Is this after your swing lesson video or before? What a great-looking course though. We must remember to enjoy the beautiful nature that is always an important part of golf! Keep the videos coming!
Always like watching your videos, honest golf...I'm a 10 handicap and have been on a quest to improve over the past two years and I'm really pleased with my swing now, just need to improve my course management. Throughout your first 9 holes you ended up on your back foot on sooo many shots, especially your driver. I watched your teaching video at GRF and I really can't sign-up to the method, that's all I could see with all the "popping" is a ton of head movement, I think that's all you need to do is end up with your weight on your left foot and you'll end up back in the groove.
I agree, ive just got back to 12 at age 62, but im always on my front foot, having said that I sometimes spray the ball if the timing is out, we have good and bad games, but the fundamentals have to be there
Thanks chaps. Getting my weight over to my left is something I've struggled with for a while. Comes from trying to hit at the ball with my arms rather than swing I think. Appreciate the feedback though 👍
I've watched most your vids from handicap 25 down to the present 12 odd. I watched a few mins of this before heading to the course today (NZ so it's early summer now) and had a dreadful round on a challenging course I'd not played on. Was hoping to break 90 but 98 was the best I could manage. It was actually nice to come home and watch your front 9 knowing that these days happen quite often in golf, especially to us mid-high handicap players. Just gotta forge on and look forward to the next round!
Thanks dude! No it's dead easy. Get yourself a decent travel bag and you're sorted 👍 I wrap some clothes around my clubs and take the head off my driver before I pack them up
Great to see you back with another course outing. Shame front 9 wasn’t ‘it’ 😂. Putting is so key to score though. I hit an 84 with maybe 2 good tee shots but short game was great - then shot 95 2 weeks later with 5 GIRs in a row but lots of 3 putts along with one 5 from the tee 😂 but summer is here now so just waiting for a round when both aspects come together 😆 best of luck on the next one
You're so right Jack! I've had rounds like both you described there. What's strange is when you're missing fairways constantly it feels like you're playing badly but like you say, the short game is what leads you to the better scores. Enjoy the summer!
Thanks Matt, driver definitely getting better. At the detriment of the putter it seems 😂 I don't really get on with woods mate. That's why I have the 2 iron
Hey! I ended up signing up for one of the road to the Belfrey qualifiers after watching your videos on it last year and it was amazing! Just signed up to the North West one this time around, are you planning on going again? 😊
Luke mate, your hips is working well now after married hahaha. Lots of improvement there, you're more using hip rotation now. Nice! New character unlocked, Hi Mrs Bex Pearson, im zul.😀
The sobering truth is that good scoring golf looks everything but awesome! To play +9 on a course would be a lovely score for 90% of all golfers. And when you are a high handicap player you imagine that you have to player something like Tiger Woods golf to get there. But the truth is that you only have to care for not playing out of bounce and 2 putts on a green to get there very close. My best rounds have been incredible boring golf. No chip in, no hole in one, no 290 yard drives. just straight golf, a few GIRs and 2 putts on the green. Thats amateur golf. Don’t compare to players on TV. Thats another planet of golf. No one needs that to be happy…😊
Decent weather Luke...you do know its been snowing here in Yorkshire don't you 😢 Well that was a little unlike you, normally your putting is very sound 👍
@@UpDownGolf It happens Luke...those greens are night and day to what we're playing on at the moment, even on our greens which are still pretty rapid even though we've raised the cut a couple of mm 🤪
I haven't. But a few people have said the same now. I can't say I've noticed it feels bad when comparing against other putters I've used. It's an Odyssey Toulon Austin
Come on dude you don’t try to pitch one close on shot like the one on #9..you go for the back of the green and make sure not to come up short…like you did. You normally play smarter than that.

Actually a pretty good recovery on the back 9 Luke, well done. Thanks too to camera lady, I hope she realised what she was letting herself in for!
Cheers Dave. I recomposed myself on the back nine I think 😂 Hope you're well mate!

Really enjoyed this, man. What a cool course. I love the contrast between the playable areas and the waste.
Thanks for watching man!
Dropping green side when the ball never crossed the hazard 😂
The ball had got caught up in the weeds and we obviously film these videos during normal pace of play. So we have to be mindful of others

Exactly that Stephen 👍 It makes the times you do play well even better
What a course!!! Looks like Golf on the moon.
Thanks for this journey.
All the best.
Steffen
Thanks for watching Stefan!
Glad to see a new video.
Thanks Rob!
Hole 4 must be your signature hole, it's called the Up & Down hole 🤣🤣
Haha I know! 😂
After that front nine you did great to keep you’re head and put together a good back nine 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks T 👍
Well played, Luke, and great recovery! 😎😎
Thanks dude! Appreciate it
Tee shot starting the into is 🔥
Great view isn't it!
Great vids luv em. How easy to get ya clubs over there when playing abroad any thing I should know b4 I go to Portugal thanks
Thanks dude! No it's dead easy. Get yourself a decent travel bag and you're sorted 👍 I wrap some clothes around my clubs and take the head off my driver before I pack them up
I’m working on my confidence with shots around the green. I want to be dialled in from inside 50 yards to guarantee bogey or better on every hole.
Good idea 👍 Easier said than done though I think

Loving the consistent shot shape with the driver Luke.
Have you tried a 7 wood? Far easier to hit than a two iron and goes similar distance
A 7 wood is compared to a 4 iron
Thanks Matt, driver definitely getting better. At the detriment of the putter it seems 😂 I don't really get on with woods mate. That's why I have the 2 iron
Just what I needed to get me through work on a miserable monday!
Do you use an app to show the hole and ball location? 👍👍
Thanks for watching Liam! No I make it all from scratch 👍
@@UpDownGolf The video editing isn't enough so you manually create a hole overview with a ball tracer 😀 awesome work mate 👍
How do you feel your game improved after the lesson with @GRF Golf?
That’s what I was going to ask, looks like he’s hitting longer and straighter?? 😊
I haven't managed to do much practice at all yet tbh. But I have found my distance has gone up a bit already 👍
Nice course😀. With a better short game next time You are back in business 👍
Thanks dude! 🤙
Another great looking course. Not your best but still plenty of pars.
Cheers Mark 👍
Hey! I ended up signing up for one of the road to the Belfrey qualifiers after watching your videos on it last year and it was amazing! Just signed up to the North West one this time around, are you planning on going again? 😊
That's awesome David! I'm not sure yet, we really enjoyed it so it's a possibility 👍
@@UpDownGolf I'll keep my fingers crossed 👍
What were you doing dropping on the other side of the cart path ?
Discussed it with the people I was playing with and that's where we thought to drop
@UpDownGolf why?
So been staying at Salobre for ten days. Did you film two days ago ? Wa watching some camera people from the bar behind the 15th on the old course
No we were there a couple of week ago 👍
will be going back for sure - amazing place - we stayed on site and had 4 rounds so quite something@@UpDownGolf
Luke mate, your hips is working well now after married hahaha. Lots of improvement there, you're more using hip rotation now. Nice! New character unlocked, Hi Mrs Bex Pearson, im zul.😀
😂😂 I'm working on it Zul! Appreciate you noticing mate 🤙
This course is beautiful. Why do you live in Spain
I don't Scott. I live in the UK
What putter are you using sounds awful but good to see you back
I'm using an Odyssey Toulon Austin Phil. I promise it's a decent putter haha
PPS to covert metres to yards simply add 10% 👍
Good to know!
60 yards, im gonna open the face , and clear this tree… Hits the tree… 😂😂😂Doylum..👍👍
Haha not my finest moment 😂

Totally agree! I've shot under 80 3 times I think and like you say, in the main it was just steady golf 👍
12 handicap golf looks just like 20 handicap golf w a few great shots strung togerher to make some bird Nd pars.
Usually the difference is less blow up holes, not so much in this video but that’s golf for you!
Pretty much true tbh. This was one of my poorer rounds. As Sam said though, that's golf! You don't shoot your best scores every time
@@UpDownGolf: You’ve been doing great mate!…
Breakthrough… you have obviously never played golf in your life…
PS you can't take a drop on the 14th nearer the hole 🤔
It wasn't actually closer to the hole. The people I were playing with agreed
Yellow stake - you should have gone back to the other side (actually I’m talking about hole 9 par 5)
@@jojokit7254 True, should have replayed from the original position.
Decent weather Luke...you do know its been snowing here in Yorkshire don't you 😢
Well that was a little unlike you, normally your putting is very sound 👍
Ahh it was a shock coming home let me tell you 😂 I know, just couldn't get to grips with the greens at all
@@UpDownGolf It happens Luke...those greens are night and day to what we're playing on at the moment, even on our greens which are still pretty rapid even though we've raised the cut a couple of mm 🤪
mate it happens, not all games are perfect, I play like a 8 or a 36 depending on the day, course, conditions, keep going you are doing well
Thanks Paul, appreciate it mate! Just one of those days
You just have to work a little bit more on your wedge game other than that you have a pretty solid game
Yeah that and putting for surrreee
text says double bogey on the 9th, it's a quad, though the score is correct. just pointing out.
Couldn't bring myself to write quad probably 😂
add 10% onto Metre to get Yard . . . ergo 377 Metres is about 414 Yards
Cheers Rob!
@@UpDownGolf as if you didn't know my young friend ! Lol
Just another 18 hole practice round for next time. Besides, there were some brilliant tee-offs to remember.
Thanks Richard! That's what i took away from it too 👍
Your putter sounds a bit funky. I think you should consider replacing it.
I think it might have been the audio effects I added. There was a humming in the background caused my the new mics I used. Good to know though 👍
Don’t like the sound of that putter Luke….!
A few people have said that John
You’re kidding. I just finished the new course 30 minutes ago
I hope you faired better than me!
I’ve mentioned this before, but your putter sounds like an empty can of beans, it’s awful. Not sure if you’ve ever had it looked at?
I haven't. But a few people have said the same now. I can't say I've noticed it feels bad when comparing against other putters I've used. It's an Odyssey Toulon Austin
You’re only allowed two three putts per round. Luke you’ve done used yours up on the first two holes…
Awful performance with the putter T
You seemed like you were rushing your shots a bit
You think so? Something was definitely off with my short game
Putting hmmm
Putting baaaddddddd
Come on dude you don’t try to pitch one close on shot like the one on #9..you go for the back of the green and make sure not to come up short…like you did. You normally play smarter than that.
Getting greedy in the wrong spot there wasn’t he.
Confidence started to go on that front 9 I think T. And with it my concentration. Poor shot choice
A 12 Handicap playing a 2 iron and a 5 handicap er bandit?? You need to get your handicap checked
Sorry, that first part doesn't make sense?
Man you can ruin a set of clubs on this course….Yikes !!!
Yeah some of the rough areas are tough!
how's married life?
Strangely the same Chris 😂
