    I agree about the alien contact, its absurd to think a race that is capable of harnessing the energy nessicary to travel any meaningful distance in space would be interested in resources from a planet of intelligent beings, knowledge is the ultimate resource everything else can be found on lifeless planets or created.

    • @rudibotha3947
      @rudibotha3947 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Even the concept of travelling to distant galaxies is a very difficult thing at this point, I'm sure that there is a way but the human race has not yet figured that part out yet. Like to me all the greatest minds in the world need to come together to figure out the best ways to travel in outerspace.

    Very enjoyable. But in regards to the point about all alien visitors will be interested only in ideas; even a species with exceptional abilities like our own will be vulnerable to error, which could in turn
    lead to hostility toward other species. Over time, errors may be corrected, but perhaps small comfort to those harmed on the way to correction.

    We are in the beginning of infinity. Progress is the only way forward. Rational optimism is the path toward progress. Knowledge turns useless trash into valuable resources. To acquire knowledge, we need to study reality and propose creative hypothesis that we can test out on markets.

    If there will be more species as capable as humans then there will be more chances of competition for resources among them than cooperation and eventually over a long period of time there will remain only one human like species due to competition and after that winning species will grow , gains knowledge and collect more resources (add compounding effects , also leveraging technology to speed up the process )which leads to complete extinction of the possibility of emergence of any new species in the same environment .

    • @growthaddiction4275
      @growthaddiction4275 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re not wrong if the two entities where comparable. But if another species has the capabilities and resources to reach us, that means they’re so far advanced compared to us that we wouldn’t be of value to them. Or a threat to them. So they don’t need our resources and they sure as hell don’t see us as competition.

    12:35 I once heard Neil DeGrasse Tyson say we so much smarter than the chimpanzees though we differ like 5% genetically, and he said sometimes he's wondering if a dog is looking at him and thinking "he thinks I don't know general relativity" as a joke, and he thought there is a possibility that aliens can be as smarted than us as we are to chimps despite the small genetic difference, if the guest is referring to this talk, he is grossly misquoting Tyson.

    it's easier to conceptualize reality now a days after we've seen game worlds as models of reality, the true limit of reality is imagination, the only laws are mathematical laws, game worlds have different physics and it's manually set, the universe isn't different, physics are something that is manually set, it doesn't hold perfectly, like how physics in games don't always work perfectly as they should, for the most part the physics is consistent but it's not absolute truth, absolute truth exists only in the abstract, only after definition is applied, we're living in more or less in the psychic reality theory, reality isn't permanent, it's defined,

    I've been searching google and wondering if we can travel at the speed of light and unfortunately at this point in time it's not possible, also how long will it take to leave the solar system, and if we have the technology to leave and unfortunately it would take the human race thousands of years. So the idea of even travelling from galaxy to galaxy or solar system to solar system feels almost impossible and i agree about the alien idea it is one in a million.

    • @m_squre

      You can’t say that for sure. The universe is so vast that we will probably never be able to discover even half of it; therefore, you can’t deny something if you don’t have the mean to deny it. Just as you can’t confirm something without the mean to prove it
