  • Are you coming to belgium? Better be prepared rather than shocked and know these challenges of living in Europe! This video is for Indians in Belgium who just arrived or who are planning to come here for work, study or as a dependent.
The western European culture is very different from Indian culture, so if you have never visited and never lived in these countries be prepared to face these challenges. I will share some very common questions often posed by the Indian community when they are about to come to Belgium. I try to answer these questions in a fun way - as simply as possible based on my experience of living in Belgium through 2018-2022.
Here are some very interesting websites you may want to visit(I mentioned these in my video as well):
    1. For house hunting: Immo Web
    www.immoweb.be/en
    2. For buying electronics like TV, speakers, washing machine, etc. and get next day delivery at your door step:
    www.coolblue.be/en
    3. Bol - similar to amazon
    www.bol.com/nl/nl/
    Chapters:
    00:00 Welcome to the start
00:38 How is Weather in Belgium?
01:39 Is it easy to be a vegetarian in Belgium?
03:10 Is English alone sufficient to manage basic activities?
06:19 Is it easy to get schools for kids?
06:55 Will I find an apartment to stay easily?
09:05 What are the special un-said social rules I must know after moving to an apartment?
10:46 Can I furnish an apartment on my own easily?
13:06 How is work culture different from that of India?
14:24 Will I find domestic help in Belgium just like in India?
16:15 Is Indian Grocery available? How are the prices?
17:05 How much salary is enough for me?
    18:09 Final Thoughts?
    18:40 Attention!!!

Nice video again Mansee, In brussels the most part of poeple speak French, (Historic matter) in the Flanders part of Belgium more poeple speak English, the French part of Belgium speak only French, in school we learn French and English here in Flanders,. This is why you won't find a lot of English speaking poeple in BXL (just to inform you). We don't like a lot of noise indeed, a specialy not in the appartements. Brussels is a beautyfull city, keep up teh nice work, greetings Eric from Belgium

    1/ Vegetarian
Depends on where you are but in the major cities their will be not only vegan options but also vegetarian options. Not only a few dishes on the menu but actual restaurants that are purely that way.
    2/ English.
When dealing with officials it is most beneficial to be able to do it in the language that is used in that part of the country. Having said that, the majority of doctors, shopkeepers, police as well as others speak English in at least the Flanders part.

As per my knowledge you can Drive in Belgium for one year from date of you arrival, but after a year it is necessary to take the licence.
    Just a small addition.

    • @bonjourmansee
      @bonjourmansee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

hey Advait, for Indians(& non-EU countries) its 185 days(so roughly 6 months) from the date of inscription in Belgium-that people can drive based on their country's DL.But I guess you will agree with me that the driving culture is very different in Belgium vs India, and its always beneficial to take driving lessons (theory and practical ) for everyone's safety. Thanks for adding this imp topic! ;-)
