Liverpool is alright for the odd game .... I watched City there once or twice and, and apart from the City fans singing, the silence from the kop has been deafening ... and and its been a similar story in many Anfleld games that i've listened to on radio, especially ones in which they've lost or drawn, like during their poor home run last season when being at Anfield was like being at a library .... you want real atmosphere, go to Italy, Hungary, or Argentina.

I'm proud to say that my first time ever watching a football game in the stadium was at Anfield, that was an unbelievable experience loved every part of it and loved the whole city of Liverpool
As a Manchester City fan who has been to all 3 of them grounds as a visiting supporter, i can comfortable say that both Chelsea and United had better atmospheres than Anfield
That Dortmund game brings back so many goosebumps whenever I watch it. It was the LFC fans and their faith which resulted in one of the best games of the modern era. LFC forever ! .. YNWA
Loving how with "And this is how we fight back" line, Salah is up. Yuppp Salah is fighting back with the team to bring the glory days of Liverpool 😍 Such a sensational video 😍
For the you'll never walk alone at the end of the video, that was the one from the mcg where Liverpool played Melbourne Victory in Melbourne with 95,000 fans. I've listened to it hundreds of times and I could tell that it was that game.
Have to say when they play the big games it is great but real atmosphere is permanent not selective. Lesser games then bar the obligatory "You'll never walk alone..." before the kick off it's usually pretty quiet. Not speaking as an armchair fan, been there half a dozen times and I know the genuine supporters are ardent, passionate and know the game. But honestly, atmosphere is about a club that sings for 90 minutes regardless of the opposition or scoreline.
I remember as a kid in the early 90's paying £4.50 To stand in the kop. Something I'll always remember. The swaying back and forth, the songs, the emotion. Best club and fans in the world.
I'm not a Liverpool fan but my best mate is and we went down to Anfield when we were 9/10 with his mum and we were sat in the cop and it was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced and gave me goosebumps! Amazing experience!!
I've been here and it is literally incredible. Seeing and singing YNWA was an amazing experience. It was only against Bournemouth in the League Cup, but it was well worth it
I think their "You'll never walk alone" singing is one of the coolest things in football, but that honestly seems like all that makes them stand out. The rest of the game they seem no better (or worse) than other big clubs in England I'd say. I actually think that England has some of the worst/least active/most boring fan cultures in Europe atm. Even small nations create much more atmosphere with what they've got. When you look at those countries and see the atmosphere that ~10k people can make in a stadium the PL fans really aren't all that impressive I think. Part of the issue may be the FA regulations over there. There's probably a lot more to it but banning stands etc. certainly isn't going to help any atmosphere. I think most teams in Germany beats most teams in England when it comes to atmosphere. Dortmund is probably at the top but plenty of other German teams are up there as well. What's great about the German atmosphere is that it's still a happy one. There are other countries (SE Europe. Looking at you.) where that's certainly not the case. They make a lot of noise, use flares etc. but just spewing hate for no reason has nothing to do with a good atmosphere or with football for that matter. Football just seems to be their excuse to let out all their frustrations. Of course banter should be allowed but singing about killing Serbs, Croats, Bosnians or whatever is not banter. Especially given that regions recent history. Some of those people singing about killing Serbs for example may actually have done so ~20 years ago. That'd be like if Germans or Russians sang about killing Poles in the 60s. Not banter. If noise level and burning seats is what people want from a football atmosphere I guess SE Europe is where it's at, but while the pictures of certain Croatian derbies etc. look pretty damn impressive it's not something I see as a good thing in football. Even a vuvuzela makes noise if that's all you want..
iam a lady of a certain age old age and all I can say I've stood in the KOP once and the most spine tingling sensation happened. it's top of my bucket list to feel that magic again. x
if you've been to anfield as an away fan in the premier league, you'll know it's hugely over hyped, the away fans are responsible for 90% of the atmopshere. decent in cl nights, i'll give them that
Once the pa man has encouraged the regular anthem of YNWA at the match beginning, that, is usually it as the Kop and co fall into their quiet restful slumber awaiting their strikers to entertain them with numerous goals for the rest of the game. I had the pleasure to have stood on the Kop in the early 80's now then, you had a REAL ATMOSPHERE with continuous singing and chanting. The end of the terraces to more corporate boxes, jobs worths in bibs, tourists, people who prefer to record the game with their phones instead of singing and controlled via club singalongs and created flags have put a nail into your club's ONCE famous Kop and supporters. Though I am a Man Utd supporter, I apply all I have said here to United as well and indeed numerous other clubs. The BEST atmosphere and supporters home and away in England is at Crystal Palace, their fans never stop and have countless songs which are witty, catchy and make you want to sing to, their atmosphere though smaller a ground is wondrous. The honour is with Palace.
That is since they introduced seating and of course we have not won the league for a long time but it did not used to be that way. The kop needs expanding with safe standing at the front. Just imagine the noise.
Yesterday i watched liverpool - union st gilles. I was amazed by the total silence in the stadium of liverpool. All you could hear was our belgian fans!
A wales v england rugby union game in a sold out millenium stadium is great. Not just the 80,000 people enjoying the banter and the sport, but the fact that there is about 30 pubs within a 2 minute walk of the exit.
Anfield: Start: Singing and Chanting During the game: (When it matters) Silence After the game: Singing and Chanting Best atmosphere in Europe, lol sure
Anfield on a week night for a European game, there's nothing better honestly, I was at the Dortmund and Villareal game (I Met Chris Pajak and Vuj) and it was the best moment of my life so far
Went to Anfield last season expecting big things. Couldn't even hear Never Walk Alone as us away fans belted out Rafa Benitez's name. There's a better atmosphere in the pub full of Geordies than Anfield.
Is there a better atmosphere in football? Yes, literally all over Europe. English fans and their 'amazing' atmosphere is laughable. The couple minutes of YNWA is great, sure, but after that it's dead quiet and thousands of people sitting on their ass. 5k supporters from anywhere in Europe would literally create a better atmosphere than 50k English lads. inb4 faze fanboy insults
you're partly right. Many clubs in England have good atmospheres, but in the 2/3rd tier. Premiership and the money killed off atmospheres in many grounds. The famous culture of England does not fit with the European style of 'ultras'. Our top tier may not have the loudest fans anymore but the culture as a whole is the best in the world and always will be
To be fair Anfield is the best atmosphere in England and to be fair to e better atmospheres in Europe, they're all smaller stadiums... Dortmund is the only big stadium that rivals Anfield. Small stadiums always have a brilliant atmosphere because everyone is closer.
Stood on the middle section of WHL's shelf for the 1986 FA cup semi final. What a great and unique terrace/stand that was. Stood on the Anfield Kop many times 1981-86. Is this a joke? It's probably the quietest ground in the league and that isn't me being biased. Fans of other clubs say the same when they go there and actual match going scousers agree and want to desperately improve it. The only people who rave about it are people from abroad who believe the myth but never actually seen it for themselves. They only see the YNWA at the beginning, not the silence after it. All grounds in England are generally quiet anyway and not a patch on anywhere abroad so not just a dig at Liverpool. To say any ground in England has the 'best atmosphere in the world' is simply ludicrous.

All grounds in England are generally quiet anyway and not a patch on anywhere abroad so not just a dig at Liverpool. To say any ground in England has the 'best atmosphere in the world' is simply ludicrous.
The kop and anfield is the best in world the gound shakes when they get going wooow
Celtic park is miles better
@@josephrobinson7767 celtic is a lot better pal
@@josephrobinson7767 stop spouting pish pal your deluded if you actually think that
@@josephrobinson7767 your really boring me now with your nonsense their are even liverpool fans commenting on this post ( the ones aren't deluded like yourself) admiting they haven't got the best atmosphere this is the last time I comment to you as they say you can't argue with ignorance
@@josephrobinson7767 😂😂😂😂
Goosebumps...
Anfield gets overhyped because the Bpl as a whole has some of shittest support and atmosphere around. The best of a shitty bunch
Dortmund are not in the BPL, right?
You need to switch off your life support. #YNWA
You are right indeed, but that is to blame on the FA and the clubs. They raised the season tickets rediculously. So normal people couldnt afford it No more. That way a lot atmosphere left the stadiums.
+LfcReviewKing its true tho like fucking old Trafford, Emirates, stamford bridge. Your good but not the best in the world
Michael Finan So you're comment isn't true, then...
Man, I got goosbumps watching this 🔴🔴
The most overated atmosphere in all of football. It's a myth. Only rated because it's in England were all the atmospheres are rubbish
agree
crystal palace is good
This is why I love Liverpool
To be honest Crystal Palace's atmosphere is MUCH better than Liverpool's atmosphere ours is dead everytime in the middle of the match
I went to watch Liverpool vs Dortmund in 2014. Dortmund are meant to be one of the clubs with the most atmosphere. When they came to anfield we didn't hear a word from them and we were loud for 90 minutes
