I'm still surprised it actually made it. hopefully it looks good with the leaves off and not a freakshow lol.

Gotta give it to Harry...he knows his shit! I gotta admit I wasn’t completely out off by the initial situation. I bet if that were left to grow for, well...ever, I bet it would’ve blended. But then again, what the hell do I know. So cool that it worked out, love a good successful experiment!

In person you would have been shocked and appalled with its right angle ways and agreed with me lol. but yeah I'm pretty happy it didnt die

Back Garden Bonsai no doubt you’re 100% not incorrect about that. Triple negative high score.

At a guess I'm thinking that is a Black Cherry Plum tree (Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra')

Next career...plastic surgeon. Lol. I cant believe you freaking pulled that off. Well done broski. The leaves grew out considerably smaller and I like the different shades of color. Cheers 😎🍺🍺

lol, this is what tree surgeons do, right? the colour is awesome. i cant wit to refine it so its a big canopy of red goodness

one drw back to doing interventions we see oyjrts perform successfully is thry come with issues not always talked about when someone wants to show their skills amd talent. in making those cuts the trunk now will forever have a weak spot. Some time at a later date when you mau nhave a lot of work put into the tree you may do a little work that most trees can handle fine but for a second we forget about that thing we did and " snap" there goes the entire developed top half or third of a beloved boinsai, in the time it too to demonstrate the bends to completion you could have grown a new second leader that would help keep taper in check long term. i did an approach graft on a moderate size chinese pistachio mostly just to practice. i drilled a hole and fed the graft through the hole. in the end the pot fell over six month into the project and broke the branch. some time later i was working on the tree oblivious to the impact drilling a small hole had on thje inregrity of the trunk. now its a very short tree with no branch growing anywhere close to where it snapped. these interventions do heal but they leave areas of potential werakness for yeatrs and sometimes for ever. like a grafted tree that developes a delayed graft failure. good video and im glad you could straighten the tree. looks much better. thank you, Mats H

yeah that an interesting point. I had thought about this, especially when you see like older trees having this sort of work done. My hope is that as this part of the tree is pretty slim, and should thicken a lot over time, that the damaged area should actually be a very small percentage, so hopefully its not as delicate. but we will see what happens. if its a disaster it will be a lesson for us all.
