There is a video done by a channel called AsianBoss, who interviewed one of the last remaining ninja: th-cam.com/video/W82754Zhx3Q/w-d-xo.html He talks about the Kunai at around 7:20 As far as he has said, the Kunai was mainly a small gardening/farming tool used for digging holes. But also, when used by the ninja it could be used to climb mountainsides or loose rock walls by sticking the blades between crevices and using them like steps, or also throwing with/without the rope.

the rope dart, Shéng Biāo in chinese, or Jōhyō in japanese, is an awesome weapon, commonly used for shows, where it's more like a meteor hammer (blunt object tied to a rope, in the case of the shows, it's usually something lit on fire). the good thing is that you don't even need to have your kunai sharp to make it effective. my entirely homemade one is nearly blunt, only the tip could cut. I've experienced it 2 times on my guiding hand :D
I have a set of Expendables Kunai in my collection of throwers, except I never throw them because I am afraid they will bend or break. Good as movie collectible and nothing else.
Aaaaaaaaaarh......! Another Adam footage where we miss out on all the fun... Love the kanji. (only if i could write it)😪 Tnx Adam, once again, another great vid with great accuracy...
I actually study and practice Kuni rope dart I love it but my tool is mostly a performance tool I would love to find a traditional Kuni for my dart head and love to see more practical applications of the rope dart on your channel good work and nice skills ☺️👌
That was a brilliant video master Jacubb technique is so different don't seam alot going into it but the power is thare those blades were going in deep. But some good to see Adam really letting loose flying, spinning and still on target!
Hi Adam! Really enjoy your videos! I've been practicing N0-Spin for about two months now. Even though I'm getting good groups, I'm throwing high. Any advice to correct this problem would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Sincerely, John
Sick of the market selection, I intend to make my own historical inspired kunai. I'm going to cut it from a 3/16" thick piece of 1018 plate steel, 18" long, 3-3.5" wide, the front blade portion about 11" long, with a 1.5" wide round flat pommel with a 3/8-1/2" hole in the center, and the handle portion wrapped in a couple layers of twine to give it some cushioning. All edges beveled and rounded, the surface unpolished.
Most what is known as ninja weapons were originally some sort of farming that's where ninjas originated farmers who were tired of the corrupted so they used what they had and used it how they could to take them down. Which honestly in my opinion is the coolest thing ever and should be talked about more in schools than most things to tech to stand up for yourself and never let yourself or others be oppressed.

This was really beautiful living martial arts practice!
Very intersting, but as a beginner I will start with normal throwing knifes that Adam shows in lot of episodes. Keep up great videos!
JACUB a gentle soul with a sting thanks for the vid takes my mind off
Hilarious!!! You guys should do a video with Master Ken!!
I have a set of Expendables Kunai in my collection of throwers, except I never throw them because I am afraid they will bend or break. Good as movie collectible and nothing else.
Same! I have some martial arts weapon too, but not for using, cause it causes damage and I'm too lazy to make it sharp again.
Another entertaining and inspiring video guys big respect 🙂🙏
Thank You very much, Adam. Strong and beautiful video!🙏🙏🙏
Awesome video, guys!
Hello every one, so exited for this video!!!

Super epizóda.. Majster Jakub 👌
"Flow Mayhem" is the queen of rope dart.
Kunai was first use as a digging tool for farmers, but was eventually adopted by ninjas
Uh…ok! Let me write that down.
Gardening trowel. Weaponized.
Yessss!!!!

Kunai was a gardening tool but it was used as a weapon becuase its what they had to use
Yes ... Necessity is the mother of
Jakub has great skill those kunai are awesome
Both you catz are bad ass!
The real Kunai looks so much better than movie version - usually its the other way around :D :D
Yea also looks more usable and stronger
In ancient Japan, those throwing iron is expensive. Prefer fight with katana.
...Hence the rope. :-D
You think the yari? The katana is a expensive and not reliable. Its edge like a glass. And fu#&ng short stuff....
Yea rope is cheap and if you are mentally fast enough you can trash several people
Awesome! Does mild tension on the rope dart keep it from spinning or are you throwing it the same as “no spin “ technique? Or maybe a bit of both?
The drag stops the spin the holder controls rope tension for flight control
The master did under hand and over handed rope throw ... Rob just did over because that is what he does most the time.
