@@JosephKim So I bought one and use it for a few months now. Good device. Light weight, colors seems great and good angles, it is my carry-on second monitor when work on the go, and usefull as second ot third screen for panels and monitor on Premiere and After Effects. I just wish the included micro hdmi cable was a bit longer, and a small stand tripod would have been nice. Also I would prefer regular hdmi port size but on such a small device I guess there is no alternative. (oh well just noticed MD white on blue icon is my pro account but I am logged in with other one ^^)
Just got mine today to use with my MacBook Pro M1Max on location for editing. The ProArt Creator Hub software is windows only. (*ProArt Creator Hub (ASUS Dial and Control Panel function) support Microsoft Windows only.) Creatives like to use macOS for their creative work. I don't know why ASUS ignores macOS (M1/Intel) users?
Hi, love your videos. Can you please tell me if the Asus 14" Portable Touch Monitor (PA148CTV) allows for proper stylus usage? I want to use it for Adobe programs, but also as a control monitor for my computer and a tablet to draw on it and push control with a stylus like a Surface Pen or Apple Pen type. Can you let me know please? TKU.
Thanks again for the excellent review, it's funny cuz I bought that MSI 5120x2160 monitor like 3 years ago after watching your video, and today Google search sent me to ur channel again when I am looking for reviews on this monitor XD Question, EVGA 3090 on my PC doesn't have any USB-C outputs (while the old Zotac 2080 somehow has..) So I am curious, would the touch function work in such a setup: connect the HDMI cable to my GPU and connect an USB C cable to my motherboard's USB C port? I remember Wacom Cintiq pen display uses such a setup back in the days.. I am not sure if ASUS would work the same way (From ur video, it seems that you only connect the monitor to your laptop using an USB cable)
I have not owned a GPU with a USB-C. So, I have not tested this. But I don't think if that port on the GPU carries other peripheral data. If so, I think it can work. If it only carries display, then, no. Touch wouldnt work with that. Same thing for involving DP cable. Will be just display only.
Update: Item arrived, for RTX 2080 that has an usb C port on the card, a single USB C to USB C cable gives me both touch function and display output. For 3090 that does not have a USB C output, I need to connect 2 cables to the monitor, 1 USB C to USB A cable to the motherboard, and 1 micro HDMI to HDMI cable to the card, and then I have both touch function and display output, just like how old Cintiq pen display works.
I always prefer portable monitor or tablet. But it depends on the client type and the setup of the meeting. You definitely need bigger screen when it is more than a few people :)
Great review! Quick question... How did you get it to work with only one cable? I connected to my Thunderbolt 4 on my PC, and it only works if I add the HDMI cable. Any thoughts?
@@JosephKim - hey thanks for the quick reply!!! Yes. Ironically, it's an Asus ProArt: www.asus.com/us/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/ProArt/ProArt-B550-CREATOR/ haha

hi, i cannot use the touch screen feature for some reason, is it only use for design and editing or i need to make adjustment in the setting. i directed the portible mornitor as secondary screen, does it effect the touch function? Thank you
@@JosephKim yes two different sizes, but I don't really mind about the size as long as it has touchscreen and the price is almost the same so wondering quality wise which one should I go for
Can anyone be so daft as to spend €€€ MONEY $$$ on something like this? Really? How about just getting a 14-inch laptop or 2-in-1, removing off the screen part -- and there you have it. Much cheaper solution, surely. Asus should be including this extra LCD for free with all of their laptops and 2-in-1s. You still need something to plug this thing into, and that something will already have a screen. So this thing is practically useless. Nobody had asked for this product segment, but the mfrs are saturating us with them.
It's daft and ignorant to think your lifestyle and use cases apply to everyone. In my case, I'm not a digital artist but train people virtually. Having a second monitor when traveling, located right next to my webcam and laptop, is a much better setup than using the hotel's TV and awkwardly tilting my head up and away from the webcam. If you want to be a cheapskate then do it, but no reason to try and lower the professionalism bar for other folks.
great for me. i use a pen display as my main monitor but none are perfectly colour accurate. so a small monitor to check colours as i work sounds great
Thank you!!!!! I was looking for this exact video!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the In-depth review. Awesome stuff.
Thank you!
I actually have seen a guy bring a regular monitor to a Panera for a client meeting. This is a much better
Lol. Maybe he wanted to be seen. Nonetheless, this would definitely be more elegant solution. Plus, the touch!
Thanks for reviewing it, I am very interested by this device.
Yes, me too! :)

Fantastic video m8, are you able to change the input between USB C and HDMI via the touchscreen or do you need to click on the menu button?
It does automatically detect. For manual control, use the menu.

Great review. Does it work with the stylus pen included with Asus Zenbook Duo?
Nope! Unfortunately not.
So power can go by usb-c, so only one cable needed?? no usb-c + power cable?
Yep. USB-C will carry both the display and power :)
