27:00 are we shocked that marriage is going down the drain? “Women want men to pay for everything and not do anything” that’s why men are just putting less effort.

Unfortunately very narrow minded and sexist generalizations. But thank you for the discussion. It’s still important to have a civil discourse on these topics.

Money, money, money. This is so shallow and sad. People choose their partners based on money, and then they divorce them because of money (it was the only thing that was holding them together). And btw, Chinese women divorce not because they think they "do too much for the family", but because they pick up the wrong partners (again, it is done based on money and not on his personality). Well, I guess you have to pay a price for your wrong decisions.

Seems like an unhealthy society tbh (not that the west is much better)

Yes it is shallow and sad.
But if you studied Chinese history, you'd know that corruption in government is so common and majority of Chinese population lived in poverty for very very very long time (since Chinese are one of the people who been around for very long time). This is where the obsession with financial security comes in - People do want to just live and survive. And people were early smart enough to figure out that if you just marry a rich guy, you will no longer have to worry about money much for both yourself and your family (helping the in laws are highly expected). This also ensures family line and legacy, which again Chinese cares a lot about. (Hence we have a lot of common surnames like Chan/Chen, Wang/Wong...etc). Of course this financial security mentality have evolved into love of money heavy on the materialism and luxary (no different than other developed countries to be honest).
The above explanation is not to give excuse, but to explain and understand why things are the way they are. Chinese people do care about true love a lot. It's why romance is a big thing in Chinese culture still. There's plenty of romance novel, and plenty of romantic plots in Wuxia novels. But Chinese believed that practicality over romance. So it's better to marry someone who is rich that ensures you and your family's survival, over love.

I've been living in China for 2 years now, and have noticed Chinese base their self-worth on status, and will compare up the wazoo leading to strong infighting and jealousy. The highest nail is the first to be hit down.

Asian women get an education to meet higher level men, but they are really no different. Basically it shows the girl’s family is well of as they can afford to send their daughter out of the country for education. With that said, keep in mind the girl’s family will want the guy to take care of their daughter and the expectation will be that much higher.

A lot of places worldwide don't do small talk
Don't talk to strangers because it stranger danger
As they say don't quit your day job
What so interesting about pushing boys to date more in China and gaining experience with the ladies? Because in the west a lot of women don't want to be with men that don't have experience with women and the bedroom which I Believe the west should push boys/men to want to date women more and gain experience with the ladies because with the landscape in the west as it is with more and more boys/men not engaging with women and birth rates dropping it should be a thing to push in the west
A lot of men around the world now days would want women to look at men for who he is and not for how much money he has or what he can provide for her we have to remember money is not everything and money is the root of all evil
There a saying ''His Money Is Ours and Her Money Is Her Money'' which is selfish on the women part if you ask me
Double income for the woman only but what about for the man which most women seem to not care about men now days
How can men get a woman if everything a man does is wrong nowadays
Most men around the world are not in power contrary to what women say because most women only look at the 1% of men who are in power and think that all men are in power which is not true
Feminist for a long time now have been pushing women to become boss babes and so if a woman wants to be a stay at home mom/Tradwife it is looked down by many feminist
A lot of men work the hardest jobs in the world and go to war and yet women complain about giving birth which now days they only have to do once or twice in their life if that since women nowadays are having less kids then ever before
Nordic countries, are among the best countries in the world when it comes to gender equality so the lady from China can not say that there nowhere in the world
You two should watch Brainwash: The Gender Equality Paradox which came out in 2010 which is a Norwegian documentary
The Chinese woman in the video is going down that boss babe mentality that a lot of women in the west have then hit the wall after 30

She is absolutely right about about having too many options and teachers need to give an option of 1 or 2 things and then focus on that. There needs to be more focus on the things that are right in front of them instead of the future.

Thanks for having this guest on. Her opinions will certainly be controversial, but speaking out against patriarchy always will be. Women should feel comfortable to not settle for less than what they sincerely want from life. Men who are not interested in providing those things can look for someone else with different values. It’s all about compatibility. She is quite courageous for such a young woman; I appreciate her candor.

" speaking out against patriarchy“”??? That's odd. Chinese women are systematically oppressing men and are held to a much more lenient standard generally whether in the work place or in law enforcement. They have won by a huge landslide. The only problem they have is there aren't enough 6'3" CEOs w/ washboard abs to go around. Pls do not comment if you have absolutely no clue of the basic facts. It's idiotic.

She sounds ridiculous 🤦🏽‍♂️ Not respected in society. So society is always correct 100% of the time. Do you really think that men value a woman going out and making money (which she doesn’t want to spend) over first and foremost being a good Mother to their children?

I think maybe sacrificing for the community is natural for all humans but America just learned super early on that it is better to allow for meritocracy. Due to unfair taxation we were extremely turned off by the idea of dictatorial power right at the moment the nation was formed. I am not a historian but it is interesting to wonder just how important were certain aspects of history. For example George Washington just happened to not want to be a king and he desired to return to his farm life after the war that founded the nation. Mao however just happened to be a little coyly interested in ending the reign of emperors while subtly enjoying taking on the role in many respects.
