ago and watched part of this video and several others. Right around that time I started to make progress in my health mess and didn't think this really applied to me. I then of course completely forgot I had watched this video at all.
I saw a new doctor and got diagnosed with PCOS yesterday and thought it sounded so familiar, but a family member has it so I assumed I was remembering it from her. I searched for PCOS just now out of curiosity and realized I watched this video way back then. Small world.
Love you Sarah! P.S. Naturopaths are the best.

TESTIMONY ON HOW I WAS CURED FROM HERPES VIRUS. Do not allow your doctor to tell you that there is no cure for herpes, lupus virus, and cancer, so many people have lost their life because of doctor report, doctor is not God and they do not have the final say about your health report so do not believe on doctor, they only say what they know and that is not final. i almost committed suicide because doctor told me that i have herpes virus and that there was no cure for it, but today i am 100% negative with the cure of doctor Okougbo herbal medicine, i have refer several of people to this doctor for cure and he has never fail. contact doctor Okougbo today on his cure for lupus virus, cancer, als and herpes cure to 100% negative forever whatsapp/call +2347062217261 email dr.okougboherbalhome@gmail.com

Thank you SO much for this follow-up video, as well as the original. I'm going through the same exact thing that you were going through, and what stuck out the most to me is when you said that you were hopping from potential solution to potential solution instead of listening to your body and solving the actual problem, not the side effects. I even went back on the pill myself out of desperation, when my primary reason for going off of it in the first place was not wanting to pump all of those unnecessary hormones into my body. I had a gut feeling a few weeks ago that I might have PCOS, but watching your videos kind of sealed the deal. With that being said, I'm calling my doctor tomorrow.

Thank you so much for posting this video! I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and have the same issues as you--breaking out, weight gain that won't go away, all that. My first doctor said the same thing too about not being overweight or hairy enough...but I knew that for my body and what it is used to, I was much heavier than I was meant to be and heavier than I ever was. Anyway, I'm in the midst of finding things that will help my situation, and after watching your video I am EXTREMELY interested in finding a homeopathic doctor in my area. Thanks again!

okay i'm so happy i find both of your video about acne, this is totally me! I have acne since 15 (i'm 19), i quit school, i lost all my jobs and friends because of that, i dont want to go out, or to work i dont want people see me like that ... Like you i was thin, beautiful skin, but then came period and boom...
I have pcos too but i'm not in medication anymore since last year, and i'm so tired to control EVERYTHING that i do in my life, i'm scare to eat cacao too, eggs, meat, nuts, all carbs, and even fruits!.
Since january I had try to do weight training 3/5 times a week (i love fitness and nutrition because of my pcos now^^) + moderate my carb + apple cider vinegar before each meals, for insulin resistance, i lost weight and my skin is SO MUCH better, but not clear....
I try supplements saw palmetto + vitamin E,A,C,zinc, selenium, inositol and magnesium right now but i know i missing something ... This help me a lot, i think i'm gonna go see a naturopath too! I hope this will help me? cause i'm really angry & frustrated! thanks

I've been watching your channel for a while and love your videos! I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago and have been wanting to find a good naturopath in Sydney for a while as my endocrinologist just gives me prescriptions and I want to treat my symptoms more naturally. I was also put on Yasmin and am currently still on it because of acne (caused by PCOS)....so I am very reluctant/nervous to get off it! Thanks for making these videos Sarah, they're super informative :)

As someone with pcos, it’s really inspiring to see such a beautiful and inspirational and overall healthy women who also suffers from it. I always felt really alone and a little embarrassed. I hate my skin and my irregular periods and horrid cramps and all my other symptoms. Furthermore, the fact that I might not be able to have children terrifies me constantly. I worry about becoming diabetic and all these other things. Not many people really know what pcos is, and I’m still not entirely educated on it either so it’s always hard to find someone to confine in. I guess it’s just really great to see someone as successful and upbeat as you be able to overcome the same issues I currently have.

I'm a little late seeing this video but this last year I have been "diagnosed" with PCOS (even though i show signs of both it and endometriosis) however i just wanted to tell you thank you for sharing this video with the public. I quit taking the pill even though it helped regulate my symptoms caused by the syndrome because I didn't like the idea of what a birth control pill can cause women in the future. In my 6 or so months without my pill i have gotten some regular cycles but the symptoms are very apparent to me. I NEVER heard of holistic remedies for PCOS prior to seeing this video so I am very very excited to start to look into this more! I live in the US so it may be difficult because most of the doctors I have seen tell me all the bad things this syndrome does but they tell me to change my lifestyle and take the pill but it isn't that easy as I'm sure you know yourself. Thanks for being open and strong through a battle that too many women face, including myself. All the love xo

Have u also tried intermittent fasting? I also have PCOS and it is helping BIGGGGG TIME!! I do break out sometimes but my skin tends to clear up when I'm training ALOT like...5 days a week one after another intensely and up until I started intermittent fasting I couldn't budge a single pound due to PCOS. I'm 5'6 I was eating 1,400 cals a day and working out and noo weight was coming off. The best part about intermittent fasting is that I have had such mental clarity...I cannot remember the last time I didn't have mental fog up untill now. Been doing it since Sept.

WOW! In the years and years of doing the exactly thing you did- endless research, trying every thing imaginable, doctors, creams, BC, all of that. This has been by far the MOST relatable! I have PCOS, insane high testosterone, all that- same thing, confirmed with my naturopath and I am in the middle of trying to clear my skin still. It's probably the worst its ever been, and I'm 26 now, and it's definitely frustrating. I struggle with not even wanting to come out of the house, not wanting to see my boyfriend, not wanting him to get close to my face, always wishing for 'darker restaurant lighting' when we go out. So silly, and you are the first person that I've been able to understand! SO encouraging! I wish I could get more detailed information, being that I'm in US, and can't get some of those herb blends, etc. you are such a light, thank you very much. Also- in the thousands TH-cam videos I've watched, this is probably the 2nd time I've ever been so compelled to comment! Hah!

I'm taking similar things, some different, all my symptoms match the high testosterone levels symptoms, so I did some research on what foods to eat and supplements to take and I've been on it for about a week. Of course I don't expect my skin to clear up right away, I hope it doesn't take forever. I damn well hope these diet and supplements works for my skin and hormones, I'm tired of having shattered self confidence, and your videos give me hope.

I'm also struggling terribly with weight, and also found out recently that I have PCOS, so your videos are actually very inspiring and relatable for me to watch. It's crazy to hear your story as I thought I was listening to myself.... I too broke out like that around 14/15... I too got severe cystic acne for years... I too went on Diane, I too went on Yasmin (on that now..) and I too know how it all feels....... I did go on Accutane (a couple of times actually) and although it worked wonders obviously it never got to the root of the problem (just ruined my liver probably) and here I am, 10 years later, still struggling.....
I found your video (the first one on this topic) because I was looking for experiences on coming off of Yasmin. I hate how it makes me feel (mentally) but I love how it calmed down my skin... I am terrified, absolutely terrified, that I am going to have to quit. Because I know without a doubt I am going to have full blown cystic acne again, at 28. Ugh.
But I know it's time to finally take care of myself rather than mask these problems with poisonous pills that might give me so much worse problems later on in life! I need to find myself a naturopath and get myself checked properly for once. I have wanted to get my hormonal balance thoroughly checked for the longest time but just assumed no doctor would agree. I really hope I can find someone like your (natural) doctor to help me out!
Thanks so so much for posting this and being so clear and honest :). You have no idea how good it is to finally hear something that fully resonates with you!

Neha Jain Hi! I have found a gynaecologist that focusses on a holistic approach. She had looked at my story, including all my bloodwork that has been done, genetic information from DNA testing and hormonal testst on progesterone and estrogen (+metabolites). She said I have high estrogen levels, my body does not methylate well, I have gut issues and immune system issues. She said I likely have insulin resistance and maybe PCOS (which I dont understand because I had high progesterone (way high..)). I have another appointment on friday where she will tell me what the plan is. I had also found a naturopath that was really good, but I wanted to try it one more time with regular doctors, and I feel like that was a great move! :) I am also getting my gut health, liver and kidney function checked but my guess it they will find nothing else and my diagnosis regarding my gut will remain at IBS.
Are you dealing with similar issues?

First I wanna thank you soooo much sharing this video cause it saved my life. I was experiencing acne and it was a strange and unknown topic for me. I have never been experienced that much acne except small ones that pop up when specific days of the month comes. This video help me to consider whether i may experiencing hormonal acne aka high testosterone levels. I have tried to find natural remedies to lower testosterone in my body and find out that mint is a very clever way to clear acne. In short now every morning I am literally chewing mint after the breakfast and later in the day making hempseed or flaxseed smoothie...uh u should see my skin right now and how was it before. Now i am happy because you gave me the clue about hormonal acne thanks again✌🏻😊 ( by the way i had seen three doctors before i started my natural remedy and they could just not tell me whats wrong with my face)

This seems like SO much and just makes me super resentful and jealous towards people with nice skin. Like with all of this stuff to take and pills, herbs, etc, its literally like an obsession. U can hear it in your voice as your explaining throughout the video. Its really sad those of us that suffer with acne become obsessed with the path to clear skin, its not fair. 😥

    Hi Sara,
Tip for PCOS, don't eat sugar or GMOs because PCOS is likely caused by exposure to glyphosate which is sprayed on GMOs. Good luck, you'll be fine. Lots of women still conceive even with PCOS! Also, consuming more potassium help reduce fluid retention in the lower extremities.

I first watched this video almost a year ago. My skin was the worst it had been in a while and I was sick of the antibiotics and pills that the doctors were giving me. I wanted to try a more natural approach and found this video and it has helped so so much. It introduced me to supplements and led me on to do lots of research into them and how they can help with acne. I noticed a difference within a month and now my skin is sooo much clearer (I still get the odd spot here and there but I don't really notice because it's one or two spots when it used to be 20!!). I've now raved about supplements to everyone I know and they all think I'm a bit mad but I wanted to come back to this video to not only say thank you for posting it but for anyone out there who is contemplating trying any supplements and is wondering whether they work - they 100% have for me! I now take (get ready...this may be slightly over excessive but I don't know specifically which one works for my skin so I carry on taking them all haha) vitamin C, vitamin d, omega 3, evening primrose oil, magnesium, zinc, turmeric and a probiotic. Good luck xxx

I like that you say it like it is. Acne sucks, period. I didn’t start getting it until I was 17 and it was normally a blackhead that would turn into a pimple, but this summer my skin just changed. I have blackheads near my upper cheeks, and on my chin that get inflammed after a while, and tiny under the skin bumps. My sister and my mother have beautiful skin and I didn’t undertand why I suffered with mild acne. But then I started to notice some other things, things I had before my acne got a little worse. I was always irregular, painful periods, insomnia, anxiety, then depression, and finally the acne. I knew my body was trying to tell me something was wrong and I finally listened. Doctors said I was physically fine, or that I’m still young it will probably go away. Went to my lady doctor, and found many multiple cysts in both my ovaries. And according to my bloodwork insulin level appears normal but testosterone levels are high otherwise known as PCOS; what fun. It was sad because as a woman, making a normal amount of progesterone should be natural but I can’t. But the good news is I finally know what it is and I can kick it’s ass. I was prescribed Birth Control a month ago and for a six month plan. But after the treatment I want something that actually helps my hormones naturally and doesn’t just suppress them. I found your blog while looking at videos for PCOS and I fell in love with your natural vitamin routine. I live in the US in a small town where PCOS is not really something people know about but I contacted your naturapth and he is going to help even if we are a time zone away. Your skin looks beautiful and it’s encouragement for me to know that my skin can also improve. I just wanted to let you know you gave hope to someone from the other side of the world :) and can’t wait to start my natural hormone routine.

Great video Thanks!.. I was diagnosed with PCOS in May. Having suffered with an eating disorder and been very underweight for some years, when i came off the pill (after 8 years) a couple of years ago i was horrified by my skin, and the weight gain!... I gained from very underweight to a 'healthy' but chubby weight in just over a year. Right now i am struggling hugely with my self confidence and desperate to loose weight and balance my hormones!. I have just seen a private hormone doctor an will be starting progesterone treatment (bio-identical hormone therapy) in Jan. But your videos are great for advice on diet and other herbal supplements. I live in the UK so might have to have look round for a natropath as i don't think we have many here, but i am definitely going to give carb cycling/ low carb high fat a go!. Did you struggle with weight gain before u were diagnosed??
