And this isn’t even the first time in that series where that happened. Sure Giannis wasn’t good from the line, and he also didn’t take the ball like he was expected to do, but he literally went back to basic big man behavior because it better suited him for his injury. Ran pick and rolls, basic lays, all that good fundamental stuff. Hence why his stat line reflects that of a really good typical big man with high points, high rebounds, and high free throw attempts from fouls. It’s weird that people overlook the games he missed and also how he changed his play style to still support the team even while injured, did a GOOD job at it, and still has to go and take the majority of the heat for a collective team failure. James Harden is a bad playoff performer because his averages drop compared to regular season I would venture to guess Solz thinks Luka is a good playoff performer despite only making it to the conference finals once and losing in 5. It’s not about what round they lose in or how they do in elimination games, although those can still be factors, but about the individual efforts of the player on a consistent basis

Personally, I believe that Harden's negative playoff reputation is overexaggerated. Giannis and Harden both have weaknesses in their skills that get exposed in the playoffs. However, there are ways to work around Giannis's flaws (except his free throws), and the other parts of his game cover for them (although his playmaking is not as good as people think). It's harder to work around Harden's flaws because he's usually the initiator of his team's offense. His offensive game is predictable, and the other parts of his game don't cover for that, which makes his struggles in the playoffs look much worse than Giannis's.
I'm a Rockets fan. He can have a thousand points for all I care, but if you have to be benched for the 4th quarter of close elimination games...you're not good in the playoffs. Curry, Giannis, and Bron have all missed shots and free throws in the 4th quarter, but they're on the court because they make the team better even if they miss shots. When you're relying on Corey Brewer to win you playoff games because your star player is unplayable, you have a problem. No disrespect to Rocket's Legend Corey Brewer because he won that game.

@@westbronco9066 They lost because for some reason Jrue Holiday was a chair, Budenholzer hated timeouts, and the rest of the team just looked scared to do anything, which caused them to lose a double digit lead in the fourth in about 6-7 mins. And this isn’t even the first time in that series where that happened. Sure Giannis wasn’t good from the line, and he also didn’t take the ball like he was expected to do, but he literally went back to basic big man behavior because it better suited him for his injury. Ran pick and rolls, basic lays, all that good fundamental stuff. Hence why his stat line reflects that of a really good typical big man with high points, high rebounds, and high free throw attempts from fouls. It’s weird that people overlook the games he missed and also how he changed his play style to still support the team even while injured, did a GOOD job at it, and still has to go and take the majority of the heat for a collective team failure. Makes no sense to me.

As for Harden... he's not even close to being an average playoff perfomer much less a good one. It's disrespectful to compare Harden to Giannis in fact, cause Giannis easily clears. Harden is an All-Time choker. He has one good game in each series and maybe 1 or 2 decent games to follow up on the good game, but then he falls off a cliff. Personally, I believe that Harden's negative playoff reputation is overexaggerated. Giannis and Harden both have weaknesses in their skills that get exposed in the playoffs. However, there are ways to work around Giannis's flaws (except his free throws), and the other parts of his game cover for them (although his playmaking is not as good as people think). It's harder to work around Harden's flaws because he's usually the initiator of his team's offense. His offensive game is predictable, and the other parts of his game don't cover for that, which makes his struggles in the playoffs look much worse than Giannis's.
I'm a Rockets fan. He can have a thousand points for all I care, but if you have to be benched for the 4th quarter of close elimination games...you're not good in the playoffs. Curry, Giannis, and Bron have all missed shots and free throws in the 4th quarter, but they're on the court because they make the team better even if they miss shots. When you're relying on Corey Brewer to win you playoff games because your star player is unplayable, you have a problem. No disrespect to Rocket's Legend Corey Brewer because he won that game.
