- Trying to install an Android app in another country and getting the dreaded "this item isn't available in your country" error message? Us too!
We're visiting Australia from the US, and we wanted to install apps from this country on our Android phones while we're here, but we were stuck in the American Google Play store.
We found 3 ways to fix this error WITHOUT a credit card (using a clever workaround). The first two fixes show you how to change Google Play store country, and the third fix doesn't require the Google Play store at all!

NOTE: We were able to do this without a VPN because we did not need to obtain an IP address in the foreign country (we were already IN Australia). If you're trying to install foreign Android apps from your home country, you may need to use a VPN to obtain an IP address in that country before you start.

It is so elegantly simple and quick just to create a secondary Google identity in your new country, which you don't need to use at all once you have downloaded the apps you need. Hi, I´ve just reset my mobile that I have bought in my previous country of residence, but reset it while I was already in the new country. but still keeps the old country by default and doesn't allow me to change it.
Any Idea. I do not want a temporary solution, but a permanent one.
Assuming this is an Android phone, try solution number 2 in our blog post (the section titled "Change Country in Google Play Store Settings"). This is a permanent change.

Important note for anyone seeing this: I'm almost certain you don't have to go through all the effort to buy a Visa giftcard as a payment method, you can just click "Skip" in the bottom left corner. Works in my country, I'm assuming it should work in any country

This is a hassle. It's ridiculous Google limits countries where you can install an app. Anybody know the reason? I can't even get some apps in the same country I am in, because Google Play is messed up and programmed badly. This whole thing sounds more like a bug. The solution is to install the apk of the desired separately.
The APK option is discussed in our blog post, linked in the video description. It has some drawbacks you can read about there.
@@TripOfALifestyle Google Play now even blocks some apps installed via the apk option, saying it's unsafe and to use Google Play for installation.
