Let me explain precisely about LAH meanings & contexts :
Standard formal writing context :
• ‘Lah’ is a suffix (additional syllable at the end of a word) to emphasise a word in a sentence. [example: Dia bukanlah seorang pekerja].
LAH in informal conversation carries different types of emotions (depends on delivered intonations):
• elongated & deeper ‘Laaaaa..’ indicates frustration & disappointment [example: Tidak mengapa laaaa/ It’s okayy….].
• elongated & wavy ‘LaaAaAaa~’ always used to beg something just like ‘pleaseeEeeEe’ [example: Tak mahu laaAaaAa i don’t want].
• Short & sharp ‘Lah!’ most times indicate annoyed & irritated emotions [example: Tak usah lah!].
• Loud & exhale from throat ‘LAAHHH!’ showcase anger emotion [example: Kau ni LAAHHH!!].
• Short & simple ‘Lah’ in a response/explanation referring to “Yeah, just like that/that’s it” [Example: …usually, after that I will eat lah].

Kan (Malay) = Kana(Japanese)

Not really..
"Kana" is more like a question or hesitation or uncertainty about something or a subject.
"Kan" is more flexible as it operates sometimes as an amplifier of a question. Or when u want support (from the listener) for you statement. Kan will be used similar to the word "right?" at the end of a sentence.

@@ridzz kan, kan. kana, kana. use at the end of the sentence with the same intent still would be the same meaning. you can try it. yes, kan is more flexible but still kana is the part of the meaning of kan. As you imply.
