- We recently bought a new laptop for my sister who's in college. I briefly explained in the VLOG why did we choose this particular laptop and why it could be the best for college students

Got the Ryzen 5 5500u version with 8gig ram 256gb SSD for 33,990. It's a barebones laptop out of the box, as such, no MS office, no bloatware. I was lucky to get the last stock of Ryzen. I don't know why but the Philippine market is flooded with Intel versions.

Yes pwede sya sa light gaming, video editing, and programming 😸 sa Asus store Lazada namin binili pero Ryzen 5 na lang natitira nila 😿 s.lazada.com.ph/s.WIfZQ I would still recommend Ryzen 5 counterpart nila tapos pwede nyo padagdag ng another 8gb yung RAM sa service center nila tho yung binili namin sa store 8+8gb na.. sayang wala na yung same unit 😢
Try nyo po babaan yung maximum processor state para di masyadong uminit. Un lang medyo baba din performance pero para sakin sakto lang din haha

mine has a sort of buzzing/static noise to it on the right side of the keyboard. I exchanged it for another one as I assumed the first one was defective but the same noise remains on the second laptop. I am only able to hear this when my ear is very close to the keyboard. Do other people have the same noise?

I think asus has a better reputation in terms of durability kaya yun ang gino-goal namin 😅 sinwerte lang sa nakitang specs kasi unlisted na sya ngayon sa asus lazada store 🥺 good luck sa pagbili!
Acer nitro 5 is catered for gamers mas mataas refresh rate ng screen at bigger coolers but sa cpu mas better to

Ayun lang pero if 8gb lang meron pwede mo ipa-expand pero sa service center dapat nila para di ma-void warranty. Marami naman silang service center! Minsan swertehan talaga sya 🥺 basta ryzen 5 or 7 oks na yan 😅 try mo siguro message store nila sa lazada baka plan nila magrelease 👉🏼👈🏼

got mine for 51,303 ryzen 7, 16GB ram/512 SSD. ubusan din kasi ng laptop dito sa davao at gensan. you can order/purchase it sa PC CENTRAL, very accommodating din mga staffs nila.

I have this question too. And in regards to the screen brightness. It is a bit glarey.. or matte which is unexpected. Bright at bottom and dark at the top esp with black background. Any review on this?

Kakacheck ko lang wala naman 😺 pero pala, with any laptop, I don't recommend putting it on lap for several reasons like possible mag-short sya while in contact sa body nyo, etc 🙂

Hahaha 😅 I always prefer a windows machine because it's cheaper. I just checked in the Apple US store and the direct counterpart of this Vivobook in terms of RAM and storage costs 2799 USD (16GB RAM x 1 TB Storage).. but even then, it is only being powered by i7 😄 I also used a MacBook and I get it.. the interface is great.. its color science is good. However, on a very rare situation in my editing using Premiere Pro in my PC, it lags even on my Ryzen 5 PC rig (a bit of user error if I overdo coloring 😅).. so maybe it would perform worse in a Mac 💀
Anyway, you can save a lot of money and buy something nice if you will choose the Vivobook 😝 just make sure to get the Ryzen 5 unit at the minimum haha!

Depends on the processor and graphics card installed because it can vary 😺 but for laptops like this that only has integrated graphics, definitely I'd go to the one that has ryzen 5 at least

Same silang plastic pero mukhang di to super magiinit kasi wala naman syang separate graphics card (mas mainit kasi pag may hiwalay na graphics kaya dapat mas bulky sila with better exhaust) and mukhang di na sya maghihingalo kasi ok yung specs nya 🙂
Also, kilala si Asus na matibay at gumagawa din sila ng gaming line 🙂

For the most WFH requirements yes 😺 you can write codes and do programming with this laptop. Also good for multitasking because of its Ryzen CPU. If you couldn't find a laptop with Ryzen 7 in the market, Ryzen 5 should also be good. Hope this helps! 😸

How to check the BIOS?
depends on the laptop but for this particular model, just press the F2 button upon turning on the laptop (like after you press the power button)

For normal use, took us 4hrs before it reaches its low battery status. Hope this helps! 😸

And Video editing? Good?
Yes! I tried editing a 10 min video in this laptop recently and the rendering and exporting time are good, considering that it doesn't have a dedicated GPU.
Integrated graphics is the graphics "card" that is included in the processor (Ryzen 7) and since the Ryzen 7 is already at the top tier of processors, the graphics included should be able to handle basic gaming and video editing.
When I exported a 10 minute video from Filmora X, it only took me 9 minutes to finish the task. My personal PC with 1650S graphics card can do just a bit better in exporting but this stat is already very decent.
Another factor is that this laptop is only using SSD so all processes that runs in it are faster than what it would do in a Hard Disk Drive.
If you can't find a Vivobook with Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5 is your 2nd best bet. I don't think the i7 can have the same performance as Ryzen 7, or even Ryzen 5. There are so many Vivobooks out there with different processors and even features like touch screen and biometrics. Just make sure to choose the right processor for your need. Hope this helps 😸

Hello, have you experience this? I just got it today and it only gives me 99% for the battery. It says 6 mins to fully charged. I waited and came back its still 99, and once said wait for 6 mins to fully charged. Just worried if that’s an issue or what. Is it normal that the last 1% takes time to fill in?
Charge to 99 then shutdown and wait 1-2 hours
