- Our first gear related video was one of our most popular and received a number of positive comments. Additionally, the comment section not only had follow up questions, but inquiries about other gear as well. So, we thought regular monthly videos about the equipment we use and how we set it up might be helpful. This one focuses on some iPhone settings we’ve customized for use in the Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max underwater housing including the all important Assistive Touch, Shortcuts and Passcode Management. We also cover the importance of Lock Screen, which will go a long way to saving battery life.
If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover more in depth related to the equipment we use, let us know below. Next month, we’ll cover our camera float bad…which seems to garner a lot of attention whenever we show it in a video.

They should hire you to film their setup videos!!! Very good - THANK YOU
You are too kind! Thank you for the encouragement and we're glad you enjoyed the video. :-)
Thank you so much for this, solves a lot of my delay issues and will definitely help me get 2 dives out of my iPhone battery which has been a real problem for me.
Glad it helped Rebecca! It's not uncommon for Leslie and I to go two 100+ minute shore dives and my iPhone 15 Pro Max makes it through both with plenty of battery to spare.
Very useful, thank you!
Glad you liked it Joss. I'm working on one for a +15 Close Up lens latter this month. :-)
This is awesome. Thanks for the tips!!
Glad you guys like it. :-)
Geweldig or Great ,thanks pr dank u wel😃
Glad you liked it! :-)
Thank you for this video. Great information as I get ready to take my recent high school graduate to Florida to get scuba certified. If I may ask, what is the float that you are using for your camera rig?
Thank YOU for the nice comments and we're glad you found the video helpful. Also, conrats to your grad and kudos for continued learning...especially of the underwater world. :-)
We recently created a channel playlist for our gear videos and in there you will find one specifically on the float. In case you're in a hurry, you can find it here. th-cam.com/video/bBiSH0C4PbA/w-d-xo.html :-)
Where did you buy your dive oak buoyancy bag?
We had the custom camera float built by Dive Right In Scuba in Plainfield, IL. You name suggests you might live in Europe and, if so, there is someone over there that is making them as well. You can find out the details in our custom camera floats video. :-) th-cam.com/video/bBiSH0C4PbA/w-d-xo.html
Really enjoying your Bonaire dive videos. Brings back many memories especially the difficulty getting in and out but your fish photography and identification is top notch. This video has helped me configure my iPhone for the Divevolk housing but I can't seem to see how you set an alarm to turn off passcode. I don't see how to set an alarm for a function other than time and if you go to Settings and FaceID or Passcode Management when you try and turn off passcode it gives a warning about wallet information. Could you add a "how to" comment ?
Sorry for any confusion Richard, but there is no link between setting an alarm and passcode management. We just set a time based alarm which reminds us to turn passcode management on/off. As for general instructions, Apple has the latest process for turning passcode on/off at: support.apple.com/guide/iphone/set-a-passcode-iph14a867ae/ios
As for the impact on wallet information, you are correct. When turning passcode off, there is a warning about "Apple Pay cards and car keys will be removed from Wallet and will need to be manually re-added to use them again." That said, it doesn't appear to completely remove the card. We tested the process with a credit card and found that, after turning passcode back on and clicking on Add Card in the Wallet app, there was a Previous Cards option that showed the credit card we had entered before turning passcode off. We had to re-enter the security code and you may have to call the credit card company, but it wasn't a complete start over. Still, this may be a concern/hassle for some folks, so thank you for bringing it up. :-)
@@TropicLens - From a Scott Kelby video, he pointed out if your iPhone is locked then all you have to do to get to the Camera app is press screen and then swipe left - voila instant camera. If you use your accessibility bubble you can then go to Blackmagic etc. This way you can lock to preserve battery but regain the rapid access to camera or other app without having to adjust your settings before the dive.
Can you give us a hint, how to turn off passcode via the calendar? I searched many pages but did not find any clue. All suggestions are manually made (go to settings…)
Sorry for any confusion Richard. There is no link between the alarm and passcode changes. We just set an alarm for about 30 minutes before we plan to leave for the dive...to make sure we don't forget to turn it off. While you can do many things with the phone underwater, you cannot turn off passcode because it requires either cell or wifi service, neither of which are available underwater. We also set an alarm for about an hour after we plan to complete the dive to make sure we remember to turn it back on because...security. :-) As for turning passcode on/off, in case you (or someone else reading this) want instructions, Apple has them at support.apple.com/en-us/HT204060 . Hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions.
@@TropicLensSuper thanks. Your Bonaire and Curacao videos are superb and bring back many happy memories. Keep up the good work. You are fantastic.
@@richardwilliams9471 Thank you for watching! 🙂

Working on the video now Juan. Should be out next week. :-)
