He didn’t make any excuses like most people do . Doesn’t seem like a bad guy , just a guy that had troubles dealing with his emotions and expressing it . I didn’t find him wrong for making the decision to leave the show , it was just how he did it. It seems like her learned from that though

It s hard to believe that the emptiness that he felt from loosing his dad couldn’t be filled by the love he received from his mother his sisters his nieces and nephews but he wanted a stranger while dating multiple guys to fill this emptiness in very short period of time? If it wasn’t acting or practicing audition for Bachelor? He is very charming he could be the next bachelor,

Hopefully we can see Katie apologize for very publicly misusing the term “gaslighting” multiple times to describe this breakup. As someone who actual lived through years of that form of mental abuse, it was disgusting to see that along with her misidentifying what it is on AFR.

    • @TheMadosztrosits
      @TheMadosztrosits 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Kelly Hoyer again, I actually lived through it. Gaslighting isn’t just another name for a heated argument; it’s a very specific form of mental abuse that often takes a long time to even manifest. I know exactly what it is because I suffered through it for years, and was so mentally gone after I escaped that I didn’t even have a name for it until years later and after many visits with a therapist. Thanks, though.

This was a good interview. Greg was never my fave, not because of all the rumors around him but because of his insecurities. However, I’m happy he went on Nick’s podcast and I really feel like Greg was very genuine and remorseful. I wish Greg the best. I hope Katie reaches out and they can get some healthy closure.
It’s been great to see all the therapists and psychologists come out and help Bachelor nation understand and move through this minefield as well.
I sure our community can also move forward and we can all be more thoughtful towards each other and Dave.
    Great job Dave.

I keep thinking about the attachment wounds/fear of abandonment that Greg has been facing and how those were triggered by Katie in that hometown. Greg loses his dad and he finds a safe person with whom he develops emotional dependency (that's one of the roles that therapists have in their clients' lives) and this safe person dies as well. How could he feel safe if he is unsure whether Katie is committed to him or not? He finds himself in the woods again, facing the bear, and unsure if there is going to be any safe person around to fight the bear with him. I'm not saying Katie did anything wrong, I'm just highlighting the triggers and the wounds that were poked in that interaction. I really hope that Greg finds his way back to safety, but it is heartbreaking to see the amount of trauma and loss he had in such a short period of time.

I learned more about Greg during that hour interview than watching clips and the beginning of the season.
He seems like a good guy. Lots of tragedy encompassed his life the last few years. To go Vegan for your dying dad as a show of solidarity speaks volumes. He realizes he still is healing and isn't going to pursue a relationship anytime soon. He realizes he could of done better and never bad mouthes Katie.
As someone that recently lost my dad to covd at the age of 62 I know exactly what that does to you psychologically. Losing someone who had unconditional love for you refines your bullsh*t meter. What I mean by that is that you analyze life and relationships to align more so with what you think you deserve. A love similar to the one you lost.

So does a lot of people and not everyone goes into a reality show to deal with it and trying to since 2019 which is when his dad died apparently. People acting like he’s the only one who lost a father and sympathizing for that is a little silly. Look at Michael. Look what a positive attitude to life he had. I think they both didn’t handle things well in the end. I do not think Katie should’ve blown up as much as she did on live television (that can really ruin someone’s life, some of the things she was saying to him), but i feel there was a lighter way she could’ve handled Greg, and still let him know that she was hurt and felt very disrespected. I actually liked Katie a lot, but then when she blew up at him i lost a lot of respect for her. I always thought Greg was a down to earth guy but maybe hadn’t healed all the way since his fathers passing and Maybe he just came on the bachelor too soon. I think he is a great guy and a real person and we all have bad days and things we need to work on to better ourselves. In the end, everything happened how it was meant to happen! 😄💜✨Happy for them both!

I think the rumors about Greg on social media affected her. People were saying that they knew him and that he only went on the show for exposure because he wanted to get into acting and that his real personality was a cocky Jersey boy. I think she believed this because it explained his behavior for her. And also saying he had no regrets for hurting her so deeply. I believe that explains her extreme anger. Although I don’t believe he was acting. I think whoever wrote in that Greg was this horrible person who only got on the show for acting exposure was someone holding a grudge and had perhaps been rejected by Greg and wanted to portray him as a bad person. But unfortunately Katie believed these rumors and was really convinced that it was true, because she never really understood why Greg left and seemed so angry with her. The rumor seemed plausible to her. But I don’t think the rumors are true. I just think Greg was not healed enough from the trauma he went through losing his father and then his grief counselor died too. If you look for someone to fill a hole in your heart you will be disappointed because only you can heal your own heart. I think Greg should never have agreed to go on a show that can be traumatizing as well. Competing with 30 other guys for one woman’s affection can be brutal. I thing Greg and Katie are both good people at heart.I’m glad Katie found love and I hope Greg gets his heart healed.

I just feel like making teams from this is so disappointing. They're humans who were both hurt. And if there was a big edit in there with Katie's awkward reaction to Greg pouring his heart out, and I was Katie watching hometowns back, I would have defended myself and yet she still didn't see what was wrong I would have said, "I said more to him in that moment than the show let on so I don't understand his reaction..." or that the weight of his words floored her more than she "just was listening." But she never did and talked like she was above him bc she was the lead. She kept talking like just bc she gave him one on one dates and the first impression rose that that should have been enough, but by saying that she's literally proving Greg's point further by showing she might have cared more about playing by the rules of the game than actually handling feelings by the end of it. It doesn't matter if she thinks she validated him all season. That's not how every person works. If Greg needed comfort in that hometown moment, there was nothing wrong with him being upset. It just blows my mind that people found him whiny and uncalled for. It was very clear to me what was happening in his mind and I'm happy he is in therapy now. He shut down as a fight or flight response bc he lost his father, and the woman he was gonna bed and propose to in a couple days couldn't give him anything sincere in a moment he needed it. Not condoning the next day, but c'mon! This is not a black and white breakup and this doesn't mean he'd be an abusive boyfriend. C'mon

Gregg saw a part of a date Katie had with Blake 🤔(how did this happen), during the final 2 weeks of the show, and I think when she seem to push back after he poured his heart out, during hometown with him, his mind told him her feelings for Blake must be stronger.

I think you're missing the point that some people don't think he was actually hurt, that he is an actor.

What sincerity was she supposed to give him in the moment though? She hadn’t picked him yet. Literally most leads just say - “thank you for saying that” - when a contestant tells them they love them. “I love looking at you” is a step up LOL

I believe he was sincere, not acting. Seeing her interaction with Blake 🤔 was in his ❤️ and 🗣️

@@janeryan2709 I don't condone Greg's way of leaving, but Katie's extreme bitterness towards him in AFR tells me that she still doesn't get why Greg shut (her) down. Here were ways she could have validated him without saying "I love you." (Which I commend her reasons for choosing not to say it):
      1. Just move closer and hug him for awhile
      2. "Thank you for being so vulnerable with me. This is one of the reasons I find our relationship so special."
      3. "I'm sure your dad is proud of you. I wish I could have met him."
      4. "I see a future with you." (don't just cry about it to the producers once he's left. Like???)
      5. ***my personal favorite *** "Losing a parent is an unimaginable pain. You know I understand. I am happy to have eased some of yours. I want your happiness."
Mind you, these were instant reactions I had in my head after watching last week, seeing as I lost a father myself. Saying "I just love looking at you " triggered a fight or flight response. It's not hard to figure out. I'm tired of Bachelor Nation (and Katie) making teams and throwing the word "Gaslighting " around. Even with her describing it to the audience, that was not gaslighting. Those were his real beliefs in the moment. Greg was emotionally manipulative but I don't he's a narcissist, acting the whole time,, or a gaslighter.
That said, I do like them both. However this ends, I hope they find happiness. But yeah. Katie isn't 100% in the right here like her narrative portrays. Personally I think Katie always wanted Blake-- even before Greg left-- so I think it was best he dipped before fantasy suites 😂 Greg's points were valid.. I mean, she broke her "I love you" rule so easily with Blake and so soon after wanting to book her flight home. Greg had intuition to know it wasn't him; let's be real.

What if the obvious was true? What if the show producers found him at his school and paid him for the show appearance? What if this was all scripted? What if he now in the hot seat and he in now paid additional money to keep things under wraps ? Do we not know that its been the case in the past???

I’m going to go over and listen to the interview. At this point, I have no reason to not believe Greg. If only he could’ve said any of this on ATFR.
I agree that you don’t go on The Bachelor/ette to become an actor. You go on to become an influencer. 😀

I think producers told him to do this in order to become the bachelor in the future. I cannot believe in his words, a lot of time has to pass to be able to like him.

Men have to be held accountable. I applaud Katie for standing up for herself after the final rose. Greg came off as depressed & well he was still mourning. I don’t know where his head space was when he signed up for the show.

Dam Dave, I thought you were ok having people with differing opinions. All good, not worried because it's 100% your page, but I will say I wasn't rude, explicit, or aggressive in my comment and only made a specific comment in response to an action. I'll avoid anything controversial in the future.

A lot of people, IMO , are seriously overdoing it here. It's as though he left her waiting at the church on wedding day. Terrible. But if that's the moment you "know" it's not right for you, should you walk down the aisle and commit to a wrong choice in order to not get cancelled? It's a reality show folks. Life is complex. After watching Katie on ATR, I think he made the right choice. They both have issues. Hopefully, they'll both be happy.
