If you haul your machine in, I get it that you get a plow you can haul. But these guys running a smaller plow thinking they are doing something by running up someone's back side.........
This is a great vid and thanks for posting. There is something I have always wondered about. Some of the tractors have duals on the left side with the furrow wheel a single. By doing this, is there any possibility of doing damage internally to the drive line over a period of time? As far as I know, plowing would be the only time you would do this.
50-60 years ago a plowing dual was very common. This extra tire helped give traction during plowing. As the single furrow wheel went along if the tractor found a wet spot the on land dual would bite in and give the extra pull. I don’t think it hurt a tractor one bit. A farm I grew up watching had a ‘76 IH 1066 that ran a plowing dual in the spring pulling a five bottom plow. Then it had a full set of duals for disking. When planting was done then hay season started and the left dual cane of again for the tractor to run the chopper. The right side dual was still on. 44 years later the 1066 is still going strong on the same farm.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks for your reply. It sounds like then, maybe in some cases, that for plowing instead of the right dual coming off, the left dual was added for, as you say, extra traction for the on land wheel because the furrow wheel is gong to get a better grip anyway.

At 5.35 the Oliver 1650 looks like OLF 's old tractor, same front wheels that was on when he sold it.

they actually recommend guys bring a smaller plow than they use at home, Rantoul is known for hard plowing

Do the farmer's plow much anymore or do they use the tile more now?
Some regions still plow but it is mainly in vegetable areas.
Are all these old Farmers deaf!? Why would you put a straight pipe on a tractor?

That IH has a muffler under the hood. The pipe above the hood is the exhaust pipe.
