I know Arturia has said to avoid upgrading but I haven’t heard of any specific issues yet. Regardless I am holding off since my system is Arturia-Heavy.
The biggest hurdle is the retailer isn't on my side. I would love to a public letter from sweetwater urging developers to meet their customers expectations, and meet the same expectations of post production and graphic design, not to mention developers own tools. Instead of telling customers "be patient" you should tell developers, in the coming year you will see us promote and push heavily products that run on the latest operating systems. Apple gives them a 4 month runway, and there are plenty of hints dropped prior to that about becoming compliant when new hardware models come out. Don't tell me to be patient, give me data on what companies have successfully launch on that 4 month long runway for the past 5 release. They deserve that free press. You might not sell more of the same product, but you will move more software by informing customers of the companies that are hitting the mark, and people will switch and discover new complaint things, from competent development teams who aren't stuck in the past. I need to upgrade because I don't just make music, I make software too, and I need the latest version of xCode to be compliant... i wonder if this is a self fulfilling curse, the devs aren't upgrading because they want their after hours hobby to still function, and their after hours hobby doesn't function because they wont upgrade.
Id love to upgrade my Mac but I upgraded to logic 10.8 and hit a major issue that turned out to be a compatibility issue with kontakt, but upgrading that fixed it but put me off upgrading my Mac for now
MITCH! I’m thinking of buying a new MacBook with Sonoma. I’m running Presonus Studio One MPC Native Instruments Maschine and Arturia Analog V collection mainly. Thanks for the video!
Nothing for audio, no need to “upgrade”. Wish Apple would go to a 2 year full point upgrade cycle. Yearly dot point updates are fine. Thanks for the info and the compatibility guides.
@@miguelhowell3048 I fixed it but you’re gonna have to backup on a hard drive. I was able to go back a few operating systems. I forgot how but there’s multiple vids on it
I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me. I have a MacBook Pro that I’d like to do some production and voiceover work with. Unfortunately, when I am monitoring my microphone over my headset, I am hearing not only the voice in my head but also a delay over the mic. Can anybody tell me how to get rid of that delay so I’m listening to my voice in real time?
You're probably needing to adjust the buffer size on your DAW (LogicProX, Cubase, Protools?). Its likely set to 256 or 512. Set it higher to 1024. I have logic so I dont know how the other DWs handle it. Hopefully thats the case and this will be of help.
I used to use studio one on a daily basis but stopped for about two years or so, and now that I’m trying to use it again with my macOS Sonoma version I keep getting a yellow dot on the top right corner of the studio one interface that says microphone. Already check under privacy and security to make sure the button allowing access to studio one was on, and it is but still having issues with audio. 😢
Hi, my first time in ur channel, thks for sharing I have a question, I has been trying to download a free trial from izotope ozone advanced 11 It look like it download, but it’s doesn’t open It just keep telling me To go to the same process Over and over, my password nd then it looks it’s downloading but in the las window when’s it says finished after I click it, nothing happens. Say that again.... Sonoma 14.4 and Ableton Live 12, what a disaster. Even Live 11 gives tons of crashes. I've stopped wasting time and uninstalled the Ableton world from my machines. Sonoma is running great! It's the daw that I mention here making life not any better at the moment.

We're getting my Pops an M2 Mac for Christmas so I can teach him to record and this was useful. Thanks so much Sweetwater ✌🏼
Running Bitwig and hundreds of vsts for 4 weeks, so far so good
Really helpful. Thank you. I'm considering upgrading from Ventura to Sonoma too.

I have found that some of the programs in NI Komplete Kontrol do not work under OS Sonoma yet.

Thanks Mitch!

You don't have to update it every year. Stay a year back, you'll still get the security updates.
This is all good but my M2 macbook updated to Sonoma on a restart without me intending it. Watch out for this.
Do you have automatic updates enabled?
If anyone uses Antares Auto-tune do not update it’s not available on Sonoma yet
How do I downgrade I literally can’t even hear my audio on protools

Boss studio (software for rc5 looper) does not currently work :/
LUNA gets sooo laggy on my fully spec'd M1 Macbook. I don't experience anything like it in Studio One, Logic or Ableton
Cool!!!❤

Aun sigue fallando o ya esta mejor ? quiero actualizar sigo en ventura
I'm about to update to Sonoma 14.6.1 but its not up on Avids Protools compatibility chart. Has anyone does this yet? Does it all work?
iZotope don't support Sonoma. Just a heads-up.

I upgraded to Sonoma and most of my plugins and virtual instruments were wiped out of my system 😵💫😵💫
running cubase pro 13 and logic pro x with over 2000(😂) plugins... ZERO Problems
you havent opened up 0ver 2000 plugins .....
I like mac but this is why i stuck to windows for music production, backwards compatibility!!
