Thank you for making these beautiful videos and showing me sides of Florida I would have never otherwise seen. Also, thank you for showing me how really little I understand about the possibilities of modern camera equipment. Wow!
Right on! There's some crazy cameras out there... and I think I've only filmed in half the counties of Florida so far. Looking forward to finding new places next year!
I seem to remember a shallow section near the bridge because I figured that was the farthest the manatees could go. I'd say it was usually around 4 ft deep after that. Waterdata site is showing 6 ft at Lithia Pinecrest right now. Hope that helps!
@@markclark8444 There's a swimming area at Lithia Springs Park & Campground. You can see some of it at this time stamped link from another of my videos. th-cam.com/video/fRypE-SbrfQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AFU7gQMzXpVRmEet&t=230
I think chances would be good downstream of Bell Shoals. Too shallow after that for manatees. I'm not a fisherman but I saw others doing it. Try putting in at Brandon boat ramp for that.

Great video! We live by the Alafia and enjoy the river a lot. This gives a beautiful perspective of the river.
Thanks! Every time I drive over it I wish I was out there.
So much wildlife! Very cool.
Yes!!! and I filmed this all before I got my zoom camera. Probably could have captured so much more with that.
I love this river it’s great for bass fishing an when the rivers low there’s a lot of chilling spots
Yeah, man! Keep chillin'.
Really enjoyable video. Well done. Easy on the eyes and ears. I'll be looking for more from Mr. Alafia.
Hey. Thanks!
Thank you for this. I am new to kayaking.
Nice! Have fun out there!
How deep is the river past the bell shoal road bridge?

Great video 👍
Thanks, Dave!
cool boat
It's an attention getter, for sure.
Where’s the part with the blue water
7:24 is where Lithia Springs runs into the Alafia.
@@AlafiaHiker is that only accessible by kayak?

Thanks. Enjoyed your video.
I'm glad. I need to make more kayaking videos. Maybe I'll see you out there!
Chances of finding manatees down this river mid March? Able to fish along this paddle? What baits if so?

LOVE the underwater shots!! We don't get to see what's going on beneath the surface very often. Are you using a GoPro? Nice!!!
Thanks. It's a cheap $50 knock-off brand. A Go-Cheap or a Po-Pro. Hah! Works good though. Reliable.
is the diddy still on the alafia with the big rope swing?
I don't remember it from this trip but I have seen tree ladders and ropes from hiking trails. I think it the Gibbons Preserve had them on the Alafia.
What kind of kayak is that? I've never seen before.
It's called an Expandacraft. It's modular and is often used as an outrigger.
Thank you sir. Great video.
sad, this video was like 75% invasive species...
I know, right!? :/
