Ah, the nostalgia! This was my weekend as a teenager: Mage Knight tournament every Friday night, eventually culminating in winning the Apocalypse Dragon at my store's final tournament when I was 16. Mr. Dice Chatter, please produce some more MK battle reports if time and ambition permit...
@@johngrusendorf3777 The legacy continues! So great to hear you still play with your grandkids. I am forever indebted to you for introducing me to Mage Knight and Hero Clix. I've kept all my figs and plan to introduce it to my kids!
Man I miss this game. I still have a massive elemental army complete with 3 dragons. Probably 200 minis. My brother had a similar sized atlantean force with fist of Tesla and my good friend had similar sized necropolis army. We’d do huge 3 way fights with our whole armies. They’d take a week to finish but man so fun
Man, how I searched for this kind of video... it is really good congrats. You really brought back the magic of playing mage knight with friends withou any phones around. I feel like someday Mage Knight will be like a retro fever. Once again man, you really naild it with this video. please do more. If I remember it right... black square on the damage is necromancy, not magical levitation... the orc mage could get out of contact and revive some of his fellas
Love this game! Please do more of theseeeeeeee! I was super into MK 1.0 back in the day and a few years ago got some friends into it. Also, Werebear is Magespawn, not EL ;) annnd the magic blast at 7:00 was illegal I think - you can't range attack an enemy who is in base contact with a friendly :)
Man, that was nostalgic as hell. I'm from Brazil and when I lived there I used to play Mage Knight 1.0. This was back in 2002 when I was just 11. Awesome to watch it on a high quality video like this. Cheers
I remember being 12 or 13 years old, just excited to be into MTG, reading Scrye and Inquest Gamer, and I just want to digest all types of fantasy gaming, eventually convincing my Dad to buy me a starter pack of Mage Knight. I never really played another tabletop game after, but this game has this massive effect on my childhood, Iike leading me to randomly search for it on youtube.
I played this as a kid! I got a starter set and I never found any more figures and of course no one else who played. It was so cool watching a full pledged combat
Awesome video, I wish there were more videos like this about the original rules and the original game. Hope you guys make another video at some point, this is dope.
@@DiceChatter Please bring us the next installment of this sweet nostalgia trip! (My favorite faction was Atlantis, so I wouldn't mind seeing Atlantis vs. Black Power Rebels...)
First, YES, keep playing this! And funny enough, I just got the Mage Knight Ultimate Edition (Board Game)! Which I hear is loosely based from this miniature game! I’ve always wanted to see what the original mini game was like, so now I know! The board game is completely awesome as well!!!
"Then I will push my launcher forward" Sorry, writing these as I watch this, but if you want to do this again in the future (or Heroclix, or Mechwarrior, or Halo Actionclix, or...) then it's worth noting that the verb "push" means something extremely specific in the rules.
@@DiceChatter No worries though man. This is reminding me of when the game first came out, and the Black Powder Rebels with their invincible 18 defense Steam Golem in the starter.
Back then, I was so into these and the marvel heroclix counterpart. Loved the models of both games, now I think they’re just a step better than melted candle wax. Still, these games were my first foray into ttop wargaming
I think concepts like "pushing", or not being able to both move and attack in the same activation, holds this game back a bit. It makes the game much slower than it otherwise needs to be. Especially near the end of the game, where the unit count has been reduced, and many characters are subject to demoralized paralysis. It makes the ending of the fight drag on, which isn't as fun (least of all for the player whose units are all demoralized into non-action).
I vote on Orc Shaman as MVP! While actually this is a first time I see this game and it looks nice. And as I have checked, you can still buy it pretty cheap (I see on sale starter sets for MK 2.0 here in Poland). So it's tempting to buy two starter sets and give it a try. ;)
The Orc Shaman did a great job, but just couldn't hold those invaders back. And on a side note, if you do intend to purchase the starter set, just keep in mind it is discontinued.
I have so many of these figures. I just dug them out last week for something to play against my daughter.
Now I'm here.
"That werebear will move his 7 inches closer to the fray" ... now I remember why I love this game so much
Instablaster...
Yes!! More Mage Knight!!!!
That was awesome. So well produced too. I loved this game back in the day.
I love this, the on-screen stats are very cool! please do more Mage Knight battle reports!
The game that launched my lifelong obsession with tabletop gaming.
You and me both!
Missed this game, still have all of my old figures, the tanks, the hill giants. wish the game was still alive.
OMG my feels!!! I was 15 when I bumped into this game and started down the path of wargaming.
Played until the day it was discontinued :(
Same here Mr. Burp. I had a problem going out and buying too many booster packs...

@@clejosh Hey good to see you are still out there my friend. We need to connect again and maybe play a round of mk
@@johngrusendorf3777 Yes, sir! We're only about an hour away from each other now, and I would definitely be down for a meetup and some MK!

The Werebear was always one of my favorite heavy hitters. Even stronger than some uniques.

Maaaaaan it's been ages since I saw this awesome game being played. I hope you're going to do more videos on this!
If there is an audience, we for sure will make some more videos.
This was an absolute pleasure (despite the egregious misplays and calling it "Mage Knights" which isn't its name!). Still... play more! I heart MK.
Amazing report, miss playing classic MK
By far the best Mage Knight play through video currently out there. Please keep them coming!
Your edition is so great to watch the game. Really brings up the figurines and the action
Would really enjoy some more classic 1.0 Mage Knight Battle Reports of such quality!
Awesome video, I wish there were more videos like this about the original rules and the original game. Hope you guys make another video at some point, this is dope.
Another one is planned. Just may be a minute. Glad you like the content!

This is awesome and brings back a lot of happy memories. Hope you guys keep it comin!
So nostalgic! I feel like the game was legit pretty good for what it was. Would love to see more of it!
I'll see what I can do!
Yep, I'm 61 years old and love this game
Takes me back to 2003!
Great video! very entertaining... Since last year I've been playing again and its great fun. I hope you upload more like this.

Awesome Tom, good to hear! Thanks for the support.
Great job!! Just like you, I too was introduced to this hobby by Mageknight!!! Thumbs Up!
Dude, this is fantastic. You gotta do more random games like this! Star Wars minis, D&D minis, that sort of thing.
"A couple coins I had lying around"
Flaunting that TH-cam money I see.
Hah! If only TH-cam would send me money...

True True. I should mention this later. Bad phrasing at the start.
@@DiceChatter No worries though man. This is reminding me of when the game first came out, and the Black Powder Rebels with their invincible 18 defense Steam Golem in the starter.
Never played it but always saw it growing up, hideous models but have charm to them. Hope to see more

I LOVED this game!!!!!!!
The Chaos mage was always a favorite of mine. But I only used him on the first click.
Watching a video about an “old wargame” while I work on a QRS for a wargame published in 1973.
Haha you aren't wrong!
That was fun.
I love "Shovelboy". Awesome name you've given it. lmao

I know MK 2.0 was not as newbie-accessible, but the new rules (like surge) fixed what you're talking about and made the game more turny-friendly.
Two questions, the one click of damage from pushing is done after, and you can't target figures with range in base contact right?
Both of those questions are correct!
@@DiceChatter Thank you! Hope you make more battle reports. I can't find any. You're onto something big imo!
Dang I really miss playing this it was fun have team battles

More Mage knight! Nice video!. I have like 280 figures me and my brother Play against each other Also haha.
those orcs have terrible luck XD
There isn't much of a difference I think but do you prefer mage Knights rather than heroclix?
I have never tried out heroclix, so unfortunately I have no clue what I prefer...
Luckily for me I have my juice
