Today's first steps into membership include the amazing quests Druidic Ritual and A Porcine of Interest voiced by Karadus!
As this is my first playthrough, please try to avoid spoilers in the comments as I fully immersive experience taking on the World of OSRS and figure out quests and other shenanigans along the way!
*My goals for this Old School Runescape series are to just have fun, complete every quest in the game, I’m trying to avoid guides + plug-in like quest helper (wiki allowed when all else fails and I’ll keep in that I used it) and most importantly try my best to not die on my HCIM!*

Spoiling or backseating is the exact opposite of what we want from this series, seeing someone be genuinely happy for achieving something for the first time is a great feeling, hope to see a maxed account in the future :D
Going for Dragon Slayer 2 and Quest Cape is a great goal to have. Dragon Slayer 2 is definitely my favorite quest in the entire game. Oddly enough still have not done it on my maxed hardcore for reasons that will eventually be evident. Would be exceedingly impressed if you somehow quest cape guideless with no death, as I am pretty sure no one has ever done it blind.
I played for 20 years and never completed Monkey Madness 😂
I doubt I’ll get quest cape fully guileless but I can certainly try! I fully expect moments in the journey where I get completely stuck but I’m all for it as I like the wiki counter existing haha 😁
Holy crap, your reactions to the swamp toad and king worm gave me a wild nostalgia flashback to my first time in Taverly back in like 2005 or 2006. Immediate remorse after taking the Toads legs, no idea what king worm is. I asked another player what king worm was, he said "IDK" I didn't know common internet acronyms so I said "what is IDK?" He said "I don't know". That sequence of questions and responses repeated like 3 times before I realised that he was saying he didn't know what king worm was and that "IDK" was an abbreviation for "I don't know". Man I was a newby kid.
No spoilers, but imo the f2p quests are good and well written, but some of the bigger questlines in p2p are next level. Good luck!

I know you made a flowchart about what members quests you're going to do... but I personally think you'll start by following it, then completely change your goals and plans constantly as you play. That's the beauty of this game over other MMOs - there are some restrictions, but you can mostly do whatever you want, and that's the best way to play.
Oh absolutely the flow chat doesn’t take into account my ability to get distracted by shiny item over there resulting in a huge sidesidesidequest happening 😂
this was so fun to watch a new player discover what I already take for granted and have fun with it

@@Karadusno spoilers: J1mmy is best known for his series "By Release", in which he did all quests in order of release date. So anyone who does a series focused around quests is compared to J1mmy :)

Dragon Slayer II as well as all quests completed are great series goals! It's gonna take a really, really long dang time though, so strap in! 😸
I'm not gonna spoil anything, but based on one of the monsters you've expressed interest in, there's a soecific quest line I'm really stoked for you to get to eventually!

Here we go, transitioning from the demo to the main game.
Game development in a massive game like osrs is so difficult and watching you really enjoy the experience as intended is very heart warming. Both of these quests were made to introduce new players to these skills and to see the design hold up in both the old quest and modern quest was a delight. To ending more dragons :D
Its great seeing somebody struggling and exploring runescape as most of us can no longer go into things blind with what we know. The curiosity is amazing and loving the series so far keep up the good vids

Quests, achievement diaries, and combat achievements are going to be a great way to push you towards things without out of game spoilers.
I love combat achievements for bossing, because the low level ones tend to tell you how you should kill the boss, or at least hint at it, and some of the high-level achievements are objectively how NOT to do the boss.
The photo you edited in of jack trying to comprehend Christmas while you are trying to understand the basic concepts of slayer was pretty funny lol 🤣

Will be very interesting seeing you react to some of the newer content aimed at new players - like Porcine of Interest - with the eyes of an actual new player. For veterans, who already know what slayer is and how everything works, it has a very different feeling to you going into it and actually learning how slayer works, in part, due to the quest.
Best of luck in members, I'll be watching with excitement to see how you tackle a lot of the future big bosses. Some of them I still have trouble even with a guide plus youtube tutorial!

Dragon slayer 2 is definitely an awesome goal followed by the quest cape for completing all quests. Stoked to watch your journey
The journey is going to long and full of twists and turns but I cannot wait 😄
Without spoiling your experience, banging out quests (like you did in F2P) is the best way to get to know the members world and get useful unlocks like teleports, new areas to train and new monsters to kill. Many quests also have some fairly steep skill requirements so they give you new goals to work towards. There's a few early ones that can give a lot of combat xp or give you the ability to use and buy some weapon upgrades.
Really amazing and enteraining. Was watching the whole thing with a smile.
I found it interesting that as a fantasy nerd you could guess a few things a little better then someone who isnt involved with the fantasy stuff. Its obvious but something that was nice to notice. Im on purpose ofcourse not gonna say what guesses were good or bad.
For us veteran osrs players who enjoys experiencing nostalgia trough new players a dude like yourself is truley a goldmine. I hope you can quickly grow - quit your irl job and spend your job time on the game and have some free time for other stuff as well.

It's gonna be tough, but I think you need to add another goal for this playthrough besides beating Dragon Slayer 2 / getting a quest cape: Getting a Brandos Godsword. You know you want to!

For a bit of fun knowledge about the combat acheivements: there is currently only 1 known Hardcore Ironman who had reached the grandmaster tier.

As you are a new members account now, grinds are getting tougher and longer by the minute and if You need something to watch I'd suggest AliendFood (don't know if somebody has already suggested him). He is doing quests aswell, without wiki and guides, although he has some general knowledge about the game he is far from efficient. His content might be interesting to you (very lore orientated) but may contain spoilers. Though he usually says what quest he is doing at the start of the video, so even if You haven't started the quest Yourself you can backlog the video for a later time. Good luck with Your grinds and love to see a new friendly face in the community! Big love
Doing quests, achievement diaries and combat achievements is a great way to build your account. It'll get you into lore, useful unlocks, motivate to train your account fairly evenly and get you into bossing.
Yeah had a lot of fun doing the easy Lumbridge & Draynor diary on stream the other day especially as it lead me down a complete random rabbit hole or two 😂 Can't wait to do more!

@@Karadus I wish I had a quest log and personal notes that would be awesome. I played DND for the first time last year and I based my character off runescape, and used a city you have yet to discover for their back story. It was awesome.
You should do recipe for disaster as soon as possible, it involves a ton of different quests and sees you get a bunch of stuff you'd love to get.
Slayer is great to start training early ,gives you acess to very good equips and good way to train combat skills while at it 😁

Its refreshing to see your perspective on the game. Most of us don't think of petting the dog or interacting with so many NPCs and exploring small shops. Really makes you appreciate the developers' point of view when someone new is looking at everything. Also, super happy to see how you're taking a liking to Slayer skill!

It’s an achievement I have never been bold enough to do in WoW to do all the quests but with how amazing this game is it just makes sense for that sweet cape flex haha 👌🫡 cannot wait to continue this journey with you all 😁
@Karadus That's cool! I've been playing RuneScape since 2005, and joined OSRS when it released in 2013. I just got my own quest cape a couple of months ago 😊
Next video go do the Gertrude’s cat quest to get a kitten and a cat speak amulet so you can speak to Bob if you run into him anywhere else in the world, and you should also try the hunter skill and the construction skill. Waterfall quest and dwarf cannon are some good quests, and try pest control mini game

Scurrius is a good low/mid level intro into more complex pvm with no requirements so he’s a good start. Some good goals for the mid term would be Monkey Madness 1 and getting a Fire Cape.

you have a weird setting for roof removal for only buildings you have your mouse over, idk if its intended or not but normally roof removal removes every roof altogether
It’s a roof removal plugin that makes it mouseover that people recommend so I still get to enjoy and appreciate the environment 🫡

Man I got confused you could do Draynor rooftops at lvl 1 agility, used to require 10 lol.
If you see yourself being a member for an extended period of time I would buy the 6 month or 1 year membership. Pretty sure it comes out to be a way better price.

Zoom in on your rooftop agility animations the first time you visit a course. Some of them are quite humorous.
Look for a quest with lily in it. Ita funny. Thats all you get. Also im doing dragon slayer 2 this weekend. No guides for a quest is pretty funny. Gl with that.
The single most important aspect of osrs, (especially p2p), is enabling fast travelling to as many places as possible. It would therefore behoove one to focus play time therein

Members has like 10x the content and depth compared to F2P. Try not to get overwhelmed and have fun! Playing OSRS without the wiki is extremely difficult so I'm interested to see where it takes you.
As a WoW player it would be cool to hear your thoughts on this game in comparison. Especially, since you've ended f2p and are entering p2p.

I get not using the wiki in F2P there isn’t that much and most things can be worked out. But I think you will need to use it in members especially as an iron. Items, drop tables shops etc.

Yeah, defense only affects how likely you are to hit a mob, if it's "weak" to ranged that just means it has higher defenses against the other styles.
