Something worth noting about your 60 hour calculation is that the editor and player can be working at the same time, so while the 60 hours is a good estimate for total time worked on a video, the actual amount of minimum time for a video to get done is just the editing time. Also, some 100 days youtubers don't record all of the gameplay footage, you can generally get away with a few minutes of footage per day, so there isn't neccesarily that much footage to go through. An editor could reasonably get one of these videos edited in 30 hours, so a week isn't strictly unfeasible.
@@proplayerplayz I do think that if your brand is being consistent, then it makes sense, lol I do agree that some videos may have a few minutes less, a few days skipped and such, but in general, I think that I just want to see something fun into watch. Also, a second thing, what if you play multiple worlds at the same time? If you play on one world for a week and then the next week you play on two worlds and suddenly you only need a few hours a week on each world to have a new video out every week or so. I think there is the possibility that some consistent uploaders might just be using that strategy or a similar one. You could, theoretically, play Minecraft at max 10 hours per week and still upload every week if you just stack gameplay, which I don't see anyone mentioning when this topic is brought up. We simpl don't know exactly how the time is being spent while playing, but some TH-camrs will mention that they weren't filming when something happened, so that's also a factor, definitely
You might not know many people who could play ten hours straight, but let me tell you, I used to play 10 hours straight per day, for fun. I know so many people who still do from my time playing on servers, it’s not as uncommon as you would think
I used to play for 10 hours often as well. (12-18 hours if nothing important to do during a free weekend) But even so, it could still take a week (more than 2 weeks on a solo creator + editing) just to finally have a complete video.

All the fans who bothered to stick with Jerome since before he was even a Minecraft TH-camr (he did Call of Duty videos with BajanCanadian and Nooch on a separate channel from 2008 until 2012, before rising to fame in SkyDoesMinecraft’s “Team Crafted”) should know that, and probably they do know that. Jerome’s not a bad guy though. He just has to adjust to the new trends to survive. Look at BajanCanadian, his best friend. Deemed irrelevant when he tried a brand refresh back in 2021. Nooch? Went down the pipes when trying to quit Minecraft in 2015. SkyDoesMinecraft? He was cancelled for being an uncharged felon. Jerome doesn’t want to go the same path as his old friends. So let him do what he wants. That’s all.

My initial reaction was, “Do they have beef again?”, but then I saw Jerome’s tweet about him asking Adam (Sky) to take down a video featuring Jerome and Co. because he was unaware of the extent of his wrongdoings. That’s when I was like, “Wait, something’s wrong if even Jerome’s against him now. Something VERY wrong.” So I looked and god damn, he was indeed a menace. I bet you he’s the reason MinecraftUniverse sold his channel.
Don't get me wrong, I know half of the channels I watch fake their videos, half of them don't even do it that well for that matter. But I still can't deny I love watching them despite how fake they are. I think it comes down to the fact that back when I started I wasn't really able to catch on, so I just like watching stuff I used to think was real.

You guys seem forget that not only does Jerome upload to 3 channels daily, but he also streams regularly, he also has a pretty sizable backlog of videos, and records his videos weeks/months ahead
I use to watch Team Crafted back then, was a huge fan of them. But over time things change and so do we. After their fall out a lot of them have changed (And not for the best) But sadly enough Jerome was mostly in it for the money and views it seems like and when that group fell he had to come up with something and well action have consequences
I disagree in a way. I think Jerome did this, not to gain views and money, but to keep his viewers by jumping into trends that he thought would entertain his fans. While he did this trend terribly wrong and cheated in it, there are a couple things we have to recognize. 1. He has to work around the schedules of his friends because it is a lot more difficult to make content with other people and their personal lives. 2. He has to find new ideas for his content so he isn't just doing the same thing all the time. Views are apart of it, but I don't believe that is the focus for his career.

@@Rob526 I wouldn't add Lachlan in that mix personally. There are times were he drops a cuss. He will just edit it with some sound effect. But a huge reason for that is because of TH-cam's restrictions that could legitimately get them banned from TH-cam. Even Jacksepticeye doesn't cuss nearly as much as he would use to. Unfortunately, TH-cam sucks because it doesn't allow creators to have real personalities without banning them from making content.

Thing is people like Lachlan are rich enough they don't have to keep milking more money, they can live extremely comfortably just with a bit less money but they do it. Which is fine, but it shows they aren't prioritizing fans, or at least not in anyway asides from amassing them and monetizing them. There is also a difference between marketing to exclusively children and cursing. Lachlan may not be in that group, I assumed he was since he instantly jumped ship to fortnite and has been mass producing clickbait for years which was essentially the new trend that children liked replacing minecraft. For example I don't know if i've ever seen dunkey curse, but he is not marketing mainly towards children. Same with a bunch of content creators. Personally I think if you have a fanbase you have a connection with you would be willing to fall in relevance to make good content for them, and or adjust with them. Not jumping to any trend to get as many children clickbaited by the 50th 100 day mcdonalds minecraft (hardcore) challenge. I hold no real issues with people that do this, but i don't think it's accurate to try and make someone like Jerome some guy who is doing his best to entertain his audience when it's more accurate to say he's trying to monetize dishonest clickbaiting via the younger generation. For the record I love Jerome as well as lachlan and still rewatch some of there old content. Ssundee is the most egregious of these types of people. I feel blessed that Bajan never did it to a high extent and ended up pulling away from content creation so I didn't have to watch a fraction of my childhood morph into some clickbait farm like preston did.
To be fair, 100 days is not the focus of Jerome's channel. He does it a decent amount, sure, but he also has to work on many other videos. As a fan of Jerome's channel, I like to avoid the 100 day challenge videos because even I recognize it's scripted and fake content. But everything else on Jerome's channel is great in my opinion.

instead of trying fool the viewer and fake a 100 days video, i think it would be even more entertaining to even more funny to intentionally fake a series as a joke and wait till the viewers figure it out.. once people figure it out you reveal it was a joke all along and then point out on the hints you left for the viewers through out the series... it might not be much but i think there is a good video idea somewhere in these above lines...
Think about this from jerome he's doing the 100 days not to do the really 100 days he's telling a story in his video if you don't understand that than you haven't watched all or understand the plot of each 100 days at the beginning of each video it mentions it s a vacation trip so it's a more of a story pack than a 100 days.
The best 100 days TH-camrs gotta be: LukeTheNotable ofc, Sb737, PaulGG, and disruptive builds cuz they all take pride in what they do Edit: I definitely could put more but those are like the biggest ones I could think of that I watch personally

Ryguyrocky is a roleplay youtuber i have talked to him before he used to be popular back in the day for roleplay and still does roleplay videos just in a different format he is honestly one of the most chill and honest dudes I've met

My favourite 100 days MCYTs are probably ForgeLabs (and his friends) and Fixxit 412 since they go further to create storylines out of their vids which makes it more engaging to me personally. I do enjoy LukeTheNotable as well ofc since he’s the og, but I enjoy the editing styles of the other two more
Its diff. You see letsplays in basically real time 100 days is typically narrated over pre recorded content, mostly modded, or challenges, theres a difference and u would tell if u were a sleep content kinda person
Remember that jerome dosent make the videos for the views but for the people watching him the 100 days was asked by his community and they kept asking him to make different ones the guy doesn’t have enough free time to do everything he isn’t god plus he doesn’t need to do those 100 days video he get more views from lucky block and the 100 days video are just a way for him to cover modpack the community is asking him to do so that he can get them off the list of things to do so don’t call someone greedy just because they put 100 days in the video oh and btw the time jerome skipped in that video was perp time to learn the mechanics of the modpack and to collect resources to show people what to do plus if he wanted views he would just make hardcore 100 days since that way more popular than normal 100 days or modded 100 days
the 100 Days is a curse, it suffers from over saturation, like it was intriguing, at first, but this 100 Days stuff has spilled over everywhere 100 days in Project zomboid 100 days in Rimworld 100 days in fucking Garfield Go Kart. Like I could've, somewhat understood the 100 days trend in minecraft because they had these two objectives: 1. Survive until 100 days (piss easy, even in modded minecraft if you have a wheat farm you are surviving easy unless modded to make it harder) 2. Do an elaborate construction stuff before 100 Days arrive (which is the interesting part and what makes the surviving part actually interesting because they are putting themselves at risk) but at this point this 100 Day trend is just another name for a let's play that's heavilly summerized, instead of saying "Welcome to episode one of Hardcore minecraft" it's "So from day 1 to 3 I built the cock and ball machine to to CBT to the Villagers and get their loots at a discount"
You can't say ryguyrocky is trying to establish himself in the minecraft community he has been around for so long and he has a team who makes it and more then one editor they put them out more often because they changed it up now how they make it but
I will honestly never understand why these TH-camrs fake the 100 days videos. You could still daily upload and just do videos like "100 Days In Minecraft (Days 1-25)" or something like that. People wouldn't get upset over faked content, and any one could just turn 100 days videos into a mini series, and get MORE content out of 1 playthrough
the 60 hour estimate doesn't take into account that you might have a video recorded one week prior to uploading, so the editor is working on this weeks video (recorded last week) while you are playing next weeks vid
100 days in a week is fully possible, it would be stressful but its very possible, people like forge's lab edit their video while recording it which helps cut down on editing time and there people like acookiegod who play mc for 10+ hours a day for non 100 days video while its good to call out people who fake video's it feels wrong to the people who work all day so they can get video out weekly/ bi weekly

As a coward who sleeps every night unless I have a good reason not to, I'd estimate that it takes me like maybe 20 hours to get through 100 days of Minecraft. Still a lot of gameplay time, time spent making notes, editing, doing commentary, making a thumbnail, etc. I could see a legit video a week being realistic if you no-lifed it, but yeah, anything past that is pushing it. And it's frankly human nature to take shortcuts. I'm sure deaths are a big thing along with purely fabricated vids. A lot of hardcore MC TH-camrs do the bosses toward the end, so imagine if you died on the Wither on day 90 lol. You'd probably open to LAN with cheats enabled and save your world - especially if you're a professional TH-camr and the next video is your next paycheck.

On fizzy bangers video, sb737 left a comment saying you can maintain a weekly upload schedule with 100 days. He plays for 18-20 hours, and when it’s your full time job, it can be done in 3-4 days, and then the editors take another few days to edit it

yeah i think a lot of really popular minecraft youtubers are either playing it up for the views or just love screaming and yelling. i cant watch their videos because of the screaming, it feels disingenuous and it’s not exactly good content, and it’s definitely bad for children to watch and think that it’s normal for grown men to act like that.
Your math is completely off. Assuming it takes 20 hours to record, and 40 hours to edit, and you don't edit it yourself, you could upload 1 video every 2 business days assuming 10 hour days. That's 2.5 videos per week. They certainly fake their videos however assuming it's a full time job, it's not impossible to get the release schedules they do.
I respect Jerome a lot, but when I saw the obvious fake 100 days, I really didn’t know what to do. The videos are still entertaining, IF you don’t expect 100 days video. Even though there was a massive view drop for him, his Chanel won’t die because of ‘Stream Chat Interactive Gameplay’. People will donate money to see something stupid funny happen. Also NONE of his other vids are fake, not the gta ones, not the Roblox ones, not even the Minecraft ones, it’s just the 100 days videos that he fakes.

Some trends are good. I like 100 days, peeferablly not the mod ones. Their are ppl who do fake them, yes, they get called out and such. Yet, is NO ONE going to notice the insane "100 players simulate civilization in minecraft", i watched the first video soon after it came out by magicgum and then I started seeing "100 players simulate civilization in a random place that makes no sense". I know that it DOESNT have to make sense but what is the point of "100 players simulate civilization in a house" or something, its creative but.. like what? I know the average person probably forgot most of their history knowledge after high school... but some of those videos are so out of context and even though their target audience is children, more adult watch it because a lot are still liking minecraft so that causes some of it. I do agree that some videos may have a few minutes less, a few days skipped and such, but in general, I think that I just want to see something fun into watch.
Also, a second thing, what if you play multiple worlds at the same time? If you play on one world for a week and then the next week you play on two worlds and suddenly you only need a few hours a week on each world to have a new video out every week or so.
I think there is the possibility that some consistent uploaders might just be using that strategy or a similar one.
You could, theoretically, play Minecraft at max 10 hours per week and still upload every week if you just stack gameplay, which I don't see anyone mentioning when this topic is brought up.
We simpl don't know exactly how the time is being spent while playing, but some TH-camrs will mention that they weren't filming when something happened, so that's also a factor, definitely

You might not know many people who could play ten hours straight, but let me tell you, I used to play 10 hours straight per day, for fun. I know so many people who still do from my time playing on servers, it’s not as uncommon as you would think

All the fans who bothered to stick with Jerome since before he was even a Minecraft TH-camr (he did Call of Duty videos with BajanCanadian and Nooch on a separate channel from 2008 until 2012, before rising to fame in SkyDoesMinecraft’s “Team Crafted”) should know that, and probably they do know that.
Jerome’s not a bad guy though. He just has to adjust to the new trends to survive. Look at BajanCanadian, his best friend. Deemed irrelevant when he tried a brand refresh back in 2021. Nooch? Went down the pipes when trying to quit Minecraft in 2015. SkyDoesMinecraft? He was cancelled for being an uncharged felon.
Jerome doesn’t want to go the same path as his old friends. So let him do what he wants. That’s all.

Don't get me wrong, I know half of the channels I watch fake their videos, half of them don't even do it that well for that matter. But I still can't deny I love watching them despite how fake they are. I think it comes down to the fact that back when I started I wasn't really able to catch on, so I just like watching stuff I used to think was real.

You guys seem forget that not only does Jerome upload to 3 channels daily, but he also streams regularly, he also has a pretty sizable backlog of videos, and records his videos weeks/months ahead
I use to watch Team Crafted back then, was a huge fan of them. But over time things change and so do we. After their fall out a lot of them have changed (And not for the best) But sadly enough Jerome was mostly in it for the money and views it seems like and when that group fell he had to come up with something and well action have consequences

I disagree in a way. I think Jerome did this, not to gain views and money, but to keep his viewers by jumping into trends that he thought would entertain his fans. While he did this trend terribly wrong and cheated in it, there are a couple things we have to recognize. 1. He has to work around the schedules of his friends because it is a lot more difficult to make content with other people and their personal lives. 2. He has to find new ideas for his content so he isn't just doing the same thing all the time. Views are apart of it, but I don't believe that is the focus for his career.

His fans have nothing to do with it or he would have done content that entertained his fans even if he dropped views, instead he trend hopped and marketed to young children which is more or less selling out in content creation imo. Like look how he used to act, he catered towards younger audiences but more like in the young teen area, and instead of maturing with that fanbase he went lower in age targeting for money. @@Rob526 I wouldn't add Lachlan in that mix personally. There are times were he drops a cuss. He will just edit it with some sound effect. But a huge reason for that is because of TH-cam's restrictions that could legitimately get them banned from TH-cam. Even Jacksepticeye doesn't cuss nearly as much as he would use to. Unfortunately, TH-cam sucks because it doesn't allow creators to have real personalities without banning them from making content.
@@taylorrobertson262 This was my point. Due to the rules around monetization if you wanna make bank, it's better to market exclusively to children. Thing is people like Lachlan are rich enough they don't have to keep milking more money, they can live extremely comfortably just with a bit less money but they do it. Which is fine, but it shows they aren't prioritizing fans, or at least not in anyway asides from amassing them and monetizing them. There is also a difference between marketing to exclusively children and cursing. Lachlan may not be in that group, I assumed he was since he instantly jumped ship to fortnite and has been mass producing clickbait for years which was essentially the new trend that children liked replacing minecraft. For example I don't know if i've ever seen dunkey curse, but he is not marketing mainly towards children. Same with a bunch of content creators. Personally I think if you have a fanbase you have a connection with you would be willing to fall in relevance to make good content for them, and or adjust with them. Not jumping to any trend to get as many children clickbaited by the 50th 100 day mcdonalds minecraft (hardcore) challenge. I hold no real issues with people that do this, but i don't think it's accurate to try and make someone like Jerome some guy who is doing his best to entertain his audience when it's more accurate to say he's trying to monetize dishonest clickbaiting via the younger generation. For the record I love Jerome as well as lachlan and still rewatch some of there old content. Ssundee is the most egregious of these types of people. I feel blessed that Bajan never did it to a high extent and ended up pulling away from content creation so I didn't have to watch a fraction of my childhood morph into some clickbait farm like preston did.

To be fair, 100 days is not the focus of Jerome's channel. He does it a decent amount, sure, but he also has to work on many other videos. As a fan of Jerome's channel, I like to avoid the 100 day challenge videos because even I recognize it's scripted and fake content. But everything else on Jerome's channel is great in my opinion.

Like I could've, somewhat understood the 100 days trend in minecraft because they had these two objectives:
1. Survive until 100 days (piss easy, even in modded minecraft if you have a wheat farm you are surviving easy unless modded to make it harder)
2. Do an elaborate construction stuff before 100 Days arrive (which is the interesting part and what makes the surviving part actually interesting because they are putting themselves at risk)
but at this point this 100 Day trend is just another name for a let's play that's heavilly summerized, instead of saying "Welcome to episode one of Hardcore minecraft" it's "So from day 1 to 3 I built the cock and ball machine to to CBT to the Villagers and get their loots at a discount"
You can't say ryguyrocky is trying to establish himself in the minecraft community he has been around for so long and he has a team who makes it and more then one editor they put them out more often because they changed it up now how they make it but
I will honestly never understand why these TH-camrs fake the 100 days videos. You could still daily upload and just do videos like "100 Days In Minecraft (Days 1-25)" or something like that. People wouldn't get upset over faked content, and any one could just turn 100 days videos into a mini series, and get MORE content out of 1 playthrough

100 days in a week is fully possible, it would be stressful but its very possible, people like forge's lab edit their video while recording it which helps cut down on editing time and there people like acookiegod who play mc for 10+ hours a day for non 100 days video while its good to call out people who fake video's it feels wrong to the people who work all day so they can get video out weekly/ bi weekly

As a coward who sleeps every night unless I have a good reason not to, I'd estimate that it takes me like maybe 20 hours to get through 100 days of Minecraft. Still a lot of gameplay time, time spent making notes, editing, doing commentary, making a thumbnail, etc. I could see a legit video a week being realistic if you no-lifed it, but yeah, anything past that is pushing it. And it's frankly human nature to take shortcuts. I'm sure deaths are a big thing along with purely fabricated vids. A lot of hardcore MC TH-camrs do the bosses toward the end, so imagine if you died on the Wither on day 90 lol. You'd probably open to LAN with cheats enabled and save your world - especially if you're a professional TH-camr and the next video is your next paycheck.

Your math is completely off. Assuming it takes 20 hours to record, and 40 hours to edit, and you don't edit it yourself, you could upload 1 video every 2 business days assuming 10 hour days. That's 2.5 videos per week. They certainly fake their videos however assuming it's a full time job, it's not impossible to get the release schedules they do.
I respect Jerome a lot, but when I saw the obvious fake 100 days, I really didn’t know what to do. The videos are still entertaining, IF you don’t expect 100 days video. Even though there was a massive view drop for him, his Chanel won’t die because of ‘Stream Chat Interactive Gameplay’. People will donate money to see something stupid funny happen. Some trends are good. I like 100 days, peeferablly not the mod ones. Their are ppl who do fake them, yes, they get called out and such. Yet, is NO ONE going to notice the insane "100 players simulate civilization in minecraft", i watched the first video soon after it came out by magicgum and then I started seeing "100 players simulate civilization in a random place that makes no sense". I know that it DOESNT have to make sense but what is the point of "100 players simulate civilization in a house" or something, its creative but.. like what? I know the average person probably forgot most of their history knowledge after high school... but some of those videos are so out of context and even though their target audience is children, more adult watch it because a lot are still liking minecraft so that causes some of it. But thats just my thought on that

youtubers lie for clout and money like that never happened before
A factor you forgot is how long is takes to voice over your videos.

He used to be a big minecraft roleplay youtuber, that switched to 100 days content
He actually stole the omnitrix model from my friend for the ben 10 100 days, and after talking with them about it for a while and providing evidence I was eventually ghosted :/
Many Minecraft creators were outed as creeps which caused Minecraft to fade into obscurity. Then Dream brought it back... And then he was outed as a creep too. This is why we can't have nice things.
I guess giving credit to dream for bringing back relevancy isn't correct there are other major factors like PewDiePie playing the game and good updates in the game.
