Love this piece! I’ve subscribed to the course and looking forward to it! I’m going to be out of my home for most of the rest of the year… holidays and birth of a grandchild… but can’t wait to see the course online and then see it again when I’m back home and can paint! Thanks Joy!
Thank you so much for this demonstration. I find it difficult to maintain the sense of 'play' but, as you emphasize, keeping the logical side of the brain at arm's length ensures that there is life in the making of the painting and that follows through to the work that is finally produced. I would have loved to have been one of your students. Your ability to communicate in a clear and light way is so mesmerising.
Loved the way it transforms in multiple ways Joy. I shall take on board all you shared in this tutorial 🥰....Ha! Like many of us, I have plenty of creations that could do with a 'make over' 🤭😂 Thank you Beautiful Soul 🕊️🌞💖
You are very inspiring in the way of letting go and not being afraid to cover up what has been done and then cover up again. I have a hard time doing it, but your words and watching you do it inspires me. Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much, I'm so pleased you found the video helpful. That's the great thing about acrylics you can paint endless layers until you feel happy with your painting! Have fun 😊
Thanks so much Joy! I love the idea of using tissue paper to clean the paint off the brush as well as for blotting, which can be used in collage. Brilliant!
Absolutely love this Joy! I’m hopeful I can get to this stage in my painting soon. I’m really struggling thinking I may not have the creative mind to make it in abstract.
Thanks Laura 😁 Abstracts take time, letting go and allowing yourself to just explore possibilities needs a bit of practice. Take yourself back to being a child just playing with paint having fun. Have a dedicated play sketch book and experiment. I'm sure you'll surprise yourself! Enjoy! 🎨🖌️😊
My pleasure! The tissue paper makes great collage without even thinking about it. Lots of interesting designs and colours you can use on many kinds of paintings 😊
Fabulous JOY, I recently reviewed some of my first painting which I thought mmmm I cant wait to get at them and try this out. Once again thank you so much
Do you usually start with a white canvas and then start adding color or do you lay down a coat of color that will be something used in the rest of the painting? Hope this makes sense.
The best way to know when a painting is finished is when it feels good to you. It's also good to leave it for a couple days and then look at it with fresh eyes and see how it feels then.😊🖌️🎨

You can do both, I usually like to paint the canvas first but it depends on the project. Have fun! 🖌️🎨😔
How do you decide when the painting is finished. This painting looked finished to me 10 minutes ago 🙂
