This isn't a colony builder... It's a min-max puzzle game.
This statements screams D&D to me and I LOVE IT.
I was gonna say, the mechanics dont really have anything to do with building a factory, its definitely more puzzle-like than anything

@@clickthecreeper9463 tbh its a real intresting puzzle game it has a factory esk bits to it yes but it is still a puzzle to the end but compared to other puzzle games this is VARY out of left in terms of how it tries to go about it.

I've always disliked that quote because it does a grave disservice to what magic SHOULD be. A better version: "If your magic system isn't somewhat unpredictable, untamable and scary, you might as well be writing sci-fi."

The bases system is already pretty cool so with terraforming thrown in the mix I can see a lot of fun challenges and goofy builds coming up, neat.
I will admit that I was screaming at the screen during the combat section. "SPLAT UNITS GAIN BUFFS FROM BEING ADJACENT TO EACHOTHER WHYYYYYYYYY"

Agree, several times I was like "oh that's just SplatterCat making some extra jokes about the tutorial text" and then look over to discover nope, he's literally reading off the tutorial pop-up text.

I've played... A lot of Factorio and this feels like the logistics aspect of that game distilled. Delicious.
Combat looks like a tacked on puzzle game though. Needs rework to be integrated into the main gameplay loop.

The movement is surprising actually, cause normally hexagon based maps are like a hop based movement system.
What I want is a game like Stardew Valley, Dinkum, Animal Crossing, ect but focused on sustainability. I don't want to look at my lot when I am done and see Factorio, I want to see something like a micro farm.
Harvest moon was a lot like that. I'm actually really excited for harvestella. It looks like a combination of dark shadow (moon) I can't remember the name, and harvest moon.

low-consequence, paradisical-superabundance sandbox games like this are really great for teaching basic fundamentals . this is a title that should be presented to school-children .

1:42 Shovel duty is, of course, a derogatory term for the Imperial Administration for Terraforming. You were of course a high-ranking officer, but there's some antagonism between the Terraforming administration and the Expeditionary Administration. Plus, Patrick's a condescending ass.

Why can't we just nuke Russia and China or send someone like Agent 47 or Jason Bourne? No country likes them and we would be doing the world the biggest favor! We have nuclear missiles and we would win this war in five minutes without sending any ground, sea, and air troops. We can then make Russia and China a 51st and 52nd state or make them our territories and benefit from their natural resources like Adamantium. The Russian and Chinese people would be evacuated first to Poland, Germany, England, Finland, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, etc. or even we can take the refugees into our country until we can help them get situated to their new life.
If only we could have this channel, but without the commentary from splattercat. So awful
