- Join us on a beautiful, pristine, almost 100-year-old trail in the Willamette National Forest. The Macduff Mountain Trail was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930’s. This under-the-radar hike is often steep, blossoming in late June with wildflowers, and rewarding at the rocky summit with almost 360-degree views of the Cascade Peaks and surrounding forest. The outing was organized and expertly led by Steve Johnson, a long time very active member of the Obsidians, our Eugene, Oregon hiking/outdoors club.
We took the shorter route from the upper parking lot for a 5 mile RT hike. Approximate upper trailhead coordinates: 44.1295769,-122.193902
A longer, steeper 10 mile hike is available. Google Maps location for the lower trailhead: 4QHC+R4 Blue River, McKenzie Bridge, OR

Many thanks, and thanks for watching!
Nice hike. Amazing to think that the trail is nearly 100 years old. Lot of folks walked that path.
