My first time here on your channel and I enjoy the way you are 100 percent ahead on discussion your briefing on everything and the PC -12 is my favorite single engine aircraft.
Up in the more remote Northern territory of Canada we have lots of airports with no radar coverage, and sometimes no cell phone coverage either. You have to use an old school landline to cancel IFR, or you can cancel IFR in the air (especially if you know the controler is laddering the traffic behind you and waiting for you to report leaving an altitude... But canceling IFR in the air comes with its own set of risks flying VFR into remote areas where there is no radar or comms till you are on the ground. That was a great video. I learned something new about "Happy Thursday". 😊
I fly into a lot of airports like that as well and it gets tricky when there is not cell service! Do you normally try to cancel in the air for those? Tough when it’s hard IFR though
Thanks for the video, have to say it was much better without the captions and the volume/music was all good 😊👍 looking forward to seeing more of what you do! Happy Thursday!
Thank you so much for the feedback!! My “producer” (aka my husband who edits my videos for me) says he really appreciates that info! We really enjoy giving back to aviation in this way. Happy Thursday!
Yea…. Thanks for removing the captions, hard to watch/listen to the video with them on as they were so big, colorful and distracting. Much, much, much better!!!!
Loved the video - I fly around Washington DC and talk about busy airspace, not to mention the DC SFRA, POTUS TFRs. I will often fly to the coast just to have breakfast Ocean Front and I always pickup Flight Following (ATC) to keep an eye on me. Maybe suggest a GoPro suctioned on the windshield side to include some views of landing, taking off, etc.
Girl!! You are living my dream. So jealous but happy for you. Life took me in a totally opposite direction and I have a daughter that is living her dream. Great job you
This is terrific… +1 subscription from me ✅. I have two daughters and they have been a reluctant about flight training, despite my encouragement that the field is not impossibly male-dominated, with no opportunities for women… thankfully this is not 1970 🙌. I’ll share this video, and all of your content with them, and hope they will take it to heart and let CFI Dad (me) or someone instruct them, to get their certs and ratings…. and then they can learn and pass on the “Happy….” day or the week greeting, and be get out there as strong women professional pilots. Great content, keep it up. 👊
@@pilotkaity thanks! and side note here, a friend of mine Erica Gilbert, CFII, is doing excellent women-in-aviation content work, specifically about weather, hope y’all can connect.
You know I’m not really sure honestly. I would think it was nice but I can’t speak for anyone else. I say go for it because you can’t go wrong being nice and supportive
That was a lot. Hearing two things at once is so hard. Thanks for the happy Thursday lesson. Is it weird if a male says that to a female to acknowledge the same intent? Or should us guys stay out of that habit?
You know I’m not really sure how that would go. I think it’s generally just a nice thing to say. I would think it was nice but I’m not sure if some other women would feel like it’s not the same. I guess being nice is never a bad idea
I saw the city name of Williston and thats where I live near the Williston Fl Airport. there is a Turbo Prop that I see over my home was hopeful it was your plane but your in ND and not Florida
That’s dealing with a different thing. Part 91 is the type of faa rules. Being a contractor dealings more with how the company employs you. I’m part 91 but a salaried employee
Maybe this question has already been asked before, What is the official FAA Approved procedure when either the pilot or passengers have to use the facilities since there aren’t any facilities onboard?
how crazy you have to relay that over cell phone or to the other airplane.. she's already on the ground, you'd think they would have just cancelled her automatically. Or you think they'd use a different technology to not have that type of problem. Amazing after all these years the radios are still so full of static in the communications, amazing we even need centralized controllers, would be nice to think up something better, not even need to have anyone on the ground.
I hate talking on the radio. Always afraid I’m going to miss something or say something wrong. Women have been important in aviation for a long time. I’m part of a B25 Squadron and we have mainly women pilots. It’s always funny at the Airshows when I tell people we have women pilots. They are like , Women fly these !? I tell them, hell , women built them, test flew them and flew the to the war fronts .
Close to six years . I’m a Rancher and own a C170 that I fly back in forth to one of my places. I’ve been considering getting my CFI but life gets in my way.
Dream plane for many pilots❤.....Oh and a dream girl to go with it . WOW❤❤❤
My husband tells me that everyday 😍
@@pilotkaity>>> He better...😉
My favorite aircraft.
It’s nice ain’t it

Thank you! It’s a great airplane. Do you fly it now or previously?

You were very calm with all that radio traffic.
Haha thanks. I used to be field artillery in the army so the radios in aviation were a pretty easy transition for me
@@pilotkaity That explains it then.

Had no idea about the “Happy (day of the week)” thing. That’s very cool!
Right! I think it’s kinda of a cool aviation thing

So much better! Congratulations. 👍

Thank you so much!! What does your daughter do?
Hi. Great job multitasking. Would you be able to show more instruments at cruise?
I’m going to probably buy another camera to mount in the future
Love the happy Thursday thing
Me too 😭I think it’s so cute
The radio relay is crazy 🤪 Good Day 👍🇺🇲
It got kinda hectic there haha

That’s awesome! There are a couple organizations that bring women pilots together such as Women in Aviation and The 99s that might be helpful as well.

Informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Would Love to hear how you found this gig, and how you think it would rank vs a two pilot gig.
You know it’s a long story so I think I’ll make a TH-cam video to explain it!
Excellent video. Thanks! What flight school did you start at?
I worked with independent instructors and didn’t go to a flight school
Love the "Happy {day}" call. So as a male, would it be bad form to show support saying the same or is there another way? Thanks!

Small Farm town where Peanut is the major crop and 20 miles south west of Gainesville,fl
Kaity: Your company doesn't use flight dispatchers or a dispatch service?
No we don’t
Ahh my dream plane to fly one day .
It’s so fun. What do you fly right now?
@@pilotkaity just a Cessna 182 building time flying skydivers. Trying to get my instrument this summer, then cfi next summer

There is a bathroom in the back for passengers

There is? Even in those small single engine 4 seaters?
I am an Airport Operations Specialist at KPIH. Would love to snap a picture with you and your Pilatus if you fly in

Yeah it’s interesting isn’t it. They just have no way to confirm she’s on the ground and landed safely
I always clean the boots off after the end of the day. with soap and water.
Probably good to keep up with all the bugs
Oh I can't stand Williston, ND. Yikes! 😮
Haha the people are nice though!

Nice to see other female pilots.
