      I love how everybody went like "they really hate each other, they focus on each other during the game, blah blah blah" when they are both super chill, really respect each other and seem pretty friendly to each other (wemby presented his parents to chet, this is not the typical thing enemies who hates each other would do)

    I’m a spurs fan but I respect Chet a lot, guys a serious baller and that okc team is even better with him playing. He gave it a hell of a run for the first few months of the season, undeniable that wemby was better from January through til the end of the season. He took a leap that Chet didn’t and again it’s down to situation and roles being played so hats off to Chet man he a real one, looking forwards to the inevitable spurs v okc series down the line starting the next few years when my spurs have some better pieces

That’s what’s so crazy. This was their FIRST YEAR as pros. Amazing future for both.

And as someone coming from a college, where he was absolutely dominating, especially with just the height alone, I think he doesn't want this extra smoke. Wemby on the other hand loves it and is motivated by it.

Towards the end of the season SGA and Jalen Williams missed some games, with Chet now being the focal point of the Thunder in those games he averaged 13 pts, 7 reb and shot 27% from 3. Meanwhile Wemby is over there facing multiple defenders from opening tip cause he is the number one guy. Wemby was ranked 3rd in most difficult field goal attempts out of the entire NBA out of big men and he still put up mind boggling stats as a 19 yr old rookie

      Also, please let me hear your argument that Chet would excel as the number 1 option of a team, I'm already laughing at what you're gonna spew out. No one besides dillusional homers thinks Chet could've done what Wemby did, on a minutes restriction no less

    • @Sunking210
      @Sunking210 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@partywitmarty My point is that Chet's averages are more of a byproduct of having the luxury to play with 2 undeniably better players in SGA and "JDub" so yes I seriously think Chet wouldn't be putting up better numbers when the entire opposing team's defense is to stop Chet.
      Like I said originally out of all the Centers in the NBA last season, Wemby ranked 3rd in shot quality, meaning the majority of his shots were heavily defended. I saw enough OKC games to see how easily Chet can get thrown off when being defended. He would absolutely struggle more being double and triple teamed from the opening tip like Wemby does.
      And lastly, I'm not saying that Chet is a bad player cause he's obviously not, but what I am saying is that Wemby is being touted as a generational player for a reason. He creates a lot of his own offense and it just so happens he's one of the league's best on defense on top of that.

And it goes both ways, if Chet was in wemby situation in Spurs, would he scored and do as much as he did probably yes probably not, if wemby was in Chet position dont you think they would have beat the Mavs?? Even if you add Chet’s total stats in the play-offs to his regular stats, Wemby would still have the better numbers and Chet played 92 games in total, while Wemby played 71. Wemby’s regular stats is also better than Chet’s PER36 stats. This is not a knock on Chet because he is certainly great and he fits perfectly in the Thunder system, but Wemby is just the better player. Always had been since FIBA U19. Also, Wemby is doing all of these on the fly. Chet had a whole year to learn and build chemistry with his team that’s why the Thunder gelled well together. Wemby has to deal with the opponents gameplanning against him on top of teammates not passing him the ball when he’s open.

His stats were: 17 8 1.25apg 2bpg 0.5spg on 42/33/77 splits. People who say wemby would do way better than Chet on the thunder don’t understand how basketball works.
    The reason wembys stats are so high on the spurs is because he is the best player, meaning he gets the ball more, which means more points and more assist.
    If he was on the thunder he would have similar stats to Chet, still higher but similar.
    That’s due to less possessions.
    Yes wemby is better but it’s not a drastic difference, wemby had a top 3 rookie season of all time, Chet easily had a top 10

    Why do people mention age when talking about rookie of the year? However old you are when you get to the league you are still rookie. For some they are 26 some are 18. Youre still a rookie. It just took some longer to get the skill set. I dont see why age would change anything when judging rookie of the year. If however you were going to make an argument about who was better at a certain age fine, but thats a whole different argument. Rookie of the year is just that.
